Pieces of her costume were given to her by different people in each episode. Bruno gave her the mask, Waleed gave her the blue vest, the red scarf came from Red Dagger, the yellow lightning bolt came from a broken piece of her necklace, her name from her dad Yusuf, and her mom Muneeba made the suit

I don’t care what anybody says. They can say Marvel is woke for this. They can say they are trying to push an agenda with bringing forth all the women superheroes. It all doesn’t really matter, this show was really good and I can’t wait for the Marvels simply because Kamala is in it.

Yes, you are correct, Bruno mentioning her mutation was confirmation that she is a mutant which is different from the comics where she is an Inhuman. When the MCU began to get successful the comics began limiting their creation of new mutant characters because they would automatically be available for Fox to use instead of Marvel/Disney, so they made her an Inhuman. But now that Disney owns the Fox movie rights again they are free to make her a mutant now.

Marvelous episode. Ms. Marvel using her embiggen powers against Damage Control was badass. I loved hearing the 90's X-Men theme during this episode. Also, this episode recreates a classic comic book panel in which Kamala Khan sits on a lamppost. Another thing I loved was Kamala's mom gave her the Ms. Marvel costume, and her dad gave her the Ms. Marvel name. The post-credits scene was incredible. Damage Control uses the same sonic weapon as The Incredible Hulk (2008).

Ms.Marvel is truly such an underrated series
its such an amazing thing that people need to be able to aware of this culture and history to be able to connect more to the characters and the dynamic but it makes me kinda sad realising most people wouldn't bother trying to get to know it.

I love Kamala, but this series has all sorts of flaws. The main villain for the majority of the show just gives up on going home for her son, whom she abandoned? We get a brand new villain for the final episode? I know they have had small roles in previous episodes, but they weren't portrayed as the main villain.
I absolutely loved how this show introduced Partition to a larger audience who most likely knew nothing about it prior to this. I love the production choices shown in the first couple of episodes. They were quite inventive. The villains were extremely weak, and the show was way too rushed.

    • @lilbrownbear
      @lilbrownbear Год назад +1

@@krayzy932 oh i completely agree! the villains were definitely the weakest part of the series and if like rico said they let it have more episode they could've fleshed them out better - both the clandestines and dodc. nowhere did i say the series is flawless aur excellent or perfect, but it is for sure underrated. most people not giving it a chance and looking down on it is due to either it feeling like a kids show, or lack of relatability due to cultural context or just straight up racism. i think the series is close to amazing with the shortcoming of villains like i said and off beat pacing in some episodes. personally i believe the blame for that goes solely to the 6 episode structure marvel is so dead set on following regardless of how it stains the show, any show.

Nice catch on the X-Men reference at the end, Rico! That set the internet on fire for a couple of days because they played the musical stinger for the X-Men cartoon from 1997, which was a big reason why they made the X-Men movies not long after that. Fans have been speculating about when mutants would come in for a long time after Disney acquired Fox, and this was the first official mention of it in the MCU.
The main thing I like about this show was the family, the friends, and the way the show highlighted the positive aspects of a culture that has been largely portrayed in a very negative way. It is definitely aimed towards a younger audience, but I appreciated the family friendly and overall wholesome nature of the show. Miss Marvel is a great street level hero, a lot like Spider-Man, and I really enjoyed how they developed her and the world around her.
Both of you are echoing some of the major complaints people have had about some of the Marvel shows on Disney+, and that is that while they are good shows, they tend to feel a bit rushed and a bit too short. I never have thought six episodes felt like enough, but I think it says a lot when the biggest complaint is that we want more.

We explored the Partition of India in this episode, and I immensely enjoyed it. Kamran's powers are accurate to the comic books. When Kamala discovered that she had been a part of the legend of her own family and had helped save her grandmother from the turmoil, I was reminded of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It was fantastic to see the black and white MCU logo intro. The black and white MCU logo intro was awesome. I also loved the nod to Spider: Man Homecoming with Circle Q. The Circle Q had the same fate as Delmar's Deli in Spider: Man Homecoming.

For me, episode 5 was the most emotional. I almost cried upon seeing Aisha on her last knees after Najma stabbed her.
My favorite parts about episode 6 were seeing Kamala’s friends following along her plan, the community including the cops stepping in to help her, and Yusuf’s heart-to-heart which gave rise to Kamala’s superhero codename Ms. Marvel.
The term “embiggen” is Kamala’s signature move. Originally, it allowed her to grow up to the size of a giant similar to Ant-Man. Just like him though, she can’t maintain a giant form for long.
@43:15 In the comics, Kamala was originally supposed to be a mutant. They wanted to include her in the MCU at some point, but at the time they were creating her 20th Century Fox still owned the character film rights to X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four. So they decided to write her as an inhuman. However, after Disney acquired Fox, they were finally able to move forward with the original plan.
Now that you made it this far, I can further elaborate on Marvel Zombies.
Just a little reminder: this show is still MCU canon, but it’s not part of the main timeline. It takes place in the zombie apocalypse dimension from What If season 1 following the events of that episode.
(I wouldn’t recommend it to Monica though. It’s gonna be TV-MA [17+] since they promised it’ll have way more gore.)
I bring this up because Ms. Marvel has been selected to be among the heroes who will form a zombie resistance.
The rest of the lineup confirmed so far consists of the following:
    Jimmy Woo
    Yelena Belova
    Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian
    Shang-Chi
    His best friend Katy Chen
Death Dealer (the Ten Rings operative with the white mask)
And last but not least, Kate Bishop.
The first season of Marvel Zombies will consist of four episodes set to premiere in 2024.

