Aside from Seox, everything in this video is true and wonderful.
Jokes apart, great work and great topic. Honestly Rising is one of the best fighting games ever made, both deep and simple, fun and competitive.
I think the second part, with the examples, should have been it own separate video, and it wouldn't be a problem making it longer and with more situations.
The first part of the video deserves a more solid closure, like an motivational conclusion in reference to the title thesis.

@ardidsonriente2223 yea Im not the proudest of this video. It could have been done better if I wasn't on a time constraint. I could honestly talk about this game for hours because on a casual level, this is my favorite fighting game of all time, and that probably won't change unless they for some reason decided to make another GB fighting game in the next like 6/7 years.
Had I not been trying to cram an entire explanation of this game, its basics, and snippets of gameplay into 20 minutes, I would've gone into it more.
I love playing this game on a casual level with friends, and Seox, and Narmaya are some of my favorite characters in any fighting game.

@@Chazmo53 Full respect for your work, even with the details, it is still a great video.
I love Narm and hate Seox... both are part of loving the game. I hope to run against you with my Cagliostro someday.

@ardidsonriente2223 I get the Seox hate. But I'm like average at this game at best so I can't do half of the crazy stuff he does. I just know some simple stuff with him.
And yea if I ever get back into ranked in that game then who knows, we might fight again. Though I'm pretty sure my rank is still in the dumps lol.

sick video, personally it was the fighting game that I dedicated the most time to this year but I always found the same problem, very low player base, which is a shame because I consider it to be one of the most polished and generous games that came out in recent years even with free version, but it is not worth it to me to continue investing time in something that will not go beyond a very small niche of players

When I found out this was the “easiest fighting game” I was in shambles because I found it so hard to play. Im now at 100 hours and honestly I’m not sure if I could play another fighting game if it means I have to do directional inputs

@IonKattTMCE I get that lol. But it does seem like the new direction for fighting games is to substitute motion inputs with single button skills. 2XKO is gonna have that. In fact, 2XKO doesn't even have an option for motion input specials.

@ I like that they are taking a more streamlined approach since the main reason I stayed away from fighting games before was the complexity of them. This games art style is just great as well which is why I was drawn to it. Also hope you got an A on this project.

@IonKattTMCE I'm not opposed to motion inputs, but yea having the option to have single button specials is the next step in accessibility.
Oh and I'm pretty sure I'm getting a good grade lol. I'm pretty sure I did way more than the actual requirements for the assignment.

Motion inputs are not so hard to do in most decent games, the big problem I have with them is how unnecesary they are. It feels like fake complexity.
However, once you have adapted to one fighting game, it gets easier to adapt to others, because the execution is not the real core: the true game is in the fast adaptation and decision making, in the mindgames, reactions and awareness. You get plenty of that in Rising.
For games that don't require motion inputs, try Tekken and choose any character that is not a Mishima (Or Kuma in T8). You will require simple diagonals, but half circles, dp motions an similar stuff is rarely used.
