Truth. ARGB is nice but totally useless in most builds I've seen, unless you are not using the PC and just sitting there staring at it, while gaming you never really notice much lol.
This is the case for me i've waited years, my last major build was 14 years ago sense it's all SFF builds but now for my production unit this is it! with interior switched to rt hand yaa.
@@bashfullJ88 I'm not really all that familiar with the shadow base 800, but from what I've seen, I don't think you could go wrong with either. They're not that dissimilar. I can say I love the dark base 701. My build looks great!
I watched this and thought well that’s a Great looking chassis and read some comments here about it’s a boring design. Have I missed something ? Don’t Bequiet have a strong ‘no nonsense’ design ethic ? I actually thought the inverted idea was pretty clever In its implementation. 👍🏻
Mr. Leo, I do so wish to see more of this kind of video. I would rather watch unboxing, individual product reviews, and builds instead of the usual this vs that comparison video's. They have gotten so repetitive and unappealing and i personally just don't care about them anymore. I don't run any form of benchmarking software nor do i chase FPS and there will always be something better coming down the pipe. I love PC''s, checking out new products, and being a general PC enthusiast. All the overcompetitive nonsense between brands can go away as far as I'm concerned (general Statement). Having the "Worlds Fastest gaming CPU" or getting the best "1% low's" matters not in having a good gaming experience in my view. Another great video and i hope to check out this case soon. Keep up the good work!!
I get home from playing Bridge to find a Leo video: excellent! That's a lovely case. I trust your temperature results will come in the next video. Re inverting the motherboard: does this not assist in having a super-thick radiator at the top?
Would you recommend the Dark Power 13 1000W PSU for a 14900K / 4090 build? I'm a bit perplexed how Titanium rating and ATX 3.0 plays into the 1.5x that people typically suggest for wattage overhead.
Why didn't you show the chassis connectors to system headers on the motherboard? I would have enormously helpful to see their length and how modular or separated the header connectors are. Same with the build in rear fan, how far to the hub and path the cable takes to it? Where would extension cables be required. Similarly, would have been nice to see the power cable paths through the chassis to the motherboard. Is the design forward thinking in cable management or random holes which are going to be tight with out of the box cabling from other vendors. I heard design esthetics but not engineering functionality.
What about the cooling, would that be sufficient for the temps of i9 14000k? I am looking into building the same PC and I am a designer, doing renderings and graphics. I appreciate your reply. Many thanks for the video!

The build looks astonishing. However, I've been waiting for this case to be available in Romania, until I gave up few days ago and bought a Silent Base 802. I regretted it until I saw this review. The 701 is overpriced (at least here) for a case missing some features I have no reason not to call "basic". To begin with, one of Be Quiet's most recognizable features was the ability to choose between solid and glass panels. You're not even able to buy a solid panel if you don't want glass (I'd definitely choose the solid panel). Secondly, for this kind of money, hinged panels and more HDD cages would've been welcome. The case looks great, not gonna lie, but - and this brings me to the third and probably most subjective point - together with 901, this new generation of cases can't hold a candle to the Silent Base 802 (arguably the most elegant case on the market).
@@Kyole4255 I can't see any. The only spare panels that appear on their website are airflow front panels and window side panels. No solid side panel. Maybe one has a chance on a dedicated spare parts shop/website.
PCI slotcovers with support beams inbetween? Wow, for that price it's really bad. If you wanna go vertical those 3 slots are way too close to the side panel. And because of the beams you cannot mount a vertical bracket. thanks bequiet
Everybody could have an inverted PC if they just put their case upside down but have to say their graphics card / CPU positioning might be a good idea.
Pointless? You may want to take a short course on thermal dynamics then make a totally biased yet unfounded remark about fan speeds vs. noise. Great build regardless and very well thought out aesthetically although some Light Wings fans could easily be swapped in for some bling.
It appears bequiet have abandoned the push button release for side panels they had on the 802, which is great and I feel they are lacking innovation. This case is far too close to the 500 in design and look, just a bigger version with mesh.
I really think bequiet needs to step up designwise. The cases just look old, the same design with an other variant. It is quiete sad, because i honestly like bequiet as a brand, i like most of the quality of their manufacturing. But they really need someone who is more of an artist than an engineer to design a bold, fresh and innovative new case.
I get the point of the thread starter. Their designs are very ‘German’. Nothing is ever added without an internal debate I would assume. If you remember even rgb took them a very long time. I suppose this could be seen as being a dull design but while I agree in theory. I actually find this case refreshing in a market filled with frivolous nonsense.
It’s certainly not an exciting design but Bequiet have always been about understatement and engineering. I like that about them. It’s actually their USP.
@@historianfabulousio5128 GPU pulls in cool air from above and pushes it down, now hot? And yes, I do know convection is rather weak force compared to fans. Still not worth making it worse eventually. Also could you imagine vertically mounted GPU in a flipped case? If anything, 30+ years old ATX needs a total rework. But that's a complicated topic. Also outside the case hot air still raises up. So having an intake at the bottom is best.
Think you could say that about any case now. Very little truly innovative but this one actually looks better than most I’ve seen lately and the inverted idea was pretty cool. Nice materials too.
@@larwiemcdonnel5322I dunno bro, we've seen some nice innovation in recent years, in particular all the cases that are optimized for vertical gpus with bottom intake like O11, Fractal Torrent, Nzxt H6
honestly. This understated black build appeals to me more than one with loads of lights. Old school. Love it

