Thanks Jay!! For those of us that are not as mobile as we would like to be and have a fond recollection of old Florida, you make it possible to re-live some of the old memories.
Thank you so much for watching! I plan on continuing this series and look forward to creating the next one. Ahead is the link to the last episode in case you missed it. Thanks for watching, everyone! Have a great day! Much ahead. ruclips.net/video/oL7iERX7RI0/видео.html
I really appreciate your videos, but what made me a new subscriber is your messages at the end of the videos. Thanks for that Jay, you will never know how much that helped me.
I was raised across from Virginia's Western Wear was a clothing store and in the early 60's The Red Top Grocery. The church beside it was a bar called The Country Tavern, very lively with fights on weekends.
Jay, love it when you go exploring the old back roads and the abandoned places! It’s so cool to document these places before they get bulldozed and razed to the ground. So much history in these old places, glad you’re doing your part to be sure they’re not forgotten. 👍 Best of luck and continued Safe Travels!
Tampa jay, i. Remember back in 65 and. 67. Comming 17 south into. Florida. Stopping. At stuckeys and the orange groves. Alot of fond memories as. A kid from south carolina. Thank you tj.😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
I love love when you do these videos! A fun fact… when Nestle bought our old swimming hole in Crystal Springs, a lot of our wells went dry in Zephyrhills because they pumped so much water from the spring to make Zephyrhills water. Many of us had to have our wells go deeper.
Thanks Jay, being a Florida born and raised and been all over trucking your videos brings back great memories of Florida the way it use to be, so sorry it changed
We absolutely love this series, Jay! Thank you so much for taking us all on these adventures. Any video where Jess has to cover her eyes and worry about your safety is full of laughs for the rest of us. You guys are the best!
You guys are the best thank you so much for joining us love getting out there and firing up the camera. So very grateful and blessed. Hope you are having a great and wonderful Tuesday. Much ahead, my friends
Looks like an LX 5.0 litre possibly an 86 from the look of it. We love the okahumpka service station on the turnpike just off I75 just before exiting to #27 and heading to the citrus tower the swamp tour and the presidents attraction.
What a beautiful day for a roadside tour, Tampa Forklift Jay! Just think someday you'll be building a fence around a home for Cris & Bella. And now it's time 2 get caught up on Cris the Girl. As always thx 4 taking us all along on your adventure
I miss the square dancers coming into steak n shake in my city....the outfits were so cute. TJ...thank you for the video. I loved the country road. Like Nevada desert meets Indiana lol! ❤
Truly enjoy your traveling to these small off the beaten path places...all of which have their own unique stories and history. Unfortunately you couldn't get into the cemetery to show some of the early inhabitants of the area..but what a fantastic day to share with you. Thank you so much for doing what you do.😇🇺🇸👍🌞
Thank you Charles I really appreciate that! Yes, too bad about the cemetery. It’s OK though, I’m sure whoever owns that property is taking care of it and I hope they appreciate it. Much ahead, my friend
I used to drive 18 wheeler out of Okahumpka Fl back in the early 1990's. Used to be a Trucking company called " Lester Coggins Trucking " .Not sure if they are even still in Business all these years later
That place with the Phillips 66 sign in Mascotte is or was an antique store. Don’t know if that part is still open or not. The lady that owned it was opened once in a blue moon. I got to go into it once. Had some cool stuff in there. The two buildings next to used to be a store called Sweet Nothings which was a rustic/country nic nac shop that recently closed and moved to Tennessee. I used to go there a lot so that’s why I know about the place. Just in case you want to know the town is pronounced “mascot”.
Great video ,so well edited! You did find the perfect songs! I guess if worse comes to worse, I can always get a job at the beef factory lol 🤣 I love you!
Cris you 2 are the most beautiful couple ever you have such a beautiful soul Cris you always make me smile I love you so much and congratulations on becoming an annual pass holder I subscribed stay safe 💙
I love you brother because you remind me of myself I enjoy just driving to a certain point and exploring and randomly seeing what happens❤... my family and friends think I'm crazy but I make for the best Adventures
Hi Tampa Jay, love your videos, keep it up! Since you like adventuring, have you ever filmed at Coral Castle? That place fascinates me. Don't know how far it is from you. But, would be cool. ☺
I stuck to the end. Loved the gas station too. Hope you take a mace spray with you on these. You never know when you'll happen upon some unbalanced homeless man or rabid animal. Please be careful!
The great Chip Haynes had us film a movie in Center Hill called Shadows for a local cable company in the late 80s. I'll have to see if I can find the VHS.
jay this is something you may look into as i dont know myself but was the kings highway at one time like the dixie highway and ran through many states? i know you have kings highway in south carolina too.
Not sure if it was apart of the Dixie this would have been back in the early 1800s when the military used it to travel back in forth from tampa to north florida
@Tampa Jay I actually looked it up. So uts was originally kings road. Went from Tampa to Jacksonville. The myrtle beach kings went from Savanah to Boston. Both are equally as old and had similar uses. Named both after king charles.
A few years ago me and the kid that was driving my work truck got pulled over by the literal chief of police in center hill. It’s one of the towns in Florida where the speed limit leading in to town goes from 55 to 35 then back in probably less than a mile. It’s pretty funny when the police chief pulls you over and gives you a warning.

Yo Tampa Jay, Why the rays send pitcher Taj Bradley back to minors? That guy was killing it.
I found this episode of interest as some of my ancestors moved to Center Hill during the 1880's

the fenced in building with the interesting signs kinda reminds me of Hackberry store on route 66 in AZ. pretty cool vlog.

My father had a Phillips 66 station in Lakeland when I was a kid. It's a McDonald's now
Some of these places I would love to turn into haunted attractions.
Me too, Al! Haunts on !
Okahumpka is Seminole for “ DEEP WATERS”.
I love it
Love your material Tampa Jay, entertaining ,edumacational and informative. I live in Lake Butler Fl. Originally from Immokalee Fl. Be safe out there.
Hope all's good with you
I was hoping you would of made it up to Ocala
Much ahead my friend, someday.

Center of the Hill
I hear ya about the cows and pigs 😅😂... there is more then corn in Indiana
Haha love that saying
The Zephyrhills water is dried up.😊
Have you ever done anything in Polk county?
Yes not too long ago
@Tampa Jay Oh, so it's like that? Lol, okay, I'll find it. Thanks for letting me know.
Lake county is my favorite place to go for a cruise the hills are awesome.
Very beautiful out there I look forward to going back. Not too many hills in Florida
Yes! Seminole Indian names usually have 4 syllables with the accent on the 3rd syllable:
O-ka-HUMP-ka
Tall-a-HA-see
With-la-COO-chee
Took nerve to open that shed door
That was fun
They looked right into my little pig soul
where is the topless donut shop? or is that an urban legend......
oops sorry the caps was on
Mascotte Mas cot
Marcotte is pronounced "Mass Cot"
Those are Indian names 😅
have to seen this video to Gov Ron, who is overseas in Japan while the flooding in Florida continues. //
