  • A short, cinematic tour of John Muir Country Park, a popular forested area near the town of Dunbar in East Lothian, Scotland.
The park is named after naturalist John Muir, who was born in Dunbar in 1838. Today he’s credited as the “Father of National Parks” and is well known for his role in the establishment of Yosemite National Park in California, USA. As a champion of wild spaces, it’s fitting that his legacy lives on in this beautiful part of Scotland, too.
Today, John Muir Country Park is incredibly popular as a recreational area, constantly filled with dog walkers, bird watchers, nature lovers, and even surfers headed across the dunes to Belhaven Bay. Visitors to the park are treated to a network of trails, dense woods, vast dunes and amazing insect, bird and plant life.
This short clip was filmed on an iPhone 11 with FiLMiC Pro, using a Moment Anamorphic lens, Moment Cinebloom diffusion and Gobe VND8-128 filters. Edited in Davinci Resolve 16.
