thanks for reintroducing me back to marshmallow root. it detangled like nobodys business. didn't have slippery elm and aloe Vera make my hands itch. For anyone doing this when she says saturate , please do it. I didn't dilute it more water because my hair is tangle prone. Recommend this to anyone struggling with detangling.

LOVE your DIY's! Please, please a great demo video of how you use this mixture in your hair. Would love to see how it turns out when it is applied. Thanks so much for your wonderful hair product recipe! Looking forward to another of your DIY's!

I have been making/ using this detangler for the past month, and I've got to say it's better than any cheapy conditioner out there.
The herbs are somewhat expensive BUT the results are worth it. Right now I use deep conditioners+ styling creams and butters. Best investment ever.
*** you can store it for 2 wks in the fridge.... Add some vitE for storage life

Kem- Laurin Lubin Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm so sorry to hear you had trouble with our basket. There are a number of products that have special shipping requirements, as well as shipping restrictions for certain areas. The dry herbs should have no problem shipping to Canada. However we are unable to ship these same herbs in extract form to Canada, due to Department of Transportation regulations. Please call us at 8008793337 Monday through Friday between 9AM and 5PM PST or email us at customerservice@mountainroseherbs.com, and we would be glad to discuss your order with you and what your shipping options are. I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion. ~Alieta

I can not wait to try some of your recipes. I wanted to let you know that if you increase the amount of arrow root powder by a bit in your deodorant, you can put some of the mixture into a small/medium silicon mold you can pop them in the freezer, and after about 15-10 min they will be solid and pop right out.. I leave mine in the freezer in summer because it's cool and refreshing :) Also fenugreek is a great de-tangler if people don't have or can't find horsetail, they come in capsules as well.

great vid, love that you used natural herbs and brought light to refrigerating your product, people think i'm absurd for leaving putting my concoctions in the fridge lol

Could you do close-ups of the process in your videos please? it would be nice to know what everything looks like as its heated, when it cools, stirring it, etc. It's frustrating for me to watch your DIY's because you make some cool stuff but its like watching you cook on the other side of the room and never getting a close up look at some of the process. I just want to know that i'm doing it right. Thank You.

I used the marshmallow root in powder form with the same other ingredients listed..I added my water along with the first 2 ingredients. I cooked for 20 minutes and for some reason the consistency was watery and totally different from your consistency. It was so much left over that I had no other choice but to discard the rest. I did apply it to freshly washed hair but my results was unimpressive. If I try this recipe again I will make sure I use the whole marshmallow root as oppose to the powder form and see if I'll receive the same results.

Oldskool Chic thank you for sharing your experience because some people were asking me if they could use marshmallow powder. Now I know that's a bad idea.

Forgive me if you answered this already. How much watch did you boil the slippery elm and marshmallow root in? I missed that. Also, do you have bits of the slippery elm powder in your finished product? Whenever I do this I have particles left. Thanks!

hi Nikisha. I did the mixture 2 times. but it seems like it is too thick for the spray bottle to be able to spray it into my daughters hair. it gets stock.... what do I do wrong .i used the strainer .

    Hey Nikisha,
i was wondering if i could use extracts (organic) instead of using the actual roots.... would it make a difference? Finding the root in toronto is very expensive.

Keisha Lewis I have heard of people using the powder in recipes like these. I'm just not sure what the measurements would be for the powder! I say go for it!

    • @UrbanBushBabes

Mezzie Mkhonto you can substitute flaxseed to see if it gives you good slip. But it may not work as well as the slippery elm.