I get where you guys are coming from about these shows being too short, but we have to remember is that these shows are part of the MCU. they aren't supposed to answer every question, it in fact does the opposite, it raises more questions than it answers. The reason for this is because since these shows are woven into the overall MCU with characters that are going to be coming back in future movies and shows, it needs to leave questions to be answered later. Moon knight for example, doesn't really tie into the MCU yet, which is probably why it's getting a second season. But Kamala is returning in The Marvels (movie coming out in November 2023) which is why there's no season 2 yet. If we do get a season 2, that might be till after The Marvels, whose main characters are Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. Monica will likely discover her powers and her super hero name, which is likely either Photon or Spectrum.

I'm sure you've had patrons telling you since forever, but Ms. Marvel is a pretty big departure from its comic counterpart. Her powers and origin are wildly different, so the story in the series is pretty much all original. Which is a bit tough as a big Kamala fan (pretty much my favorite Marvel hero and the first Marvel comic I really got into).
In the comics Kamala is an inhuman, a concept that the MCU has pretty much dropped all-together. And since Monica asked, there is a connection with Carol. Just like in the show, Kamala is a big fan of Carol, and takes on her old name. (Carol was Ms. Marvel on and off from the 70s well into the 2000s when she became Captain Marvel.) Kamala even briefly took on Carol's old Ms. Marvel appearance (as her comic power is shapeshifting, sort of), but Bruno designed a costume of her own for her. The bangle is just a bangle.
The show did a pretty good job with the characters though. Most are pretty close to their comic counterparts, the Khans are probably quite a bit hipper than in the comic, but it works pretty well for the show I thought.

What Marvel has been doing in this phase is making completely different content per project, doing something which Stan Lee always wanted, which is for everyone to find themselves in Marvel. Mrs. Marvel is very different than WandaVision, Moonknight, Falcon and the Winder Soldier, and any other Marvel project because it's supposed to be. It's made to be different and to find different audiences.

It has been confirmed that Khamala is the first officially recognized mutant in the MCU. Fun fact: Iman Vellani communicates with Kevin Feige often (according to her she has debates with him all the time about the choices made that make the MCU different from the comics) and is known to be a HUGE Marvel Comics superfan. Anyway, her script of the last episode was the only copy that had the reveal and when she saw it, she immediately emailed Feige in all caps basically like "IS THIS FOR REAL?" and how honored she felt to be the first. Another fun fact: this actually corrects Ms. Marvel's character background to what her creator originally intended. She was supposed to be a mutant from the beginning in the comics but Ike Perlmutter (the head of Marvel at the time) was on a "no more mutants" crusade because Marvel's deal with Fox Studios back then stipulated that Fox would automatically get the movie rights to any new mutant characters introduced into the comics and he did not want to give them any more money since they were already making a killing with the X-Men. So instead, Ms. Marvel was written with an Inhuman origin.

I find it odd that there were people who thought Kamala shapeshifted into Carol.

It’s because that’s what happened in the comics, but I knew she didn’t shapeshifter cause Carol looked confused

Not odd at all cause in the comics she does make herself look like Carol when she fights crime as Ms. Marvel

I think this show is alright, it's not bad at all but it's not as good as we know Marvel can be either. It started strong, Kamala is a very likeable and relatable person, the villains and the story was weak though.

The MCU does not want comic book writers on staff anymore so they believe a non-comic book fan or writer can tell a better story to comic book fans which is incorrect. Ms. Marvel’s powers are where she is a shape shifter and she has elastic abilities like Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic.
The executive team preferred her abilities be more comparable to Captain Marvel and Spectrum (Photon), Monica Rambeau’s. By the way, the original Captain Marvel was male and Monica took on the name to honor him as the second Captain Marvel. There were so many things that led to her most recent superhero name of Spectrum which she has had the shortest so the MCU may go with Photon which is why in WandaVision the camera focused on Maria Rambeau’s picture and ensured the audience would see her call sign of Photon.
I am okay with many changes but Kamala should still be an inhuman. Her genes do have a mutation which could still have her remain an inhuman.
