This performance occurred on a tV special of Merv's just before Connie returned to Atlantic City after a lapse of time. Merv had her step in for Jack Benny and Henny Youngman when they canceled. The Resorts show was an astounding sellout for Connie.
@@Shrinksjp hi do you know what CD or album this song is on hopefully? Is it available? Do you have a great copy of this performance? Rare or unreleased songs? :) djsexyprincessjasmine@gmail.com
i remember this very well, the first time i met Connie was back in 1980 she was promoting her album i'm me again, and she was wonderful, i couldn't remember my name for her to sign the picture LOL. this was taped at Ballys grand in Atlantic City NJ, my ex and i heard she was going to be there, and we got in for the taping , but she was bumped to 2 days later, the securty guy remembered us and put us right in the front row, i was in awl of her , i never saw her perform live
You can tell that her voice still had some recovering to do. However, she has such a commanding "stage presence"! It is one that only a small handful of legends possess. It cannot be taught...you`re either born with it or not.
She gave this song just the right treatment and the arrangement is perfect for her voice and style!!! Still fabulous after all the years! I don't quite love the way she looked here...she reminds me of the way Kitty Carlisle Hart from To Tell The Truth used to dress and look!
@chompo7 hi i was in the front row for this taping , it was very exciting, because i never saw Connie perform live before this, but i did already meet her in person a few years back. she only performed this song , just this one, she was promoting her book Who's sorry now?
@@Shrinksjp Ok did she just perform this song only 1 time ever? Also is there hopefully a studio recording somewhere in the vault? In the early 2000s the fire that destroyed tons of universal music was a huge loss in music history... Did they lose Connie things? Hopefully someone knows. Ron Roberts never feels like answering any important questions so I hope another huge fan will
Hi can you try another edit now 10 years later for your exact original copy and not this copy so you can possibly get it better, some sound may have been stripped away during the first edit

Lucky you! One of the greatest singers ever in popular music for sure!
