I always say it’s about a consistent routine not a schedule. As long as they’re on a predictable rotation they’ll be happy and your day goes easier. We have the same problem with naps and Parker. For months I had to drive him an hour away at least twice a month for an ENT apt and he always falls asleep in the car! He never has a good nap in the car and it makes him a crab cake. So getting off routine once you’re on one definitely shows how important the consistency is! Wake, change, eat, play, nap.
That’s basically my parents routine with the 1 and 2 year old: eat, play, change, sleep(morning)eat, play, change sleep(afternoon)eat, play, bath, potty, teeth, story, sleep(night night Ava and Sawyer. Stay in bed and go to sleep so we can have lots of fun tomorrow)and that’s their whole day. And if we have to tweak things like let’s say we need to go shopping or my parents need to work on something then morning or afternoon playtime turns into that shopping trip or morning or afternoon nap turns into mommy work time. And if we can’t follow the routine that’s okay: because babies and toddlers are going to do what they want to do anyway😅😅😅😅as long as you are consistent, whether it’s on paper, on a chalk board or dry erase board or in your mind then your good to go!
I love how casual and laid back your routine is! I was the same way when I was at home with my daughter but now we definitely have to keep her on a schedule now that she is older

Oakley is soooo sweet, he's 2 months older than my boy, and he like the cords too. We cannot keep a schedule neither, so comforting to see that we are not alone. I think his eyes are yours, and looks like Andrew around the mouth. I love the video! Kisses from Hungary ;)

I loved the video! My baby is 8 months old too now and we have similar routine. I liked how you can just give him pretty big pieces of eggs and he will eat it. This video really helped me to get an idea of how much babies should eat and nurse. Also funny thing I noticed is when you get Oakley you leave his wearable blanket in the crib and if Andrew gets him he brings him downstairs with the blanket on. That would drive me crazy because that means that I would have to make a special trip upstairs sometime before his next nap to make sure the Blanket is there when it’s needed.

😍 The cutest lil guy!!! My lil guy didn't have any luck with Huggies we use LUVS. We have very sensitive skin in this family so I am careful about what we use. I totally miss these days!!! My boy is 2 now and won't sit still 😂 typical toddler. Love your videos. 💕

What time do you and Andrew wake up. I ask because you both are always dressed and ready for the day very early
The only schedule I try to follow is for my toddler! Because she’s old enough to where I know when she gets cranky and NEEDS to sleep 😂 6 hour awake window on each side 😬 and my 4 month old has a 2ish hour awake window but I just follow his cues since he’s little!

Oakley is so cute. You make it look so easy. My little one is 10 months and still fights his naps at times. He is a little fighter and will cry almost every single time I put him in his crib, also cries anytime he wakes up. Any advice would be gladly appreciated. I have followed the takingcarababies program but it doesn't seem to be working for us.
My son was born Oct 19, 18 so they are basically the same age! Fun to see the similarities. My son is crazy though when we get him dressed or change his diaper. He just wants to go go go! We use overnight huggies at night because he definitely leaks through regular ones. Even sometimes he pees through those!

How do you get your baby to sleep thru the night? I'm a new mom..
shannon colding stimulate them (talking, singing, tummy time) during their wake times through out the day. Keep the house bright and loud during the day and dark and quiet at night. SWADDLE!! Often moms think their baby’s hate being swaddle but I guarantee they’ll love it and sleep better

Where i live U even get these right after leaving The Hospital. Its because The babys cant get it from The sun, like we so. So they get it supplemented
My baby needs the drop because he’s breastfed so that could be it too? I think baby formula has vitamin d in it.
Vitamin D is one vitamin that breastfed babies do not get from their mothers since it does not travel through breast milk so they recommend you give it to babies right after birth.

Veronica Rios consistency is key! It will be hard at first but the more you stick with something (through being exhausted and all) the easier it will get.
Veronica Rios do you mean he crawls out? That’s what mine did... I tried everything, and finally gave up and placed a baby lock on his door so he couldn’t escape. I’d find him on the floor most nights, but at least I knew he was safe... I’d just put him back to bed, the little stinker!

So real talk, why do you need a rug in a carpeted bedroom?
It adds extra design to the room, or maybe they hate the carpet color. There are tons of reasons. I'm going to be putting a rug in the already carpeted nursery for our baby boy, because I HATE the carpet color, but replacing carpet isnt an option for us right now.
They rent so maybe they don’t want stains or spills or anything on the carpet that isn’t theirs. Just a thought 😊
