    My Kungsleden Pack List - everything that I'm bring for a September trip.
    Time of the year does make a big difference out there, and going in September means your clothing and gear needs to be a bit more sturdy.
    I did make some small last minute adjustments: I switched to an Exped Synmat Winter UL LW for some extra warmth.

    Great video . Useful tips . The rain cover that secures the backpack straps during air travel is a brilliant idea and the Hilleberg footprint bags , you've got me thinking of uses for those .

      Haha yeah you should use those bags - they’re quite nice and just laying around 😄

    Hi Rob! Thank for the amazing pack list! How did the sleeping bag end up to be with the temperatures? We are going in September as well and are looking into a quilt with -1 comfort. Will that be enough in combination with a Neoair Xlite?

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  Год назад +1

      Hey! Thanks. Happy you like it. Sleeping bag had a good temperature for me. If you’re a cold sleeper you could aim for -5 comfort.
      I would recommend a closed cell pad as well to protect the air pad, and also to add insulation if you let some air out of the neoair for added comfort. Check out yo[dot]no website for historical weather in Abisko, but keep in mind that once you’re in the mountains that weather forecast is not accurate. What you will see is that temps drop in September.
      Hope this helps ✌🏽

    This is a very complete packing list! Are there any items you would omit the next time?

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  2 года назад +1

      Yes. Less good and fewer spare clothes. Also did not need water shoes in September anymore.

    Nice video! Going there this August.
    Can you share the brands of the backpack rain cover, the rain jacket and the waterproof gloves please?

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  2 года назад +1

      Fjallraven Flight Cover 🎒
      Fjallraven Keb Eco Shell jacket & trousers 💪🏼
      Waterproof gloves were from Dechatlon. Simple over mittens - worked perfectly as they were not too thick.
      Good luck 💪🏼

    Nice. What’s the total weight of your pack without water ?

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  Год назад +2

      Oh don’t remember exactly but with food it was over 23kg…

  • @nvandijk88
    @nvandijk88 2 года назад +1

    What was the total weight of your backpack?

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  2 года назад

      Ended up being around 22kg+ including camera gear, 4kg of food and water and a (very large) gas canister. Went down to around 18kg. Those 4kg make a huge difference.

    That pack is going to be very heavy, even without the food. I’m more of an ultralight hiker so this was a lot haha. My backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and tent weighs less than your backpack. But I hope you have a nice trip anyway! Are you going to do a video of the hike?

    • @OutdoorPrep

      Oh brother it is super heavy. It was a hard journey and after 5 days I’m no longer feeling the backpack 🙈

    Recommend more large compeeds and less normal bandaids. Bit too many unnecessary items imo. Also thats a big lighter, lol.
