I recorded this performance many, many years ago from broadcast. I had the VHS recording as well as the DAT recording of the broadcast. The band came to Harrisburg and I had the distinct pleasure of working with their sound engineer to semi-professionally record the show on a portable DAT machine. They let me set up the mics right behind the soundboard. The entire crew is spectacular. They met me at their hotel room and dragged me down backstage and out across the stage of a packed auditorium which caused the crowd to cheer. What a rush. All I did was send a polite email...
B.B. King and Los Lobos probably cross paths somewhere sonically and both have payed alot of dues. I think you shoud hear a B.B. King song called Born Again Human. It is off a lesser known album called "There must be a better world somewhere." It is a musicians music and it has David Newman on Sax, Dr. John on piano, Bernard Purdie on drums, and is written by Doc Pomus. I can garuntee that all the names I just mentioned influenced Los Lobos and you can probably find that in writing.

Dave is one of the best all around musicians out there today.
Very nice groove to this cut, highly addictive.
One of my favorite "hidden gems" from B.B. ...
