If you download the IPSW and do a shift+restore it will process a lot faster. That may be your problem if iTunes is trying to download the file and it is taking too long. Otherwise you might have a hardware problem like maybe an intermittent charging port issue.

It's not easy but as long as you haven't upgraded to 6.1.3 it should work. Precise timing is crucial.
DO NOT USE 112 IN THE US! IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY REDIRECT YOU TO 911! Use 000 instead (it's the emergency number in Australia).

if you need it to turn back on hold the power button for like 2 minutes or so and it might turn on.
