Cgc has been missing a lot of mentions of first appearances on their labels. Tells us that they're sifting through the books real fast due to the sheer volume and not even researching them anymore. It really hurts the books in the long run because 20, 30 years from now people aren't going to remember what's in the books and would just be relying on the labels for "info."
CGC and CBCS have both been missing first appearances on a bunch of recent books. I almost wonder if its them waiting to see which character are worth noting and which are one and done.

Apparently its because it has no barcode. Even though they have graded some, they claim they don't.

Is it even worth it to send in newer comics worth just a few bucks to be stabbed? Seems like the service is better for older material worth more.
@@WhitneySmith-ey7dl if you are having your books graded purely for near term financial reasons, then for the most part, it is probably better to keep them raw.
Just sent in ASMs in the 600 range, got 3 9.8s, 3 9.6s, 9.4 and 9.2. It almost seems that they just have to kill you on one or 2.
The only thing consistent with CGC lately is their inconsistency.

They did the same to me with the Silk 4 cover misprint. They consider it a NG, for being coverless.
Why do slabed modern books suck so much. OMG! I dislike them so much!
I don't know that they all suck, just this whole deal of giving a book "No Grade" because there is no barcode.

My favorite was the AF 15 replica NG. Did you follow up with that?
That is just stupid. Was there a release of that book with an acetate cover or something that they thought it was instead?
CGC claims because there is no barcode they will not grade it and mark it coverless even though I purchased it from the retailer this way, and they have graded these before. The only reason I sent this in was because the copies without barcodes sell for $300+
That AF15 is interesting. Is it just the wrong sticker? 🤔

I've seen plenty of facsimiles grade, not idea why you got the NG. Mile 1 and the NYCC drip were my favs.

Hello Mr Rob are your Sennheiser headphones for use with TV’s also?
You could use them with anything that has a head phone jack. I happen to use a USB adapter with my computer, but they have two connections, a 1/8" stereo headphone jack, and a 1/8" microphone jack.

Just did some research on that book. There are some on ebay with no barcode that are graded and there are some like yours with NG Coverless. Only thing I could figure is the no barcode version was originally sold with a special outer cover or maybe it was a regional distribution cover or something or maybe even a dust jacket. I'm sure a post to the CGC Forum would get an answer.
Hmmmm.... I don't remember where I picked this book up, but it would have been direct from a retailer. Interesting.

Heavy duty plastic CGC cases and plastic bags that will be around for 5000 years when the comic books by then have become about 1/2 of dust in the case. This craze of making every comicbook a work of valuable art, even when the art is mediocre, when the stories are beyond bad, well, it was because of the greed of collectors, mostly the work of speculators -- which is just about every person who buys a book now. This week the newest Holy Grail is that Spiderman book #7 with Spider-BOY. Yay, do I hear $500? $5000. Who here has the most money to throw at a silly comicbook. Or how about Spider-Gwen or just whatever minor character they can resurrect from the dead so people can FOMO over. FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Are you a six year old boy or girl who's parents can instill the FOMO in you?
Are you a dealer holding on to books you promised to sell?
Are you Everybody in the world ramping the price of every book in existence to FOMO?

It's enough for me to hang on to my money and buy a graphic novel or an Ominbus or a reader, a beater. Jeeez. ☹☹☹☹☹☹
I certainly understand your point, but I think you may be new to my channel. I do not think of myself as a FOMO guy, nor a speculator as I seldom sell books and when I do rarely at a profit. I buy what I like, and I like to collect graded comics in addition to non-graded comics. I fully understand not everyone is into graded comics, and nor should anyone feel obligated to. The ability for everyone to collect what they want and how they want is what I love about this hobby. I appreciate your taking the time to watch and leave a comment, I respect your way of collecting, and hope that you will continue to support the channel. Thank you.

It is quite insane, its not like they haven't graded other copies with no barcode, apparently they changed.

Cool books Rob. My friend got a ng on his af15 and was told by cgc the reason is because it has no bar code so they deem it a non real comic. I don’t like their response.

The AF 15 has no barcode on the blank cover variant. Someone took the blank white cover off.
Sellers are doing the same thing with the blank 181 facsimile variants. Taking off the outer cover and selling as no barcode
I would hope the retailer I purchased this from did not do that. It also does not explain why CGC graded many such copies, but now say they don't. I sent this in only after seeing how much more a 9.8 with no bar code was selling for. Very disappointed all around.
I noticed that too that CGC had graded some no barcodes. I wonder if they didn’t catch what was going on at first.
What does the grader notes say (if there is any)?
The graders notes said: "No Barcode on cover"
That last slab, “High Republic”, was the best one.

Since it was CGC that made a mistake on the facsimile, shouldn't they be the ones who do the "cracking" instead of you? (just trying to educate myself here)...stay safe Rob and my fav is the negative space NYCC spider-man cover.

I'm confused, you pay a company to grade your book and they don't grade it then they haven't done what they have charged you for.

Those CGC plastic covers are so hard, I’ve never seen one of them crack or break… they are very well protected, it doesn’t matter how they mail it. U can wrap a brown paper bag over it and it will come the same. That’s why I don’t understand why it cost $17 to ship? It weighs nothing,it’s flat and as big as a magazine… i feel like we’re getting ripped off
Respectfully, I disagree. I have received several damaged slabs in the mail due to insufficient packaging. $17 is basically the cost of shipping a medium flat rate box, and from my experience even if you just stuck it in a bubble mailer and sent it ground parcel, its going to cost around $12, so I am fine spending a couple extra on shipping if it meant the slab will be packed correctly. Shipping isn't the source of our being ripped off, especially by CGC. I would start with the $5 submission fee CGC charges you for filling out their online form to submit books. Then forcing you to fill out a second form for books from different eras, and paying a second submission fee, even when sending in the same shipment. Submission fees should be waived for paying members and should be charged only to free memberships. Thank you for watching.

WTF is right! I'm glad I clicked on this video. Why in the world would CGC give the facsimile a NG??? No cover??? I just submitted an Action Comics #1 Loot Crate facsimile so now I'm wondering what they'll say. I only sent it in because I already have a CGC 9.8 DC #27 Loot Crate so I figured they'd look neat as a pair. Now I'm concerned...
Apparently, CGC claims the no barcode is the reason they gave it a "coverless" designation, and they claim this is their practice, this of course is not what the evidence will show if you search around as there are several graded copies without barcodes.

Like yourself, I would much rather have a copy without the ugly barcode and this is your “reward” for finding this variant. 🙄 Oh man. Keep fighting the good fight brother.
