I will always ride Sidi. Can see there is a lot of passion and dedication that goes into every pair of shoes. I hope the younger generation will keep the company going for many more years to come.
Been riding with Sidi for 33 years now. Their Mega line solved the fit for my wide feet. Currently rotating through 5 pairs, depending on the weather and what bike I riding. All the best to you Chris this season. Train hard, ride hard. Allez at the TdF!
I did too. But my latest paid (3 years old - Sidi ergo mega 5) is narrower causing me pain. Thinking of going elsewhere as a result compared to my last mega's
Been riding SIDI for 19 years now, it was the only cycling shoe in 49 i could find back then, and i never looked elsewhere since. I love that this is a small family business, made in Italy. Beautiful video!
Just spent most of morning riding on the front for Israel Start up and still has time to make and upload a vlog for us. What a true gent this man is and a true cycling legend.
I've loved the freedom cycling has given me over the past 50 years. SIDI made it also enjoyable, for a lad down under in NZ in 1980. Finally I was able to really ride. SIDI has been my choice of footwear ever since.
Sidi was the first shoe with a plate, allen keyed screws replaced all the little nails we used to attach the 2 chunks of leather that composed prior cleats, circa 1974.
Great video Chris, I love Sidi I’ve been riding in them since my teenage years and I’m still riding in them in my 40’s and I’m riding in those same ones that you have
Loving your channel Chris , i have also been racing on Sidi from the mid 70's , and i still have all my Sidi racing shoes , including the one model with the large oversized titanium plate . At one time my cleat finally broke , i had to machine a new Delrin cleat . The shoes are now double sewn at the lace area and back . I Wonder if they still make the old' style just after the large plated model . Since the mesh upper model came out just after that , late 70's to early 80's . Yes i still ride with toe clips .
Great stuff. I had a pair of those shoes with the titanium plate in the mid 1970’s. The next evolution was leather and mesh upper..also excellent shoes
Tried a few brands and found Sidi to be the best for me. Great attention to detail and you can buy spares easily. Have road and mtb shoes and both styles fit superbly.
No question a beautiful shoe. I own 3 pairs of road and 1 pair for Gravel. Love them. Sidi as has been mentioned has been creating incredible MotoGP boots worn by many of the World’s fastest Racers. I own a sweet pair of those too. Sidi is solid foot gear. The success comes from it’s power transfer through it’s rigidity. It’s carbon platform and outer shoe is a work of art. Expensive they are.
I am a cyclist I’m a ex national champion in speed skating I won my first nationals on verducci boots which were made from Italy there hard work into there production is amazing I love my sidi cycling shoes makes it feel like my skate boots
Used to ride Sidi all the time. Fabulous shies but moved from the tight toe to Lakes. Notice that you needed more space also. The craftsmanship is to be admired but people gave toes.
Wow, kinda neat to see my first pair of ti Sidi shoes in the video. I still have them and they are in great shape. Oops, showing my age;) Thanks for the vid Chris.
Best on the planet, although I hear good things about the S-Works! Had Vertebra Race boots, too! 👌 Had a pair of Dominators that fell apart.....after 19 years! 😁
Love my Sidi road shoes and my Sidi motorcycle boots. Their lasts just fit me perfectly, and no matter what other, usually cheaper brands I try on, once I’ve slipped on a pair of Sidis, I realize I’m just going to have to spend the extra money. Would love to have a custom pair, but I’m guessing that would be WAY out of my price range. 😂 Thanks for the tour and the history!
I have been a lifetime customer of Sidi and believe strongly in the brand and quality of the products. I treat myself to a new pair of top-end Sidi shoes every four years or so. However, I have experienced the same issue with my second toe in my latest shoes (Sidi Wire2 Carbon)and this is the first time I'm considering changing shoe brands 😪 in almost 20 years of Cycling.
I have the same problem as you Chris in that my second toe is arching up as well so rubbing is a big problem and I have to plaster it up then wrap a bandage around. I’ve gone from a 43 to 45 but hasn’t made a lot of difference so I don’t know if a bit more material over the top would help apart from giving my toes more room to move around, which is probably the main reason why my toe is rubbing?
@@durianriders performance isn’t the issue, it’s comfort. I don’t need that toe so I think if it got so bad I’d have it removed… or to keep that joint flat maybe some sort of splint but I don’t see myself trimming a pair of Sidi’s
I'm yet to find any cycling shoe that suits my feet as well as Sidi - they hold my feet on the bike like no other and and never cause me any discomfort or fatigue. The availability of replacements for parts that may wear such as heels, insoles, and restraint components mean that if you treat them with a moderate amount of care they will repay any premium on your initial outlay with outstanding serviceable life for a performance shoe. There may be lighter options but the comfort, fit, and quality of construction more than make up for any weight penalty that they might give up to a handful of competitors. I tend to use two bolt cleat shoes for commuting and three bolt for sportifs and longer rides and Sidi works well with both.
I am wearing a Shimano size 44 wide.I am looking to switch to Sidi.Easier said than done in Wisconsin north of Milwaukee as far as actually being able to find a store and try on a pair.I ordered a Sidi Dragon 5 MTB size 44 Mega from Amazon and it felt like my foot was drowning in it so I sent it back. There was so much room above my toes and the middle part of my foot.and my heel slipped a little. Then I found out that the heal can be adjusted at the back with an allen wrench which might have secured it...?? Since they were mega should I have ordered a size 43.5 instead..?? My running shoe size is Asics 9.5 extra wide . I measured my foot length and it came out to approx. 26.3 cm...I compared my feet to a friends feet and mine are much wider..I had to pay for shipping and restocking cost to return those shoes.Maybe they did fit and I just didn't realize it... Money thrown away. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
These shoes work with the Peloton bike+ (April 2022), ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGPkov2mNjgZfG33r6Bwvies8jKE4AKZB and are of good enough quality. I have completed 10 rides so far and there are no issues. The first time trying to fit them on the Peloton bike took 10 minutes (even with the help of an experienced cyclist friend who wears the same type of cleats). It took a couple of rides to break in. After the first two rides there were no issues at all.
I have more Sidis than I have regular shoes. Just about ALL cycling brands make their shoes too narrow. They really need to start catering to all riders, not just the elite of riders (amateur or pro). I know Sidi has Mega sizes, but they don't run those throughout the entire line up to their flagships. Having said that, once I've had a pair broken in, good gosh...there's nothing else like them. They are the best of the best for a reason. They don't just get lucky every few years with a good fitting shoe. They consistently produce the standard in cycling shoes.
I will always ride Sidi. Can see there is a lot of passion and dedication that goes into every pair of shoes. I hope the younger generation will keep the company going for many more years to come.

