To those who ask if the paper would burn, a candle this size melts, it doesn't burn, only the inner core, so highly doubt that it would catch fire.
I started making these back in the 80's, now I also use fabric with LED candles. 😉
How do you use lights?
Excellent , made it so easy for us beginners ,,,,so grateful to people like u who arent selfish to educate others,,,its yur way of leaving us wit yur own footprints
I like this method because there are so many napkin designs out there to use. For your candle's mistakes, an easy fix is to take a candle of the same color, hold it above the sides of your candle and drip the wax down the sides of the candle all around it and in front of your design. You can also pull colors from your design and add drips of those colors to the top.
Another easy fix for the design is to hold textured fabric over the whole design, then use your heat gun to melt the texture into your picture, then remove it right away. This will leave a beautiful matte finish over your design and any mistakes won't be noticeable. If you've ever seen expensive professional photos printed with a finish over them similar to this you have an idea of what it will look like.
This is a great technique to use over pictures even without mistakes! It gives them an interesting texture that differs from the rest of the candle. I use this method a lot when I make people candles that have country themed homes, for people who work with fabric, as well as when I make candles for a new baby. Many people use the baby shower candles as decorations. They don't want to burn them. So, let's say for a girl, I will put a picture that matches the baby's room, a baby, praying hands, and the name and birthday of the baby on the candle then embellish it with appropriate items to match. The possibilities are endless. Because you do so much mixed media you would excel at this. You only need to learn to melt wax onto the embellishments instead of using glue. 🙂
this sounds genius but can you do a tutorial video? Im quite green about this idea
The flower design is beautiful on the candle. I have never seen this done before.
That was really amazing. I've never seen that technique been done before. It turned out beautiful, even with the little imperfections. This is a fabulous gift idea that I'm certainly going to try. Tfs.
I dread tutorials with a passion. Never watch tutorials but thanks so much for multitasking. This is so cool
Another beautiful idea for any season! Thank you Marta you’re are always inspirational! Hugs and love! ❤️ 💕
Wow! Simple yet stunning! Thanks Marta!
Back to one of your older videos! :-)
I didn't know this technique and definitely will try it out! Thank you for sharing the process and pointing out the little mistakes you made so we can try to do it beautifully ourselves!
Have a nice week!
Love from tiny Belgium xxx
That is absolutely gorgeous!!! I would love to try it. Thank you.
💖I wondered how this would work, I thought they were decoupaged, but this way it is part of the candle! Thank you for showing the "opps" it helps in two ways 1. It shows there is always a learning curve 2. It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.
And that the first won’t be too difficult! Thanks!💖
wow! I didn't know that's how it was done. Looks beautiful!
One lady said to use the oven. She was doing seashells. I got all the things needed, yay! You did great.
This is amazing! I used to actually carve the design onto the candle and then paint it! Craft I picked up while living in Colombia
Wowzer that is so beautiful, I actually have a candle making kit and moulds and may just try my hand at this. Thank you Marta
Wow that is so beautiful love this and plan to try as need new candle for Christmas centerpiece
I just love this idea!!! The candle looks beautiful!
Wow! This is a stunning idea! I'm so impressed!!
Wow I absolutely love this and I will give it a try!
Absolutely lovely. I was touched that you were willing to share the little mistakes that are part of learning any craft.
Like another lady here in the comments section, I saw this done with wax paper. A napkin wasn't used, but an inked up craft stamp on white tissue paper. If we are able to use our craft stamps, it gives us a lot of different options for design.
So, wax paper or parchment, napkins and /or ink stamped tissue paper? Any experience anyone has on this gratefully received. Now I am going to subscribe!
💖I love this technique!!! It came out beautifully..I have been having the idea to decoupage candles..and now I can make them so lovely 💕💕thank you for sharing!
Great tutorial! I always wondered how people decoupaged candles.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Looks very nice and well done. Thank you..can't wait to try again
.x
Its Beautiful thank you for the info and tips! Thank you very much for sharing!! Hugs Liz x
Simply gorgeous!!! I've never seen that technique before and always thought it too fiddly and messy to try. I absolutely hate fussy cutting especially with flimsy napkins, but this I will try for sure!!! Huge thanks and big hugs as always!
