Steve Hilton is exactly right on. Not one taxpayer dollar should be given to California with our safeguards and stipulations that the money will actually get into the citizens and not the pocket of California bureaucrat use it for other policies.

I've worked for a California state agency involved in the santa monica mountains area and I can verify that everything this man said is correct. CARB, California Coastal Commision, SSMC through their rules and regulations prevent any clearing of dead brush around properties. I've seen it happen first hand.

Born and raised in California and we never had such fires (after the 1906 earthquake/fires destroying SF). Now, I know that fire burned just as hot in the 1960's-80's, so why, after soooo many EPA "improvements" do we continue having these devastating fires year after year?? Something must have changed... ever notice how the People get poorer and the Politicians get richer?? 🤔

I am not sure we are actually voting at all. I register to track all our family’s balllots, They get counted about 2 to 3 weeks later after they announce all results.

I live in Napa Valley, California and in my town, it is illegal to catch and collect rainwater. My dear friend was reported by his Karen neighbor for doing it and he was given a cease-and-desist order and threatened with fines if he did not remove his rainwater collection system to feed his wonderful vegetable garden. We suffered for decades with drought and fires every summer. They are TRYING to kill us so they can take our land.
Idaho dropped insurance on people for not clearing land. Take care of your property folks!!! Controlled burns🔥💯✌🏽

I didn't even know what this video was going to be about when I clicked on it. However, I could tell instantly who the republican was with my eyes closed.
The timber industry was also kicked out of CA. That definitely didn't help either. At one point, people had jobs, and private industry cleared these areas. Now it's EXCLUSIVELY on the back of the taxpayer.
The difference here is that the timber industry was removing fire resistant, California-native vegetation that by removing actually made the situation worse. I believe what Mr Hilton is asking to be removed is the DEAD vegetation.
Many of Californian plants go dormant during hot and dry periods of time and end up looking dead.
Removing the dead material, either by coppicing (removing the top of the foliage but leaving the roots alone) or controlled burning is what should be done. Also, removing invasive species like eucalyptus trees and yellow mustard helps because those plants are flammable.
I think this is the type of mismanagement that Mr Hilton is actually talking about.

Karen Bass is the worst mayor in Los Angeles history. That is saying a lot. The trail for this disaster goes straight through her office and the people she hired to head LAFD and LAWDP. How do you justify a DEI hire for CEO of LADWP for $750,000 salary. A former executive with bankrupt PG&E. How can the CEO of LADWP not know the Santa Ynez reservoir is empty and has been for a year? Why did it take LAFD 44 minutes to respond to the original blaze? Why were water tankers not staged knowing the brush was super dry and the Santa ana winds were coming ? I am not a conspiracy theorist, but it just seems to be too many coincidences.
