If you want to see real simple authentic beautiful calm and soothing Thailand then do visit Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, and many adjacent part of provinces across Cambodia and Laos border …. I just visited those places this year and it heal my soul…..love Thailand

My buddy and I will be in Bangkok in September. We are very excited! I’m sure that it’s a lot cooler in Thailand. I’m in Texas and it hits over 100 degrees regularly during this time.
Chiang mai just more like a country side with lots of accent temples but point to point quite far apart ofcause there's a huge mall name CENTRAL FESTIVAL same management of CENTRAL WORLD. Surrounding with some night markets like street FOODS n pubs. 4 days 3 nights just nice unless u want to visit lots of accent temple but need to book grab n travel alot . The hotel I stay is THE CORE . Simply 3 star but the lobby n reception is actually designed as a pub which feel difference from other hotel n right outside the hotel already 1 night market
If u like MMA or UFC than u knew who's BUA KAW . His training gound is at chiang mai but at mid mountain yet need to travel. Its good that u book a car for whole day than u able to visit not like Bangkok all shopping mall only walking distance

Last weekend i was in Bangkok and no rain at all.. and when you want to visit ko Samui cheap, take the night train to Surathani, its fun! And surathani is a great city, stay there also 2 or 3 nights, also great shopping malls (what you like I think) and beautiful environment! Have fun!
I love how Thai's just have those bin liners for coats. I remember my 1st trip during rainy season I was struggling with a heavy Air Force style great coat. Much to the amusement of the locals 'Ting Tong farrang' That said I also remember being in a beer bar at Pat Pong. The rain just wouldn't stop and the road got wetter and wetter. Eventually it was a good few inches deep and to my horror the cocktoaches decided to head for higher ground. This unfortunately was the bar I was in. It was like a scene from a movie as hundreds of the buggers invaded.
Was a bit worried about rain ☔️ in Krabi last week .. nothing , nowt , no rain , in fact got a bit burnt. Was so hot 🥵. Unlike Bangkok it had a nice breeze too. Love the rain ☔️ time. And yes only for 1/2 hours .. hotels yeah cheap in low season paid for a 4 star hotel , 4 nights 2700b 😮 inc breakfast..
Do remember taking airplane from BKK to Samui. Very expensive. Also you must deal with taxi mafia when landing the Samui Airport. Last few times however, I took the train (sleeper car) to surat thani and then bus and ferry to the island. Personally, really enjoyed the trip, if you have time to do it. Never take that bus, it's a total drag. Also they played the TV constantly and you were forced to listen to different Thai TV shows the whole trip ... torture.

southeast asia has very nice modern cities now but the problem is the heat ...from manila, bkk,kluala lumpur...down to gorgeous singapore, it was like swimming in a hot soup...i dont think i can retire there now...california it is for me not too hot and not too cold

I just came back of 4 weeks Thailand . Bangkok, Ko Samui, ko Phangan, kao sok. And only 2 days of rain...
Last weekend i was in Bangkok and no rain at all.. and when you want to visit ko Samui cheap, take the night train to Surathani, its fun! And surathani is a great city, stay there also 2 or 3 nights, also great shopping malls (what you like I think) and beautiful environment! Have fun!

Bangkok is just such a fun city in general no matter the season. I have heard of so many remote workers moving here.
