In android you can use rethink or invizible pro for the same benefits but in one app instead of 2
winget ftw! Best thing MS has done with windows in a long time IMO.
I freakin love Portmaster! SPN is the future of network privacy and security.
Personally speaking I like using Portmaster because I can see what apps are actually trying to access internet without my permission. Portmaster can break some apps or programs but, with the latest updates is easier to see what is beeing block and why you might have mutiple connections just for one app and you can have a better understanding as to why and what is trying to acess the internet. I.E it could be telemtry or some app or programs are trying to update, in other words you can see what apps or programs are privativecy invasive. Next DNS is like casting a wide net and blocking mutiple domain or sites for various devices. Next DNS can be just as safe and informative as portmaster or even more depending on how you set up Next DNS. If you have a NextDNS profile you can have analytical information on what domains are being resolve and block for all devices or you can set up a profile for a specific device. Next DNS is a great way to block domains or sites for all devices or specific ones. While Portmaster is more informative for a single device and it gives you more information on what pograms or apps are trying to acess the internet on installed device. Personally speaking I love using both I have a more in depth information on what is being block and why, which makes me feel more secure in my opinion.
So what about mobile? PortMaster Beta? What keyboard ti replace G bored & droyd accessibili ti
I personally think using chocolatey and winget make more sense than manually searching for a .exe because it's more eyes than just mine whose looking for the correct download link - we know how Google is these days. But yeah, it's mostly for convenience for me too as choco has an auto-update script and I could easily backup what I install and reinstall quickly with either of them (I prefer choco when possible because the CLI client works better and auto-update is easier to do there).
Need to go into Portmaster and see what VPN's work with it if you use them and are not going to use their SDN service. I installed it on my clean Debian 12.5 and found that out the hard way. It is _really nice how much it shows you though_
Portmaster beta is app for android phone works ok just bigger battery drain.
GrapheneOS is the way to go on Android. Turn off the internet to individual apps. G board internet access can be blocked.
True
@@notafbihoneypot8487 Have not used it but heard great things. Been on their forums or message board and they seem to like it. It has issues, but to be expected for a privacy OS.
NextDNS+Simplefirewall 😊
Port master is amazing. I was blown away when I discovered it. Also their logo is very similar to your channel logo hehe.
Heliboard is the best alternative right now for Gboard
I've gotten NextDNS and Portmaster to work on Windows with minimal issues. Only real roadblock I encountered was that the default settings prevented my computer from connecting to other network devices
How do you guys use Portmaster on windows? I have a beefy machine and THAT gets constantly bogged down by Portmaster with how it does it networking scripts via Powershell.
Things become unusable, much of my applications (especially chat/enterprise) stop working or become glitchy because theyre unable to make network calls which allow them to function
Chocolatey uses first party or developer repos not third party repos and checks the checksums before installing the applications too. It works a lot better than winget. Scoop is another package manager for windows. Both chocolatey and scoop were around a lot longer than winget. Also, winget just grabs applications from the Microsoft store and programs on that store are unverified most of the time.
rethink DNS is the best firewall on your Android you can get
