    Position, Position, and even more Position is key otherwise to quote a late and very great Head Coach of yesteryear "its always GRAB, GRAB, GRAB!! doesn't anybody know how to tackle anymore?"
    And THAT'S exactly what we the fans have witnessed for awhile now in observation of what's presented as N F L Football in this day and age-the total disappearance of face-up frontal lift n separate the ball carrier from the ball and/or ground in a solid tackle.
    It's really not a lack of talent on the field but it sure looks and seems as if there's a lack of essential coaching of the defensive position players in the aspect of field position.

    But the argument against this never add up. Because the people that's arguing keep saying they've never done it or almost never done it. So clearly yall figured a way around it

    As a Former Receiver & DB completely understand both arguments yes they are making the game more difficult for defenders and it's not right but also there are ways to properly tackle a man and they teach you that at the simplest levels of the sport they teach angle drills they teach tackling techniques I've been thru them a "Hip Drop" is honestly a man getting dragged by a runner and him dropping all his weight on said runners legs or ankles that just not Kool it may not be on purpose but c'mon bruh I get you tryna get me down but I rather you try make me fumble over you tryn yank me down trying extra hard doing the most

    It’s the players fault, they always trying to be victims man. It’s beyond me why they continue to allow ppl who never played the game make rules for them and referee the games it’s dumb as shit like why is that a thing?

  • @Freethrows36
    @Freethrows36 6 месяцев назад

    It’s already at that point but the only way these new rules will work which they won’t is if refs penalize it both ways don’t let ball carriers lock on and drop bucket meaning if they see a defender they can’t load up if they buck the tackle or shake some that’s different but loading up especially on a defender when shedding a tackle should be penalized to and give them a margin where they have to land the stiff arm chest to neck no face or head stiff arms if we going to level the playing field do it all they way and go to college rules since they want to penalize folks for breaking up passes or blowing people up if a receiver lays out and catches the ball once they hit the ground you can’t advance it down is down so DBs don’t have to worry about it

  • @mcren6781
    @mcren6781 6 месяцев назад

    I wouldn’t worry about the hip drop tackle rule. The league said they would rarely call it in game. It will likely result in fines later on though.

    I always dislike hearing nfl players do not want to hurt other players, some might truly feel that way but there is some mainly defensive players who whole intentions are to hurt the opposing teams players? Yall think we forgot about bounty gate 😂

    go for the legs, back or chest. If you tackle by the waist move forward, not down or backyards. That’s how you’ll end up with a flag for hip drop tackle.

    That there was no commensurate adjustment of rules for offensive players (Cut Blocks, allow REAL press-man coverage), the league cannot frame this as player safety ONLY.

    Man, the defense needs an extra man on the field OR make a “Pick-6” an automatic 7 points and you still get to kick extra point field goal. Defense needs some type of advantage too.
