I only just found this song a few days ago, yet it had me burst into tears. A mate took his life in January. And very few songs set me off, and they where the songs I was listening to at the time Queensryche's "Silent Lucidity" and Dream Theatre's "Take Away My Pain" I hadn't thought about him in a while, and this came on RUclips auto play. I remember sitting on the bus, back from the first day of college, almost to breaking point, and the moment I was told he had passed, my best mate knew for a few days before.....and couldn't get the guts to tell me, it was so instant. He was a great mate to me and I still love him.
This one is for the best friend i had back in my school days. He was my soulmate. The only one that really liked me and was there for me in times where i wanted to end my life by myself. He held my head up and he kept my faith in that everything could just get better. I loved him like a brother, I still do. He died in a traffic accident. It's been 20 years since my father has passed. Time really does go by in a blink. I was only 6 years old then and didn't understand anything at all. As time went on, I moved cities. I went from being angry with him to turn my back on him, to the grief of why didn't I do anything. But now I am at peace and visit his grave whenever I'm back in town and had recently rekindled with that side of the family. So much lost time to make up. There isn't a day that I don't think of him...from graduating high school and college to getting married and our first house this year, I'd do anything to have had him there.
