- JUNE 6, 2022 UPDATE: I fished with the Drifter 2 for the first time yesterday on the Provo River. It performed really well. Casts were precise and effortless.
Moonshine Rod Co. confirmed that this is the new Drifter 2 fly rod. It's a 9 foot 5 weight with AAA cork, performance carbon fiber blank, alignment dots, SiC stripping guides, Burl reel seat, and an extra tip section. It comes with a no fault lifetime warranty. All for $229.00 (from Amazon or moonshinerods.com) Go get one; you won't be disappointed!
The company is so good at no fault you damage or break the tip they will give you a extra one in the case so you can continue your fishing quest until the replacement comes now how convenient is that. The reputation of the company stands by its name.
Great video! Stoked to see what you catch!
Thanks! I love the Drifter 2. I've since caught a few trout (and tree branches) and have gotten compliments on the rod from other anglers. Well done!
you made breathtakiing recording~🙌
Your Fenwick "might" be Bamboo? There is a pretty clear difference.
I have a rod like this and i love it.
So a few days ago, I purchased the five weight drifter 2 and the seven weight drifter 2 . The rods look nice, but the only thing I don’t like is they’re made in China.
I was deterred from buying one because the marketing on them is very trendy and Dr. Squatch soap / Manscaper esque. I was worried it was a gimmicky brand. Would love an update
Great rod. I’ve fished it a couple of dozen times. Great feel. Has held up really well. I would buy it again without hesitation. Cork is amazing.
I have a couple of their Vesper series rods, these are all great rods. For the cork grip, you get a full-length 7” of cork (instead of those stupid shortened grips), and with a nice ergonomic contour and diameter that fits a majority of hands comfortably (plus reinforcing composite cork rings at the ends for durability). Yeah, I was skeptical of the marketing too-but I don’t like the direction that some of the big well-known companies are going: skinny shortened cork grips, no hook keeper, poor warranty, etc. This company is doing it right (and, I don’t work for them).
Junk Chinese rod
graphite = carbon just fyi
Service is not great .cost me 150 dollars to fix 2 broken tips on 2 new rods ,nice rods but because off service I will not buy them again,.