Eine schöne Technik. Vielen Dank für das Teilen.👏😺😻👍🎄
It looks very pretty, thanks for sharing!
That's cool watching the wax melt and seeing the color change of the napkin.
In love it ! I've a lovely robin serviette I can use !!! Soooooooo loving all your wonderful Xmas ideas x😊🎄🎁🎄🎁
Brilliant I like your honesty it helps us so much while we are learning and making mistakes etc! Thank you for sharing honestly with us! Best wishes 🎅
thank you so much for sharing . i am very inspired by the technique.
Thank you for such amazing tutorials!
Beautiful and fab video thank you so much. I like that you were honest about imperfections as so many you tubers portray false perfection. Well done ✨Louise and Emily ❤
Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this. I tried this once using a tutorial from the internet. The tutorial said to use waxed paper rather than parchment. It turned out OK but, of course, the waxed paper is bonded to the candle over the napkin and it does not look as lovely as yours. I will have to try making another candle using parchment paper. I used a hair dryer when making mine. Maybe it doesn't get as hot as the heat gun? I had no problems with melting the candle. Just be sure to keep the heat source moving over the candle.
I always wondered how they did that. Thanks Marta!
Wow! I bet these items are at the dollar store and can make some beautiful gifts for just a few dollars! Great idea, Marta!
Very helpful! Thanks for the tips.
I have seen this done before but not with the parchment paper. Thank you for sharing. I want to do these for Christmas next year for my family.
So pretty! I also like that it's not perfect and looks handmade😉😀. Thank you!
Utterly beautiful!
I have always wanted to try this but had no idea how to do it. I will give it a go. Thank you for your video.
Thanks so much have been wanting to try this 😁
This is beautiful, Marta, will look beautiful on your Christmas table,,,,xxxxx🌲☃️🎄☃️🎄
Very pretty And thank you for the thorough explanations!
This is so stinking cute!!!! I love that you never cut out the parts where your mistakes are. Makes you seem more human. Simple to make and your tutorial was on point as usual!! TFS!! ⛄XO🌲XO🎅XO🎄XO🎁XO❄
Awww thank you so much ❤️ 😊 😍 ❤️ 💕 ❤️ 💕
@@MaremiSmallArt what happened to the wax paper when candle Burns?
Yes I always appreciate the mistakes because I always make them and I don't know why because other people make it look so easy.
Beautiful like always!
Great for gifts for mother’s day.
Thanks for the demonstration
Well done and I’m so glad You correctly said serviette and not napkin as many do a napkin is made of fabric people a serviette is made of paper !
Thank you for sharing where you said it got to hot and etc. I have never done this but surely want to give it a try. New subscriber.
Thank you for showing that mistakes happens. And if we don't get it right at the first, it doesn't mean we cannot keep on trying. Nice!
Love it Marta. On camera, the flower looks really dimensional - as if it is still living inside the candle and is blooming out of it. Stunning. Happy accident as Mr. Ross would say. Good girl yerself! Love the way you're not afraid to try OR record your first try. I can't even get to trying some things let alone record a thing!!
thank you so much for this sweet comment :)
Love this. It was like watching magic happen as the napkin merged into the candle.
Fantastic, thanks for showing how to do this.
Yes! Great info. Thanks
Well done! Beautiful
Beautiful imperfection. 😍
I simply loved this ❤️
Love it!
Beautiful!
Beautiful thanks for sharing♥️
Beginners! Yay, thanks.
Beautiful!I love the napkin you used! I got to do this a couple times in home league! So much fun. Now that I have a heat gun I can do some at home! Thank you for sharing! God bless! Love hugs and prayers! O:-)
💝💝 I have seen those candles at botiques and craft fairs, but I never knew how they did this. Thank you for the tutorial. I love your candle, mistakes and all. Handmade art is not supposed to be perfect. 💝💝
Fabulous 🧡
Loved it 😍😍
So very pretty and a great ideatfs
Lovely! Thank you.