Check out Shimano S-Phyres. Wide toe box, incredibly comfortable with Dual Boas and are just plain awesome. Reasonably priced too.
Same thing for me ,,, mega makes me ride for longer with less pain ,,, i was really suffering with my old one .
Great video Chris. Thanks for sharing. Fantastic to see shoes actually being made in Europe and the tradition alive.
I’ve ridden other shoes in the past but I always come back to Sidi. Their fit and feel is unequaled!

Size 49? You must have the feet of a serial killer!
Once you find a comfy brand best to stick with it

Even more of a gent if he had a discount code for us😉
Sure he said type froomey100% for free sidis
I have been using SIDI for 20 years now. I love them. Thanks for the content Chris.
Very cool. Thank you for sharing the manufacturing of this iconic brand.
Thanks Chris. I loved the "Tour of Sidi".
Thanx so very much for taking the time to do and share this Chris!

Wow what a treat. I absolutely love SIDI 💯
Sidi my first and last pair of cycling shoes purchased … prestige on your feet 👌
Never owned a pair but best looking shoes on the market. Real Italian flair and a quality build
Visiting Kenya for the first time. Working with a children's feeding program in Kijabe. Such a beautiful country!
Welcome. I am in kijabe Kenya. And acyclists as well, good job helping the children.
Great content you're making, Froome. Thanks and congrats!

Congratulations for the video!! Sidi for ever!! 👍💪🔔🔔🚴🚴🚴🚁Chris
I purchased my first pair last year. Most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.
This was a fantastic video, thank you Chris. Can watch you go into depth on cycling kit and equipment all day!
i own a pair of Sidi mtb shoes. And they served me without a single issue for the last 4 years.
Had my new SIDI Genuis 10's on this morning, feel like carpet slippers wonderful.
Cool video,Chris! Nice story about Sidi.
I had Sidi mx boots when I started racing late 70s, they were a very popular brand in England, interesting video thanks Chris
I've been on Sidis for decades and I didn't see my foot form in those shelves... what gives? LOL Great vid, Chris.
Very interesting. Always good to see you. Stick to training your brains and guts out. Win another Tour de France. Praying for you.
Great video. Love their shoes....Hope the new pair solve your rubbing problem. Should be good for an additional 10kph!! LOL! Thanks Chris.

Road bike, gravel bike, cyclocross, mountain, motocross and super bike - always SIDI! So glad to see them still being made in Italy.

Very interesting video! I love the wall of foot molds of all the pros. Love my (3 pairs) Sidis!
Excellent Video! Now I can understand why SIDI are one of the Top Brand WW.
Fantastic report Mister Froome,Sidi is an iconic brand in cycling,i have two pairs of Sidi Shot and love them.
I had Sidi then went to try others that were a lighter shoe but not as stiff and as secure feeling. Now back on wires and no regrets.
Good video. Greetings from San Diego CA.
I plan on SIDI for my next pair, even though that's a few years away
Thanks Chris, really interesting.
Huge fan of sidi shoes. I had sidi shot and sidi sixty and currently actively using Sidi Wire 2
Very interesting video. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
very nice video, that shelve with all the cycling stars would be worth a fortune I bought my first pair of sidi in the eighties old strap in
I like Sidi Shoes, my last Eagle 10 for Gravel and Wire 2 for the race bike. Looks good, need 2-4 weeks for perfekt fit.
Really enjoying this channel, Chris! Love the detail and story telling.
The legend takes on a tour 👍👍👍
Be it any shoe brand, once it gets wet the glue comes off.

Not the biggest fan of the looks of Sidi shoes, but the fit on the two pairs I've tried was fantastic, they'll probably be my next pair
Nice video thanks might try them for my next set of shoes
Different widths depending on your foot size, easy to get replacement parts, last for years. Go for it.

Had Vertebra Race boots, too! 👌
Had a pair of Dominators that fell apart.....after 19 years! 😁
Best shoes on the market!
But can you ask them to put the cleat holes a little more towards the back?
They are the best shoes. I have three pair one from over 20 years ago the other two (Road & MTN) I purchased a year ago.

Interesting, now I'm going to look at their website, thank you
Sidi should do a line of midfoot cleat position. Once you go midfoot you cant ride anything else.
Why is that? Do you have a vid on it?
I have the same problem as you Chris in that my second toe is arching up as well so rubbing is a big problem and I have to plaster it up then wrap a bandage around. go a wider shoe or get some scissors and trim the material if performance is a priority.

I love sidi shoes and thinking about getting the sixty anniversary shoes
They look awesome, I’m very tempted.

How is it that all the shoes and factory moulds/lasts are pointed whereas in fact, no one has toes tapering to a point ???
It would be so awesome if a mold could be provided and regular riders could get custom Sidi shoes
