In this video we will look at how to find the right size accordion. Piano accordions come in a lot of different sizes. Finding the right size accordion will make playing easier and will minimize fatigue and risk of injury. After watching this video, you will know how to measure your torso's length and match it with the length of the accordion's keyboard.
In the subsequent videos in this playlist, I'll try my best to answer the following questions:
Can I start learning the accordion with no prior experience in Music?
How hard is it to learn to play an accordion?
I can play the Piano, will that make it easier to play the accordion?
Which accordion should I buy?
Where can I buy a new Accordion?
Where can I buy a used Accordion?
Should I buy a used accordion in ebay?
Where can I rent an accordion?
What size accordion should I buy?
What is a tone Chambered accordion?
What tuning should I get, wet tuned or dry tuned?
If you have any more questions, feel free to drop me a message in RUclips, Facebook or Instagram

What is the cost of the 41kes in India many and how to buy
I'm not familiar with purchase options in India.
Great explainations, Josh. But you forgot to mention that there are very amny other kinds of accordion many of which may have greater appeal than the standard piano-key type. My preference is for "B-Griff" chromatic button kind since the treble buttons are much simpler in arrangement and very much easier to transcribe the key of music.
My main focus is a piano accordion with straddella bass. I recently started leaning the C system chromatic free bass on the left hand.
This video was for picking the right keyboard size. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll some day make a video about other types of accordions.
I found the chart of height vs accordion size really helpful, thanks!
I'm glad it helped. I found it from the website of Petosa accordions
Around me I can only find a 24 bass Selmer and a 32 bass China made Baile.
7th chord isn't critical for me though, is 24 bass still considered too small or if the Chinese Baile is still a good instrument?
It really depends on what you want. It is smaller and more limiting than a 48, 72 or 120 basses. Used Italian accordions will be better quality than Chinese made accordions.
@@BreezyBellows Yeah, I think I might go for the 32 bass for the first instrument since I planned it as a side instruments anyway.
On 48 bass, between 8x6 vs 12x4, which one do you find is more useful?
I can find both 48 and 60 bass within my budget if I were to buy online sight unseen.
It depends. I haven't played 48 bass that much. For the short time I played it, I found the number of bass notes very limiting. So, if I had to choose been 8x6 and 12x4, I'd go for more notes (12x4)
@@BreezyBellows thanks
Great information,thank you
This was incredibly helpful, thank you! I've been looking for a video exactly like this for a few days now and this is by far the best, you answered all the questions I couldn't find answers to!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it useful.
So, for taller people (> 175 cm), 41 key with 19" keyboard is the best fit, right?
Generally, yes. Unless you have weight considerations or if you like to walk around and play.
@@BreezyBellows I do not consider LMMH accordion with tone chamber, just regular LMMH piano accordion
I'm not sure how much weight a tone chamber adds to an accordion. I'm interested to find out.
If I want to play on 19 inch piano accordion by standing, is it possible to adjust straps to minimize back pains?
Really useful. Thanks
Thank you for the comment! Do you already have an accordion?
Very good points. Thanks.