Beautiful work
Marta, have you ever made shadow box? I think it would be a very interesting idea for Christmas 🎄 🥰😀♥️
Wow easy but soooooo beautiful

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Very nice job for first try!
Very pretty!
I have never tried candles. Beautiful.
love it
Preciosísimo... Muchas gracias por tu trabajo y enseñanza...el Señor te bendiga grandemente muchos besos desde Sevilla España
Great explanation love ur voice💖💖💖
Pretty design. I did something similar where I printed a design on tissue paper and used wax paper because that's how I had on a lil white candle. I used a hair dyer as well. It's tricky but I love it, so I'll never burn it. Nice to see another approach to making those :)
instablaster.
Hi , hope you don’t mind ma asking. But would love to know how you do printing on tissue paper? It would be so great to do that 😀
@@dinekeketelaar9993 Hi there! I recall straightening out the tissue paper so its nice and smooth. Then I taped the corners to a blank white piece of paper as backing. Select the design and print. Depending on your printer, you might have to put face down or up. You kinda have to watch it to make sure it comes through, be gentle when peeling off. I also let it dry for a while just to make sure the image set. I found the idea on The Graphics Fairy site. I hope you have fun! :)
just be careful when burning the candle. Accidents has happened when the napkin caught fire when you burn the candle. Better to use transfer sheets designed for candles. But to just decoration this is amazingly beautiful 💙♥❤
good idea. thank you kindly for this great tip !!
I was thinking exactly the same thing. Love how it looks the decoupaged candle but considering the risks of catching an unwanted fire, then I’ll get a white candle, the ones that come with a clear glass vase , and decoupage the vase😁😁
There's special candle decoupage glue which allows you to burn the candle safely
Old Hag73 its battery operated lol
Old Hag73 oh actually you are right it's a real candle! Yes this can't be burnt because it's dangerous! X
Came out cute.
Very pretty Marta,
Hey Maremi I was inspired to do your method and mine came out perfect, I used two methods a hair dryer and then a tea light candle with a spoon method both turned out really well. Thanx so much 💓👏🏼 - Hannah UK
When you say tea light candle and spoon method do you light the bottom of the spoon via the tea light and place it up there?
What a great idea! I wonder if you could do the same with dried flowers. BTW, I love how you change the lights on the table. Almost every video, you have different Christmas lights. What a wonderful touch!
Yay thank you. I am glad you noticed 💡💡💡💡💡💡💡
I think dry flowers will work 🌸🌸🌸
OMG so beautiful!!💗💗💗💗 I really want to try to make my own candles, because I always buy them but it's not that fun 😊😋
I like to make special gifts with candles friends will enjoy, At Christmas I make a candle to match a small wreath as a gift for the table!
Precious!
Nice to c....u r presenting it well...
So many new things to try! You are truly outdoing yourself! What ever will I do? There are only 14 days till Christmas! So much fun to be doing these with my friends!
Happy you like my Christmas vids 🎥🎥🎥🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Very, very pretty
Beautiful
This is the best thing i discovered in crafting. Candles cost $30 a pop, now. I remember those Yankee candles were like $9 not so long ago
NICE!
very nice!
Just beautiful love learning with you hugs. Could you go over the happy accident to melt it?
This turned out so so pretty. I will definitely try. I have decoupaged on other things but, not the candles.
I have 2 questions: do I need to put a primer before sticking the napkin?
Will I be able to burn the candle or its just for show?
Thanks so much for sharing.
Lovely
¡Precioso y muy bien explicado! Your English is very good. Say "Hi
to Geño. :)
look beautiful - you used a beautiful flower napkin - tfs patrizia
I would think you could put the parchment paper back on, apply low heat and gently smooth the rough spots. A beautiful first try that I would be very proud of!
Could I use a hair dryer? I don't have one of those heat guns.
I cant believe i never knew this was a thing. Those candles cost me $30 a pop now. I remember when you can buy real pillar candles for $10 and it wasnt that long ago
