    Your video really helps! It's so detailed and you even open them up! I was looking around to find which dimmer i should buy, and which i will be able to open up and directly solder wires to them.

    The black one [metal case] looks to be the best one on a manual one in my opinion, that you do not need to change all that often.
    Have ordered a few like that to use to DIM led strips.
    If it is really 30A compliant, is a different story. but with most led drivers capping out at 200-300W. it should help greatly, when using COB led strips that you need to dim

      @@aleksandarangelevski9599 I used a 12v led driver power supply and put a bunch of power plugs tied into a terminal block… as I recall. The led driver is supposed adjust to maintain the voltage as forward power draw changes… again as I recall from previous reading.

    When i use the 4th one the led receiver start buzzing!! Any idea what is the problem?

      I assume we are talking about the large touch. I have not used that one under a lot. Right now it is back in the box. Most of the others went on to other projects.
      I have not noticed any humming on any of them. High amperage is known to cause humming in some transistors. While noise is undesirable, make sure you are not generating excessive heat. That could be a sign of over loading. Best of luck.

      I cannot find anyplace that lists the specification. They only list that it uses PWM to control the lights. I don’t have the equipment to measure it.

    With the remote control model what power source did you use? Thanks

    • @alwaystinkering6972
      @alwaystinkering6972  2 года назад

      I don’t fully know what you are looking for in an answer. The control unit for goes in line to the light. The power source has to be from the main line and cannot have another dimmer in line before it since it will create dirty power. So you can have multiple dimmers on one power source in parallel.
      The size of the power supply is based on the rated peak draw of the lights. I try to buy UL listed power supplies if they are competitively priced. In this demo I used a 12v power supply. While most power supplies are new I have encountered kits with power like the one shown here. ruclips.net/video/chSmvmS61E8/видео.html.
      Feel free to follow up if you need more or different info.

    Im planning to buy the 3rd dimmer black case 30A. But i am not sure if it will work on a 10A power supply. Can you help me? Thank you

    • @alwaystinkering6972
      @alwaystinkering6972  3 года назад

      30A is its max current flow rating of the switch. 10A will be the max your power supply can provide, 30% of the switches rated max current flow. It should work fine so long as you are at 12 to 24V DC.
      I use this dimmer in my entertainment center and deck led videos. The deck led video uses a 10A power supply.

      @@alwaystinkering6972 There is risk to burn the Leds on short strip if you use 12A supply and the dimmer at max?the output will be 12Amp, a Lot

    • @alwaystinkering6972
      @alwaystinkering6972  3 года назад +1

      @@MACYNET323 if you are using a dimmer that comes with leads, I find they frequently have hair thin wires. One choice is to try it first and see how warm they wires get. Too small of a wire will make them really hot and restrict the throughput. On my highest draw lines I replaced the wires with larger diameter.
      You can also break up the 12amp with an led amplifier somewhere further down the string. The amplifier will need a power source. A different one or sometimes I will run a large diameter wire in parallel to the string from the original power to the amp. The amplifier reads the power signal from the first string and makes the second string do the same thing. So If you dim with the dimmer the amplifier dims the second string. Amplifiers also fix dimming that can occur at the end of long led strings. None of the draw going through the amplifier goes through the original dimmer.
      Don’t forget to monitor the temp of the dimmer you buy at the amps you use. Warm is ok. Hot to where you cannot touch it is probably not.