Glad to see an air cooler for once!
Just bought this. Love it. A touch of rgb, but largely a professional looking case with lots of space, good airflow, and excellent build quality. 🙌
Do you like it better than the shadow base 800? I don't know which one to get.

Thanks for this video. Very sweet build, love the blackout style.
That’s a stunning chassis love it. Seems you did too Leo
beautiful. also first time watcher, love your calmness
Nice to see a case built with great materials.
That cpu cooler is great. Very very appealing to me that build. Little rgb and black stealth !
That strip down part was fascinating. They thought that design out well !
I like the sleek black builds. Always had one of those growing up. Still using my HAF but looking to migrate to this
Best cages review always! Thank you ❤

0:24 - so trippy seeing your third arm above the case.
Great review, thanks for the oppertunity
Great no review! 😃 Great that you like the case and the more convenient way of installing the Dark Rock Elite.
I like the rgb light strips up the edges makes it look like an old school jukebox (sort of).
Love the non verdict at the end. Would have loved to have seem some stats on that CPU cooler performance.
Nice re-enactment there Leo.
Thats a case that has had some proper design effort gone into it really like this one.
Lol, love the "Result would have been!"
Love your work and sarcasm.
PCI riser cables scare me but changing the graphics card orientation makes it worth it.
So much flexibility with only a little effort you can get that thing right down to its frame.
If the internals get too hot will the motherboard override the fan setting that is chosen from the button on the case?
Not sure if they are controlled by the board.
Its beautiful, this is my next build. I would like to see what it is like with 120 fans and an aio fitted
I absolutely love this.
Nice build ❤

Great video! 👏🏻
Great looking final build. Would have loved some data from that cooler.
hows the cable managemnt for be quiet Dark Base 701??
Great video Leo ❤❤❤
That’s a great looking final build. Thanks for using an air cooler. Getting sick seeing aio
awesome video Leo!
I wonder can this configuration be ventilated properly with closed roof?
as i understand in MB you need to set fan mode to pwm, as default auto not always recognizes its DC or PWM. Good to know that riser cable is pointless
Damn this is literally the sort of thing I am building, would have LOVED cpu temps on this. Oh well.

Why have they gone for a larger size? Confusing as this is almost identical to the 800. They have shot themselves on the foot there.
How much is this case ?

Need compact micro-atx case from be quiet🤤
I'm not sure that such a processor will work without problems with air cooling.
Please try to light the cases better. Hard to see the details of a black case with dark lighting.
Increase the brightness of your screen. Video looks great on my phone !
Bit stingy they didnt include the 3.5" drive bay accessory.

I’m trying to wrap my head around your statement of turning the case upside down. It’s not quite the same as the Bequiet system in this one !
I'm going to rotate mine and balance it on a corner
is it just me or once he got out of quiet mode while idle the machine was actually making a lot of noise like a freaking jet turbine?
Having looked at pc stuff in a while, see not much has changed.

I love the looks of this case tbh. It’s well made. Looks stealth and the whole design inside seems to work well based on what I saw Leo doing.
I think this fits with Bequiet ethos well. They are never a company who have went overboard with weird and wacky designs. They are German after all.

Flipping MB with modern flow through high power GPU mounted in the PCIe slot makes no sense whatsoever.
