I noticed you didn’t line the mark in the choke up. Do you not have to? Once you put it in don’t you have to twist it to set it?
So do I need a 12v source for the choke to come off?
My 12v is disconnected running on a 87 Tercel. Wonder if I can use a constant 12v source if the choke will work decent?
No
What is the wire connection (Solenoid) low on opposit side from choke? Where does that wire go to?
Hello, great question. I usually use a green wire, I connect it at the choke then to the "Solenoid" (idle shutoff valve) then to the positive side of the coil. I hope this makes since. If not please check out my other VW engine video's. Have a great day!
@@mountpac4464 Can you simply connect the wire from the electric choke directly to the positive side of the coil? I’m not sure I have an idle shutoff solenoid. Where would that be located? I have an 1835cc VW engine on a dune buggy that never had the choke wire connected. Thank you.
My bug runs when the choke is on. However, once I hit the gas after it has warmed up and off the step the bug will die. No matter what adjustments I do to the volume screw or the bypass adjust, nothing happens.
Fully adjust the choke to open after it warms up. I had the same problem . See if this helps and then adjust the choke after accordingly
I'm actually looking for information about the electrical path.
The wire (usually green) connects to the electric choke then to the shut off valve then to the positive side of the coil. I hope this helps. #mountpac
