Leadership authority comes from the practice of right principles. When the leader has humility in realizing the gravity of every decision he makes, the deep moral reflection and seeking of wisdom that's required will vastly increase the probability of right principles being practiced.
Equal and still with understanding that each person comes from different backgrounds but it is not the focus of how you are seen in doing your job. Your Merit and the knowledge and skill you possess is what's needed in the military. Its the core of what made this Country great!

There are plenty of combat veterans who end up at the Pentagon for one reason or another. For some it is a career opportunity, some it is a “filler” billet in between fleet jobs, some are there temporarily while dealing with matters that might make them non-deployable for a bit, and some are there just because they got orders whether they wanted them or not. They are not always the ones who work hard to get there so they don’t have to deal with the danger and hardships we deal with in the fleet.
