Sir, you are brilliant! You are keeping a magical art form alive, teaching it to others in an accessible, fun format and incorporating new technologies. Invaluable stuff, Thank you!
Greg, what a fantastic build from start to finish. Your craftsmanship is second to none. Thoroughly enjoyed the build and the narrative clear and understandable. How it should be. Well done fella, exempelary
Looks absolutely stunning! Amount of work to make old kits nice is absolutely insane. For panel effect specifically, I like pre-shading a bit better for metallics. In my opinion oils change metallic sheen a bit too much while pre-shading with black/grey/white/brown give very similar sheen but different tone and provide excellent base for weathering. Or maybe I use wrong oils.
Superb build. I really like it when people add to the basic kits to make unique models and include some scratch building. Also I feel that the longer a kit keeps you occupied the more value you get from it. I recently built the 1/24 scale ICM Model T car but the kit was constructed a bit like a diecast car with no chassis. I ended up scratch building a chassis and much more detail. it kept me busy for nearly 6 weeks.
I really like the yellow and black Greg it might have gone pear shaped but of course it didn't . Thanks marra for taking the time to make these vids it gives a lot of us access to someone with top model making skills who doesn't mind showing how its done , good bloke . Regards Gav.
Thanks Gav, it's been a while since I made a video. When the weather is this good it's hard not to take advantage, plus there's always something in the garden that needs doing. Stay safe my friend.
Just to echo the last comment, your Patience your calm approach makes it therapeutic. I love watch your videos with a glass of red. Can’t wait for the next one. Jase
I bought a number of these kits over the years and all still languish in my stash as they do scare me. That said I bought them because they are a skill challenge to stretch myself beyond a kit that simply falls together. Love the video as it gives me a bit of courage to look at these kits again and try to expand my skills.
Thanks Greg, for another superb build. Your cockpit canopy masking is perfection, and that underside is spectacular. It's not a subject I would have chosen, but seeing the result it makes for a really obscure, and therefore fascinating, little glimpse of British aviation history.
Gregg absolutely wonderful build , amazed at your scratch building of parts and the cross kiting , and the stunning finish and final result ! Extremely inspiring video , thank you for sharing this 👍👍
Great final finish and some lovely scratch building along the way. You do seem to enjoy making life difficult for yourself, but it is always worth it in the finished kit.
I love your videos not only for the stunning scratchbuilding, modification and conversion skills but also for the dry humour that often comes thru in them. Amazing work!
Been very slow to respond to this one - but definitely my favourite so far! An aircraft that I really want to build for myself in that TT scheme. As ever you have done a cracking job - it looks fabulous.
Wonderful build. Not my subject , but it doesn't matter. The execution of the work is what matters to me, not whether it's something I would or wouldn't build. Also, by watching builds of different subjects, I get to see different building and painting methods which can only help me grow as a modeller. Many thanks for sharing this build.
What a fine job you made of this one, It took a lot of thought and creativity to see this through. A great looking build, I fully enjoyed seeing it from start to finish. Thanks, Greg. Patrick
Wow. This is another absolutely fantastic build of yours. I always admire your work with these challenging older kits. The end result is literally breathtaking. Have a nice weekend Greg. Greetings, Aleš 😎👍
@@GregsModels Thanks for asking my friend. I am currently on vacation with my family at my weekend cottage. Have a nice day. I will look forward to your next projects 🙂👍
@@GregsModels Yes, the weather is absolutely perfect. I go fishing, swimming and playing tennis with my daughters. In short, optimal rest from everyday worries. Have a great time Greg.
Gorgeous build! I love the 'cut and shut' nature of the work - but for me it's the paint job that sets this apart. I hate doing bare metal finishes because they never look quite right - but having seen this I think I may be copying your process...
Absolutely amazing too watch your eye for details is second to none Greg. Also your perseverance with the imperfections and rectifications is also a pleasure to observe. Fantastic build sir
Greg. Again you knock out another amazing build! Brilliant! I would love to see what you could do with a modern kit, say a Tamiya P38 or alike. Thanks for you time an effort in this channel. CHEERS!
Always a pleasure to watch and to learn from. Ive a couple of BMF EE Lightnings to finish and your tips using oils to vary shades is new to me😊 So I’ll give that a bash! Thanks, Ian
This is fantastic modelling Sir! I have always loved the Classic Airframes kits, I’ve still got a couple in my stash including the Mk1 Blenheim and Defiant (which are essential if I’m ever going to finish my Allied (well non-German as I liked the Italian stuff) Battle of Britain 1:48 builds). I’d love to see the average modern Tamiya builder giving himself a hernia trying to build this one.
Odd about that tape residue. Just finished a model with AK Xtreme aluminum and used various sizes of Tamiya masking tape on top for invasion stripes. No residue from the 6mm or 10mm width tape, but the 18mm tape left lots of residue. Don't know why the 18mm tape left residue but the other sizes didn't. You taught me a trick about soap and water to clean up the residue. I used IP alcohol to clean the residue and it didn't hurt the paint. Might have been lucky, I like the idea of soap and water for cleanup much better. Another beautiful model you finished Greg. AAA+++
@@GregsModels All your builds are fantastic, I have the next spitfire on pre order too, I can’t wait for it to arrive, I’ll definitely look forward to your build of this kit👍
Once again, as always a truly amazing build. Your execution of techniques and eye for detail is second to none. Easily the best modeller on RUclips. Bravo sir! 👏. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent, it inspires me to keep improving. Take care.
Its been a while since your last video and i can now see why thats another Great model Greg. I wish I had some of your patience and attention to detail. Keep up the good work and best wishes from NZ.😉
@@GregsModels I agree. They did the types I like. I have dozens, but so far just did an F-5A in South Vietnam marks- a great little kit, you should try it.

Awesome build Greg. Just one question: what's the sanding sponge you're using for your prep on the black surface? I've been using infini sponges but always looking out for options...
Lovely work, but one quetion: do I understand correctly that you bought a superiour version of the kit for parts to improve the other one? Why not just build the Airfix kit?
For me, this is the best modelling channel on you tube. Thanks Greg and keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍
Definitely the best modelling channel because you show so many techniques and custom building of parts. Another beautiful build.
Your rendition of this type is superb. Your skills and eye for detail has produced a museum quality model.
Absolutely amazing! I like the fact that you don't just build the flavor of the week. Pretty cool stuff.

Awesome build Greg. Just one question: what's the sanding sponge you're using for your prep on the black surface? I've been using infini sponges but always looking out for options...
It's a very very well worn foamed backed 600 grit bought from B&Q. But please experiment with this technique as its so easy to burn through the paint.
@@GregsModels Thanks - and thanks for the warning!
Does this count as a kitbash?
Jokes aside it’s working out pretty well.
Lovely work, but one quetion: do I understand correctly that you bought a superiour version of the kit for parts to improve the other one? Why not just build the Airfix kit?
If I understand correctly Airfix don't make a 1/48 NF or TT yet. My idea was to cannibalize, upgrade, as much as I could from the newer Airfix kit.
