I have a 2007 Honda CRV. That is black. I want to coat the lower bottom gray plastic trim in gold. I have also considered gold wrapping. This textured finishing sounds like it will last longer. What is the cost of this textured procedure ?
Unfortunately you will not be able to powder coat plastic parts. The main issue is that the temperatures required for curing are too high for most plastics. We do have another division within our company (Cerakote) which is a durable ceramic coating and will have suitable options for plastics. www.cerakote.com/shop/cerakote-coating
The line about be careful with the air gun is a lie.. that happened because you didn’t coat it properly, give it a lil preheat, or put the powder gun in a different position.😊
First of all, working with Illusion series powders is a different process than normal powders. We do not encourage "shooting hot for a variety of reasons. First, it cannot be undone without stripping. Second, Illusions have a specific time at temperature for flashing. This needs to be followed for correct results. I can assure you we did not lie about anything. If we wanted to deceive, we wouldn't show a common mistake for educational purposes.
@@PrismaticPowders the unpainted area is because the powder wasn’t sticking. It happens to me all the time. If you warm the part up it sticks in those tight places.
Awesome 🎉
strip and reshoot! just kidding! finish looks good, i'm all for the unique finishes!
Yeah, it's fun to experiment with different powders and see what you get. Sometimes it's dramatic and sometimes it's subtle...but always fun.
