- Velcro One-Wrap Straps are an amazing solution to organize your messy cables in the studio as well as all over your home, office and yard.
If you are in to audio, video, technology or anything else that results in a lot of cables lying around, you have probably a messy tangle of cables that need organizing. In this video I show you my favourite product for keeping my cables neat and tidy.
Velcro Reusable On-Wrap Straps can be cut to length and even cut in half to provide a solution for bundling any size cable, or anything else for that matter!

Thank god this video exists. My cables looked like junk 😂
Hahah! Velcro for the win!!
Good tip. I use this too. Cables don't get tangled up. Once you get a roll you will use it for everything. Addictive...
Totally! I have a roll handy at all times!!
oh godsh....I so know what you are talking about ;)! Great tips! THANK YOU Pete
Thanks! Yes, I think anyone who does anything audio/video/technology related knows this pain all too well!
The organising tips are really helpful! My problem is to organise the right cable with the right machine....I am becoming a cable lady lol
Yes, I will need to find a better way to label my cables!!
Another tip is to wrap the Velcro tightly around a single cable onto itself then keep wrapping , ganging all of the wraps. This keeps each Velcro strip with its own cable so you don't lose them. You can then use the Velcro that's permanently attached to gang more than one cable together on stage. This helps prevent tripping on wayward cables. We usually run the cables from the mics thru the band in one place to the sound board at the rear of the band. Also if the piece of Velcro is long enough you can use it to wrap (attach) the cable along side the mic stand for a neat appearance. Also available in office supplies are precut pieces with a slit in one end to feed the Velcro around the cable then thru the slit making it a more permanent attachment. These are usually a thinner Velcro material. Not sure how long it would last under heavy use.
Lastly, if your Velcro starts to get lint in it making it lose its stickiness, I use a slicker brush (for dogs & cats) to brush the Velcro, pulling the lint up & out. You can add some time to the longevity of the Velcro. Can you tell I've been wrangling cords since the 70's & tried many a system to organize ? I like the Velcro the best though. Great tips, Pete. Thanks s bunch.
Wow! That is some next level stuff Judi! Will be using that mic stand trick for sure!!
I'd like to see some behind the desk cable management :)
Haha! It gets worse over time as I add more “stuff”. 😀
@@PeteJohnsMusic I've yet to find the "best" solution for desk cable management that still allows for easy access of swapping gear.
We removed all velcro straps and went back to tie-line. We have found that it gets stuck to everything and every other cable in the snake head. Big pain when you have 40 to 50 cables. Also removed them from all the power cables. We hate velcro.
Fair enough!
Dang I didn't get the double sided.
These rolls are so handy!!
