You should really let the battery rest an hour or so after taking off the charger to let the voltage settle and then test with a load tester for more accurate results. Really appreciate the review, keep em coming👍
I just got the 35 amp model and am charging 4 new LiPO4 batteries. One of the batteries isn't charging correctly & the charger gave a failure code 42, described in the manual as "Output current over current". I wonder what that means? Should I try it in "force charge" mode? I should probably contact the store I purchased them from to see what they recommend.
@@FarpointFarms I tried charging it a few more times without success. I don't know much about these batteries, but it seemed like a perhaps some of the individual cells were so imbalanced that the overcharged cells wouldn't allow the charger to fill the undercharged sells. I decided to try draining some current using a 12 volt battery load tester. I also connected an amp meter to ensure it didn't pull too high an amperage. It drew about 80+ amps for about 10-15 seconds. That cured the problem. 👍
I got my Vevor 450C today. I'm going through the manual, reading all of it, and it's not quite English, it's more Engrish. You can get the idea but it's not entirely clear. I'm going to study it for a little (maybe a day or so) and then get to wall current at a friends and start desulfating one of the 2 batteries I've got. To see if I can get them to charge over 12.5 volts.
I've got a couple AGM batteries for my solar system in my camper that I have abused for quite a few years. I was intending to replace them with LiPos but if I can spend $71 and get more life out of them, why not?
@@FarpointFarms Lithium batteries have come down a lot in price and gone up in storage capasity but still, if I can fix them for $71 bucks it's worth a try. I can't get them to charge above 12.5 as it is but with the 400watts of solar I've got now (replacing the 80w panel the camper came with) they never go below 12volts anymore.
@@FarpointFarms I believe he was pointing out that the tester was showing "state of health", not "state of charge" as you stated. State of charge is exactly what one would assume while state of health is more like an indicator of how much the battery's lifespan is remaining. Your tester will likely show both of those measurements as well as the internal resistance, try pressing the right arrow or enter again next time you test a battery. Good review nonetheless.
Seems like this would pay for itself really fast. I live over the hill from a battery manufacturer and even the small lawn mower batteries are almost the price of this charger. Often they have blemished batteries that you can get for less, but they are still pricey.
That looks like a great charger. I have the NOCO one in the shop. I may get that one. Like the 24V setting and 6V as well. That de sulfate setting may shut off when complete . I have that in NOCO charger . Some batteries just will not recover. in lead type it is the plates. once they crumble there's nothing left but recycle them for now. This will be great for large tractor battery that does not get used much. Much smaller than my old wheeled one with heavy transformer. It has auto setting . and is 6V 8V 12V 24V lead only. haven't used it in years last time was for 8V battery. The maintenance mode is great for like a plow truck and only use when snow piles up and it sits in the cold. just be careful with small lead battery like in ATV or scooter. I have NOCO 1 amp one just for that . Vevor may have one.
They do have a trickle type maintainer charger that works with up to 4 batteries at the same time. I haven't tried it, but I did see it on their site. I'm planning on pulling all my batteries one at a time and letting this thing work some magic. Fingers crossed that I can squeeze some more life out of my older lawn mower batteries.
Since filming, I have used this on a lawn mower battery that just wouldn't take a charge past 50%. This one ran 24 hours and now it's up in the 80% range and tests good. I don't know what magic is in there, but it works!
Ok, now I've got it figured out. Amazon has Vevor chargers, but they only have the GS280C that's the 20amp charger, not the 35 amp charger. So anyone looking for this one, you're not getting it on Amazon. Oh, and they're out of stock on your link from Vevor. No surprise there.
I got the 450c and tried it out on my 2 AGM 100ah batteries that wouldn't charge over 12.5 volts. Took them both out,. charged them, desulfated them and , no change. Wasted $90 bucks but now I have a 35 amp charger that will charge the new lithium batteries I buy to replace these when they totally crap out (that probably won't need to be charged). I've need a charger once in 10 years, but didn't really because I have ins to cover that. It was a relatively cheap test because a battery place is going to say they need to be replaced, pretty much no matter how they test. I'm a little disappointed.
They way I see it is this- If it worked on every battery, they would be no use in buying new ones. I feel like it is meant to get a little more life (6mo to 2 years) before needing a new one. I am sorry that you feel disappointed.
@@FarpointFarms I'll get over it. I would be interested to hear if anyone gets results on lead acid or AGM batteries that were over discharged for a long time. Good or bad results.
@@Maxid1it may not work on gel batteries. I just got the 35 amp to replace a 10 amp and I'm running a test on a completely dead battery that the 10 amp didn't fix but with that 10 amp I have fixed multiple completely dead batteries that the harbor freight one didn't fix and just flashed repair. Hopefully we'll fix the dead motorcycle battery that had 3 volts to start did not fix. I'm going to make a video pretty soon comparing a bunch of different types of chargers and what I've had success with and what one would do that the other wouldn't do
@@gunnutz2030 My batteries are AGM, not Gel. It's got a specific setting for AGM. The Vevor charger is kind of junk. The fan never worked and I had to screw with the settings a while to get it to do what it was supposed to do. It wouldn't run the program and wouldn't auto recognize I was charging a 12 volt and kept switching to 6v. Turning the auto function off fixed that glitch. I see all this crap on youtube saying this will do one thing or another, I guess it's time for me to stop trying it. It's all a profit scam now.

I think that code is a battery error code, I would reach out to where you bought it. If you force it, you could damage the battery or worse.

I just attached a supercapacitor set to the car battery and it just revives the car battery whenever i do a cold cranking
Interesting way of doing it

So did it fix the battery or not?
It has worked 1 of the 3 batteries that I have tried it on. That being said, it did save me from having to buy a new battery

If this would only work on a persons health
