I lived in Puerto Rico from 1969 to 1971 (age 7 to 9) when my Dad was stationed at Ramey AFB. We lived in Mayaguez, Aguadilla, Annex 1, and A Street. I went to Hook Road and E Street Schools. My Dad was in the 53rd WRS. Annex 1 was at the very east end of the runway. I used to go stand at the fence and watch the B-52's.
Landed here in Jan. 63. Got on a school bus an was taken to Roosevelt Roads. It was an all day trip on the bus.
Stayed at Roosevelt Roads for 2 years 8 months. Discharged August 2/65 an flew back to States. Great duty at RRNS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still remember seeing the B-52`s taking off from Ramey in the 1960`s. My brother was in the Air Force and my family lived near by in Isabela. Ramey was also the place from which I left for Army duty and retured when honorably discharged. Thank you for this video.

I fondly remember B-52's taking off from Ramey AFB in the early 1960's.
My dad was base operations officer from 61 to 63, both Ramey and dad are gone and deeply missed.

I was stationed at Ramey 67,68 with the 53WRS, APG maintenance on the WB-47s. Great assignment and a truly wonderful place to live. Thanks for the videos, nice to revisit the area again.

Plane is from Minot AFB. I was stationed there 1986-96. I used to pack the deceleration parachute it uses when landing. Thats the sound of freedom.
I was at minot 63/66 and then Ramey 66/67 C/C 501 then Castle 67/68. then Utapao 68/69

I was a Kid when i live in Isabela and we heard it at night when they lift..the noise where like thunders....Ramey Airfield think is the biggest airfield in Puerto Rico the other I think is Roosevelt Roads in Ceiba in the eastern part of The Island. Ramey is in the Norhwest part of the Island in the city of Aguadilla

@franqui15m Si este tipo avion de estaba en P.R. la camara lo hace ver pequeno para decirte mas esta base esta desde la querra con Korea cuando el air force se llamaba army airforce.para la segunda querra mundial,vietnam tambien habia mucha actividad durante la querra fria.Se hico un ejercicio cuando despegaron 32 B-52 en aprox. 3min.Los lanzaron de 2 en 2. Con un tanker hay mismo en la playa para combustible.La base se puede activar para uso militar con to los power en menos de 24 hrs.
