You should be proud of your 1520. There really wasn't a reason to take it again in June. People would do anything for your Dec score.
Taosif Irfan no not really. I’m expected to get a 1600, and im already studying sat and i haven’t even entered high school yet. I’m preparing for college, and am planning to make my own company. I have Chinese immigrant parents and I’m expected to succeed now only in my school grades but succeed in life.
JackWinterBlade808 That doesn’t mean you HAVE to get a 1600 on the SAT, which will only take 3-4 hours of your life, in order to succeed in life. So many people succeed and accomplish so much in life even after getting below a 1000 on the SAT. Getting a perfect 1600 on the SAT is most definitely not the only way to succeed in life and quite frankly that expectation to get a 1600 is unrealistic and unnecessary. Yes, the test is important for college admissions, but so are the essays, extracurricular activities, transcript, GPA, teacher and counselor recommendation letters, and personal qualities, talents, and characteristics. If you do get a 1600, congrats. if you don’t, congrats.

As for the curve you were talking about, I also took the June sat and my score increased from before (it’s nothing like you score but I’m still proud of it).

I usually never comment but the stuff you were talking about for the SAT curve was just my life. I was a junior going into senior year in June 2018 and my score was extremely disappointing. However, be wary because I spent hours studying to retake and ended up getting my worst score of all of them in October. Collegeboard wants my money and I had to knock many schools off of my list because I wasn’t able to get a better score thanks to their horrible curve :)

I'm also a rising senior lol and I enjoy watching your vids. I know you might not be too happy with your SAT score and I know the pressure you feel being Chinese and stuff, but I hope you can realize that you'll probably be fine in the end! I've been doubting my self-worth a lot this year (esp. with having to study for the SAT and take it 3 times too), and have felt like a failure so many times in extracurriculars and etc. That feeling may not be completely gone but I've at least kind of accepted my situation. For my SAT experience, I guess the 3rd time was the charm for me though, because I got a 1550 and am now able to superscore to have a 1580 :). Hopefully everything turns out well for both of us and the other rising seniors. Good luck in the future with RUclips and college apps!

this gives me SOOO much anxiety because i have strict south asian parents and my dad legitimately expects me to get a 1600 the third time (got 1420 the last time) so he’s been making me prepare since the summer before freshman year :(( anyway your score is amazing and u should be super proud!! i watched the ads for u too 🤗
Hi Kate. First, off either one of your scores was outstanding. You should know that after a certain "threshold", the colleges won't care if you got a few extra questions right on the SATs. Just focus on knowing what you want out of your college experience and find a school that matches your interests. All the best to you!

take practice tests and go over your weak points
Remember to NOT STRESS OR PANIC!!! It's not the end of the world if you don't get your dream score! There are SO MANY OTHER COMPONENTS AND FACTORS in a college application considered by college admissions officers. In the meantime, take multiple practice tests!
You did well 👍🏻.I studied one week and only at the end of every day for the SAT and got 1110 which is actually not bad for someone who was studying English only 4 hours at week and live in an Arabic country and I was also preparing for my national exam . So the conclusion what really matters is how you prepare for it ,you should study in a smart way

My parents made me get test prep and I still would have loved to have gotten your scores. Im an incoming freshman at UCLA and I believe it was really my extracurriculars that got me accepted into all the schools I applied for. Looking back now I appreciate how we were fortunate to be able to afford prep and increase my score but colleges rather look for well rounded students than students with solely high grades and test scores.

I’m so glad I’m done with standardized tests
for everyone worried about the SAT, maybe try taking the ACT instead? i took the ACT once, got a composite score of 35, and got into UCLA for computer science. i never even took the SAT, just the PSAT. if you don't mind science, i think the ACT is a great option!
btw kate 1520 is still a really good score, please don't beat yourself up about it :(
