    The "Box Tool", best production turning tool ever made. Used them all the time back when I was setting up and operating screw machines.

    Enjoyed watching that, ran a chucker for a many years, made so many parts. Kicking it cranking parts what a challenge and fun job. Thanks for sharing, its like stepping into a time warp. Cheers!

    Since this is the first time I have seen one of these in action watching this video, I am impressed how they can work just as well as a CNC but a lot more reliable, one thing though, seeing someone getting their fingers near the moving parts might result in serious injury, that said be careful

      Yup, care is taken during those operation requiring handwork for sure. I have had others tell me that there are ways to put those chamfers on the part with the correct tooling setup..I am not that advanced I am afraid.

    That's knurling tool was cool. How did the cross cut slide push it?

      @lincolnsmithy  2 года назад +1

      I was able to push it with the tool post. Otherwise I would mount a block on the cross slide if the tool post did not align.

    I own a German Burchhardt lathe from the 1950's. I'm looking for the operations manual. Can someone help me? I live in Brazil.

      I used to work for Rivett back in the 80's those machines were long out of production since 1964 but they were "Cadillac" level equipment the company had a total quality philosophy that carried over at least into the 2000's.
