@@Bonnie-wg4rd I blew the original ls1 that was in it so I sold it as a swap ready shell all he had to do was put an engine and transmission in it. I’m currently swapping another one an 86’ blue one however this is a 2+2 and I liked the cubbies better
I got the mounts for the swap from ronin speed works. It's a ls1/t56 from a f body camaro. It used the stock ecm and stock harness that wad modified. Had stock rear end and custom made driveshaft. The f body t56 shifter location works perfectly. I had a wilwood master for the clutch. Had ebay short tube headers. The ronin speed works kit makes easy work of the swap. For ecm I'd recommend going holley terminator.
I believe he just swapped over what he could from his wrecked 5th gen Camaro. This build overall cost him around $7K (includes what he bought the Camaro and the RX7 for).
I want to find an RX-7 to do this! I have a donor 2005 Silverado with the L33 engine. It's got 325k but it runs great, and with a freshen up it should be fine. It' seems to be hard to find RX-7's where I live
Any chance I get to do an LS Swap, I plan on doing it! 330 WHP in the RX-7 was impressive, the torque just gave you the feeling that you could control the back-end with your right foot. Highly recommend 👌
I'm building this now for a daily. Do you know the whp it is? Estimated 0-60 and 1/4mi? A 2022 mustang 5.0 does it in 4.2. And 12.2 so that's pretty damn fast
This LS1 RX7 dyno'd at 333 WHP. We were having clutch issues when I reviewed the car and it was on stock RX7 rubber. I wouldn't be suprised if it ran a mid 13 but with a better tire (and better driver than I) could break into the high 12's.
@@RAPauto nice. Mines going to be gutted so I want to lose 400 lbs at 350whp. You think that'd make low 12s with a good tire?. I'll sub to u. Did you post the interview you did with the owner?
@@chrisgriffin3992 totally depends on the gears of your T56, your diff ratio, your tire size and power you are putting down. There are a lot of calculators online to give you theoretical top speeds based on these factors.
At the time $2,000. It had a few things done that made the LS install easier like it already had motor mounts and transmission mounts in that could take the Camaro powertrain. Also came with exhaust and wheels/tires.
Sadly soon all combustion cars, bikes including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime (BABVVO=Bundesabgasbespassungsverbotsverordnung)!!!
Love the clean sleeper look
That’s my old car! I’m the one who originally LS swapped the car. Man I miss it!
Why'd you sell it, it will always led to regret sold my mint gen 2 mr2 and now I can't afford one in that condition 😂

I'm actually doing this swap myself, put me in touch with Alex so I can pick his brain about it!
I'll reach out and see if he would like his info shared!
@@RAPauto what drive shaft? Did he need to hammer anything to make it fit?

Splendid job! Did you consider Borla to knock out that drone?

i never want to doe this swap ,but rotary engines turboll are getting stupid expense,i will start mi ls swap ASAP
Love me some Rotary….but sometimes LS just makes sense 😎
Hello,
Did you swap the rear end when you swapped the engine and transmission, or you are running the same stock driveshaft and differential?
Stock diff and modified driveshaft
@@RAPauto Nice! Can, you please, tell me the place that modified your drive shaft!!?

did you google it? Seriously, i have a stock '89 FC that is in showroom condition (convertible) but not likely to give it up...😁
Could Alex make a thread with his build and such
He currently no longer owns the car but an overview of the build is in the video. Hope that helps!

You don't buy any or spend any money on cars that burn fuel oil I will I'll burn up all the fuel oil you'll leave me.fool
Live one day at a time bro when the ban comes it comes no use letting them stop you while these cars can still be driven
