The first thing I noticed when I seen this was that there are way more NPC's walking around station square to make it look way better than what Sonic team did
Ummm... well, thanks for noticing, but it was more to replicate the pedestrian density from promotional screenshots. Not so much to one-up the developers.
Yo dude I saw your video on Black Doom from Shadow the Hedgehog on your old channel and must say I heavily appreciate that you spoke up for him. I really like Black Doom and think he's very underrated.
Wow. It's interesting to hear that someone remembers that. I've changed the way I think dramatically since then, so while, yes, he is the most interesting part of that game (which is a problem, as the dark pathway is the only good or logical pathway, especially given how much Shadow already hates humanity at the beginning for some reason), it was stupid of me to argue against the point that he wanted to "help" humanity. His logic was that humanity was a self-destructive race and that he'd be giving them a greater purpose by turning them into a food source for his race, which is actually a pretty interesting twist. The only mystery it leaves unexplained is why he has such a sadistic, unquenchable bloodthirst for the human race and revels in their death. He shows a lot of rage and demented pleasure for an alien leader who just wants them to surrender to their "higher purpose".
@@TheElectroNuke I've actually been creating some lore for him and the Black Arms a while ago for my personal headcanon.(I started it in Dec. Of 2021) His name was Haxeév was the son of the ruler of his people (who were called the Althonids before becoming the Black Arms, essentially he and his fellow Althonids were the "ancestors" of the Black Arms) and later when he was around 14 (in Althonid years, they live for about a few hundred) his homeworld was attacked by a race of entities from another universe known as the Crimsonators/Crimson Force. So for a few years they waged war on the Crimson Force and it dragged on and they started to become desperate. They tried to negotiate a treaty but it ended up in his dad being killed. As his dad died Haxeev promised him he wouldn't let their race die and he would "lead them to prosperity". Haxeev was forced to step up to leadership.
Stepping up from such a young age and all the troubles he faced kinda took its toll on him, he became very paranoid and terrified about what the future had in store for him and his people and the stress of war didn't help. He later came to believe that they weren't strong enough to survive so he made a deal with the very people who they were at ear with; the Crimsonators, and decided to "surrender" and allow his people to be used as science experiments and serve them and in return they'd be spared and become stronger. After being taken to the realm of the Crimsonators and being experimented on for 200 yrs, he was finally presented with the new and improved types of Althonids (which are the different breeds of Black Arms, such as the Black Warrior, Black Oak, Black Hawk, Black Annelid, Black Elites, etc.) (The new improvements the experimented Althonids received included becoming immortal, unable to catch disease or age past their prime, reproduce asexually, greatly enhancing their strength, speed, endurance, and overall physiology and athleticism. They even were given the ability to regenerate and the only way to kill them was destroying the brain itself.)
Because of such an enhancement Haxeev believed the Black Arms biology to be "perfected and as perfectionism itself" and that his race was truly superior to others. He later stole some ingredients to create a mutation serum of his own made to enhance himself. He later turned against the Crimsonators and stole all of the genetic blueprints for creating the Black Arms. During the battle to escape the Crimsonators realm his legs got blown off but he managed to teach himself to levitate using Althonid sorcery. He later finished up creating the evolution serum for himself and used it to painfully mutate his own body which enhanced his own biological traits but also giving him great power but also corrupted him a good bit. (also giving him his more devil-like form in the process. It also caused the birth of Dooms Eye, which for my canon is the exact same person but just in a different body that split away from him during the mutation process)
Over the centuries he spent much time expanding his knowledge and training himself to become more powerful, studying forbidden dark arts in Althonid sorcery, and even discovering new abilities he could use such as the hive-mind control on anyone who carried the Black Arms genes and force his will into them, but he also did this to ensure there would be no conflict among themselves. He'd later come to discover the Chaos and Master Emeralds and learn to use Chaos Energy as well. Also coming to master the art of that as well.
With his home now drained of resources and now a dusty and lifeless wasteland, Haxeev began scouring the universe with the Black Arms for resources, food and pretty much anything else they could find. Which included attacking other planets to raid them. This then led into a later intergalactic conflict with the Seedrians (and yes I'm including them from Sonic X) and who later became the Metarex and then fought back against them.
Due to his power, cunning, and brutality many opposing alien races would call him "The Black Doom" as a name to demonize him but he sort of chose to wear it as a badge of honor. (Dooms Eye also got its name that way but for being his "eyes and ears" so to speak. )
For the most part Black Doom takes no especially sadistic pleasure in what he's doing but sees it as "purifying the unclean/cleansing the universe" basically if he's "evil", then this makes him a necessary evil. However he does somewhat enjoy it.
His end goal really is to " expand the Black Arms perfection" across the universe and unify all life as one to bring peace.
Eversince the Black Arms creation and taking the Althonid's place, he became obsessed with perfectionism and believes that he now is perfect. Which is why he thinks he can save other races with his "Order of Perfection" by subjugation or, if he deems them worthy enough, select those that he sees as the strongest and fittest of a particular race and give them the option of being "blessed" with the Black Arms perfect blood/life-force, become one of them and potentially start a new species of Black Arms.
Also for my rewritten version, the reason why Doom hates humanity is because of how destructive they are and can be to one another. As he and most of his people are unified by the hive-mind and cannot be conflicted against each other, he's genuinely disgusted by humanities actions towards each other. Which is why when he invades he believes he's is punishing the humans for their sins while also saving them from their own demise by subjugating them to be preserved as food and slaves for his race.
Wow. That's a lot of headcanon. The draft of Black Comet I finished recently is long, but I tried to streamline it as much as possible, and it's really nothing more than a world-building exercise.
Basically, the planet Z9 (Black Doom) lives on is kept warm by a mineral in its mantle called negronite because of its distance from any nearby stars. Humanity needs to defend itself from Chaos, so they forcibly drill for the planet's negronite supply to build their defenses. Z9's goals are to fight off the invasion and avenge his father's death by going after his killer, the old G.U.N. commander. He discovers that his father had been a puppet of the United Federation for years and that humanity is a greater threat to itself than his own race. It's basically one big science-fiction allegory for climate change and the exploitation of native peoples throughout human history.
Okay. BREATHE.
P.S. Oh, and Doom's Eye is just a messenger that's deployed from every royal Black Arm's central eye, and nothing from Sonic media other than the games is included. That includes Eclipse and Black Death from the Sonic Universe comics.
