Great reviews. I just found your channel and have some kilt experience but not with utility kilts. Now that Utilikilts is up to $360+ in the inflation of 2024 with Kiltman being $180 or less still, would you still recommend the Utilikilt Workman? Is it worth the added price difference with that switchback waist adjustment? Thanks
I'd go with the Kiltman for sure. The quality of the two are very close. I've put a serious beating on my Kiltman over the years and it's still going strong.
Been just going with 5.11 tacti-kilts for a few years and just last week placed order for my first utilikilt (workman). From what I’ve seen on your reviews, its going like night and day upgrading to a quality kilt.
I don't own a 5.11 but I know people who do and they all say good things about them. I know there is a huge difference between the lower cost brands and the Utilikilt or Kiltman kilts. The material is heavy so the kilt weighs quite a bit more which may take some getting used to. I think you will be impressed after wearing one for a while, especially once it's broke in and loosened up. If you've ever worn Carhartt bibs or jackets you know what I'm talking about. They are stiff at first but once they get loosened up they are awesome, these kilts are made of the same type material.
I'm looking to get into the world of kilts but I'm a little hesitant to drop $100+ on one. What is your opinion on Damn Near Kilt Em? I ask simply because I want something affordable to test the waters with before committing to a more long-term investment.
Damn Near Kilt'em is an excellent place to start if you are wanting to get into kilts but don't want to break the bank. I haven't worn one but I have friends who have and they have been satisfied with them.
