@@Djunnyy I use any available, when I do the wash and go. What I would advise is to purchase a small size of any brand that is reasonable or cheap. The consistency should be like a watery gel. The curl activator is high in glycerin, so it adds moisture to dry hair, or is good for person who live in low humidity places. TEST YOUR HAIR FIRST (before actually using) lightly moisturize your hair use small sections about 3" square apply and leave to dry If it's not moist/use more If its sticky/ use less when you find out how much your hair needs, you can use it under your eco style, wet line or whatever gel your hair likes. PROCEED WITH CAUTION as too much of a curl activator can leave your hair sticky. But when you find the right balance, you can even use it after a moisturize for puffs or any style.
Details on the dryer please? Would love to see which one you use, especially as your hair now has a good shape. The hooded dryer caps on Amazon require you to essentially tie your hair upwards which I can imagine sets the style like that/ruins it

Uncle Funky Daughter is the truth! Oh you use a second gel? I think that’s where I go wrong. My day 2 hair looks bad, and have to throw it up in a high puff. 🌳

Also it appears that natural hair products are going back in the direction of being less affordable...did I hear you say that bottle cost you $50 dollars??? I've been natural since 2006 back when natural hair products were less accessable and you either were making your own products or ordering them online at riduculous prices...I see we're going back to that...and I'm not happy about it...
The Uncle Funky's Daughter curly magic SALON size, 32 oz @ $50 will last me nearly six months. I've been using it for wash and go's for nearly 3 yrs now. It's the best! You do not have to purchase that. The 12 oz bottle is like $16. The price reflects the ingredients list...no cheap ingredients. Laila stated that she uses the product like crazy so that's why she invested in the salon size. Same for me, because nothing holds water in my hair like the UFD curly magic as my base styler. And the hold is not crunchy at all. It definitely gives a firm hold, but once you start to fluff out your hair you get a soft, wash and go that can last for 5 to 7 days. UFD recently reformulated the ingredients which now includes glycerin as the 2nd ingredient, as well as hydrolyzed wheat protein and jojoba oil high up on the list. So I doubt I'll continue to use it at this point. Disappointing, but I don't need protein in my styler. Time to find another staple styler.

The curl activator, causes the eco not to get hard.
