I remember when TiVo did this for over the air and cable viewing. They now have a streaming device with the same functionality but it took too long to get to market and they got lost in the crowd.
Been using plex for about 6 months since I cancelled netflix, Disney etc. Honestly wont be going back to streaming services.
Been impressed with the ease of use that I purchased the lifetime pass this week.
Also purchased a fractal design define 7 xl case, 6 drives sleds and a bunch of 10tb wd red drives.
Will eventually make my media server the center piece in my lounge room.
The links to other services from Plex search are working great on my Chromecast with Google TV. Unfortunately, not working on roku devices due to roku's policy against "deep links" I read elsewhere, bummer since I have a half dozen roku devices in the home ... oh well maybe sometime
been using plex for around 3 years, paid for the lifetime subscription around 6 months after I started using it. It has had its quirks along the way but overall its well worth it and I love plex and my little home server set up. I can be anywhere and stream my collection and share it with my family in another state which is pretty cool.
been using plex for at least 10 years now. the new update is great. being able to be anywhere and have access to my media is great.
Is there a way to change countries in plex for movies and shows so I can watch e.g. US shows?

Yes I use Plex and I’ve been using it for years and years and years don’t know exactly how many years but it’s been a very long time and now I’m using the DVR free TV over the air and I can record shows that are new they haven’t been released yet I love that feature and I really like Plex I paid $40 I believe for one year next year I’m hoping to pay the lifetime membership
runing plex few years , is the best way to manege audio and video ,as it find automatically cover art and give you short bio or discretion the free vesion work well ,and things with plex pass, are just nice to have not very critical
I have only one problem with Plex. I must always refreshing metadata to show my subtitles downloaded with bazarr. But in combination with sonarr and radarr is absolutely amazing app
Changed the logo, but Plex Server, still doesn't work with Windows 11, it´s a shame.
Search on Plex isn't great on its own. i don't see what they can bring to the service aggregation party?

How much do you trust Plex not to give out your media data to known and unknown requesting sources ?
How much do I trust someone that adds a space before a sentence's punctuation?
Are you referring to plex retrieving information about third party streaming services? When you say media data, wouldn't you rather say metadata? Since it's not going to send out your personal files, that doesn't even make sense.
Please list these known and unknown requesting sources, whatever the ever living fuck that is supposed to mean. Who wants to know what media files some random person has? You're very strange. Might want to learn about what's actually going on with this service before being that guy and saying SOURCE? HOW DO YOU KNOW TO TRUST IT?
It's hard to wanna trust plex. Jellyfin is very good if you're worried about phone home

nobody wants these stupid features, we want, ebooks, audiobooks, and comic book support
This app sucks ass I have had nothing but trouble with it since I got it weeks ago on my PlayStation it's slow and keeps freezing or not working and it won't even work on my smart TV it's such a waste of money
You obviously don't know how to use this absolutely fantastic piece of software. Just the mention of running the server on a PlayStation or TV makes my point. The client runs flawlessly on TV,s and anything else I have put it on
I've read a few people have issues running the client on the playstation. Honestly never had a single issue with it and it runs like a dream.
If not set up right it could be a train wreck .its awesome for me i use plex and emby
It works very, very well. It isn't as user friendly as it should be, for someone new to it. You have to spend the time to learn it's ins and outs. If you get it set up correctly, you'll find it works great.
