My mom had her plastic surgery locally done and still died from a blood clot after having three heart attacks. It doesn't matter where you have it done you could still die. The surgeons had done so much to her. We miss her every day and have to see her in a graveyard now.

I had a rhinoplasty one month ago in my home country, the UK, with an ENT plastic surgeon, and it was one of the easiest and best things I’ve done in my life! I have a beautiful tiny nose with a slope and only for 5k. Don’t go abroad for these things, it’s not worth it. Stay at home.

US licensed medical doctor here.(non plastic surgeon and no competitive interest) 7 years of plastic surgery training does not mean 7 years experience doing one specific procedure. An obgyn doc is a surgeon also with at least 4 years surgical/operative training. it is possible that with specific training this surgeon can do certain procedures as well as plastic surgeons. the dominican string of morbidity / mortality due to plastic procedures is worrisome but does not mean surgery in general is unsafe abroad. as in USA it is important to do research and know about the place you choose. plastic surgeon friends have mentioned brazil as having a highly esteemed reputation especially the Dr Pitanguy clinic/ residency program. Dr Pitanguy is known in academic plastic surgery circles as "the father of plastic surgery" Numerous doctors have gone to brazil to train and or learn new procedures. I personally have had medical / dental care in south america and asia that i would rate as very high quality. That issue in Colombia sounds very "fly by night" and is NOT representative of the quality of medical care in Colombia. I had LASIK surgery in Colombia at a state of the art ophthalmologic hospital. The German made laser they used was at the time more advanced then lasers used in America. In addition the room used for LASIK was a full on operating suite. Temp controlled, ventilation, filter, room cleaned and sterilized with high power UV stack lights before surgery. A friend of mine did the Pitanguy residency.

I disagree about not getting checked. I was turned down due to scar on fibrosis. I tried to bribe other doctors to do surgery but they refused. There's no way for the surgeons to do it if the patient is not healthy enough. Dr Lavigne is right that the success of the surgery depends on the anesthesiologist not just tge surgeon. The surgical materials that are used.
5k is such a small amount of money. I could not ever imagine valuing my life at 5k… That is what I see when I hear about these cheaper procedures. Even 10k doesn’t seem enough to assure my safety and health…my life 😓
I had to get my gallbladder and appendix out. I didn't even want to do that. No matter the surgery, anytime someone is putting you under and cutting on you, you never know. Very sad.

Most of the times they don't do they're research they just book with the cheapest doctors. There are a lot of good plastic surgeons in DR with no deaths you just have to make sure to do your research correctly just like any other doctors

I think we as a society need to have a realistic conversation about this. 1. if someone is willing to die for a surgery, what makes you think telling them to love theirs elf is going to stop them? Statistics, ..Statistics say a significant amount of more conventionally attractive people are hired for jobs than vice versa. and even speaking from personal experience, I'm just treated better when I look more attractive. All of a sudden a door is opening for me, I used to get sooo many tips when I put effort into my looks at work. people will literally just offer to take care of you. When you're ugly you may as well be invisible. Its like people don't even know you're there. If I keep going about the way I'm treated when I look beautiful vs when I dont id be here forever. People are literally just nicer to you. Why does noone want to talk about this? 3. I've been in therapy for yearsssss, guess what? I still don't like my saggy boobs. I still don't like my saggy face. I still hate my wrinkles. I have alot of saggy skin on my forehead to the point it gives me headaches, so I want some of the extra skin cut off. SO IM GETTING THE SURGERIES. That’s bc the doctors in the US follow the proper state board guidelines and only take out a healthy percentage of fat....DR they do not follow these same guideline and I know this for a facts bc my cousin had surgery in DR and almost died due to developing blood clots! Dr doesn’t even have high tech equipment! Surgeries aren’t even performed in hospital they are done at offices and centers ....stay in the damn US ppl

in USA there are horrific cases of young people having plastic surgery with board certified plastic surgeons also with terrible outcomes. google "Thornton Teen Brain Damaged After Cosmetic Surgery" 18 years old. numerous other similar cases. true i do not have exact statistics of complication rates USA versus Dominican Republic.
Other countries have the same board certifications , you just need to look for it as you were looking in the american Society of plastic surgeons , so is as easy as in the states

Im not gonna lie, I want a fat transfer to my hips and butt because I have a body type that gains and keeps weight in my mid section and back, no gym and diet can only take me so far. Trust me this is why I chose to be in hotel not in RH. She has breast augmentation. It takes time to be able to get back your strength to lift.
