Hey, awesome. I followed your step by step, straight to the point, videos and fixed my kart. Removed the governor and set it up the way you said. Goes GREAT! And it also fixed my problem of my engine idling so high it kept engaging the centrifugal clutch and had to ride the break to slow it up. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. ♥️❤♥️

Just a quick addition you could carefully wiggle the governor arm off by the crank and cut off the elbow below the two crimped wings. Then reinstall just the straight shaft into the case to use the external governor arm for your throttle. By removing the elbow portion you wont have to worry about the arm contacting the crank shaft and its a lot easier than tapping the hole for a screw. I did also remove the plastic gear just for insurance also. Looked fragile since I was inside the case already.

Considering the time, and chance to just generally ruin something internally, [lose a washer, cause an oil leak, get 'junk' into the crankcase] what are the advantages of actually removing the sensor rather than just unhooking it electronically from the outside? With the same thought in my, why go inside the engine to actually remove the governor internal when it can be bypassed externally? Looking forward to your reply.

Hey it’s a year late but oh well. If you just bypass the governor without removing the plastic gear internally, the gear has a good chance to let go of the metal weights and fling them where you don’t want them. No good.

Can i just replace the flywheel with a billet or do i HAVE to upgrade the pistons and cam to keep up with new flywheel? money is tight so i dont wanna upgrade the rest if i dont totally have to.

I have a manco thunderbird I've been playing around with. I put a 212 on it and the original gearing is insanely tuorquy. I'm pretty shure someone good at wheelies would have a blast on it. Id like to speed it up a bit to keep up with the guys i ride with while where on road and flats. The rear sprocket is a 72 tooth and the clutch is a 10 tooth. I'd rather change the clutch out than the rear sprocket being that the clutch will probably end up needing to be changed before too long anyways. And I can swap the original pretty easy to take my kids for rides. I found a gearing calculator online and punched in my specs and a 12 tooth in the front don't make much difference with that big sprocket on the back. But a 14 tooth will get me up to about 45. I need to get a 1" sleeve for the shaft to do that and I'm pretty shure they don't make a 3/4 with a 14 tooth for a reason. I just can't figure out why. Will it stress the engine too much?

I removed the governor and oil sensor on a brand new predator 6.5 predator engine that has never been started before and it won't start. I have the switch turned on the run position I have the gas turned on and the Choke on the start position fresh gas and oil is filled. The only thing I can think of is when I was removing the governor the cam shaft fell out I matched up the two small dots I didn't know if it couldve thrown off my values. Any suggestions thanks I don't have it hooked up to a kill switch yet also and oil sensor is removed

I know this video is several years old but whatever I screwed up today while trying to remove my Governor and stock Cam. I really didn't want to go through the process of removing the Engine itself from the frame of the mini bike so stupid me just left the engine in the frame like it normally is and bike just leaning on it's kickstand. I opened the side cover up and first played around with the governor gear until it finally came lose and i pulled it out with needle nose pliers but when i shined my flashlight in there to make sure i got it all out there was still a piece of white plastic sitting behind where i just took the gear off. Then i tried to remove that little swing arm that sits in front of the governor gear by cutting that little black piece that holds it in place from the top of the engine but i didn't cut it flat against the base where the engine is i cut it about an 8th of an inch above the engine and was gonna tap it down till it fell through with a hammer but i couldn't achieve that yet either cause there wasn't enough room to swing a hammer in that tight little space being the engines still in the frame gas tank in the way and other parts. Then after that i pulled out the stock Cam cause i wanted to stick my new Mod 2 Cam in it's place but as soon as i pulled out the stock cam one of the valve rods slid and fell out before i could catch it and keep it in place lol. I was getting so frustrated at that point i said to myself i should have just taken the damn engine outta the frame and none of this crap would be happening to me right now. Then i just said screw this and i left it sitting there in pieces and walked away from it. I have no idea now how to get that valve rod thing to sit properly in the far hole it fell out of cause i can barely see anything from the side point of view to begin with and even if i do manage to slide the rod back up the hole how do i make it stay up there long enough to get the new cam in place so it can prevent the valve rods from coming out ? I'm totally new to this stuff and feel like i definately bit off more than i can chew here. My poor mini bike is disassembled all over the barn floor and i have to figure out how to put everything back together now. I should have just left it alone but trying to find a mini bike mechanic who knows what the hell he is doing in my neck of the North Carolina woods is proving to be a real challenge. I'm in a small Town called Pinnacle near Pilot Mountain and Mount Airy and Winston-Salem. If anybody happens to know or you are yourself a mini bike mechanic or just know how to do the typical mini bike mods and you're around these areas PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know and i will pay you cash to get my bike modded and put back together again. I'll even throw the bike in the back of my Ram1500 and bring it to you !!! I thought by watching enough how to videos on you tube that i'd be able to pull it off but i be wrong this time lol. Somebody Please Help Me.................. :(
