      @@aeronabril4737 my best advice is think of random things to draw and just let your brain flow without using references. References help influence your brain and can affect the way you draw something. Also if there's any little characters you draw often you could include them in your peices which many artists do. Try to sketch everyday or as often as possible rather than trying to make finished pieces every time. Hope this helps 😁

    I know this video is a bit old by now so you may know this already, but if you use the crop tool in Photoshop and hold ctrl while you click and drag, you can drag out a line along the angle of the top of your paper and the tool will automatically straighten your image for you. Figuring that out was a huge time-saver for me. Nice Work!

  • @MichaelisMoshu
    @MichaelisMoshu 5 лет назад +25

    Just to help make your life a bit easier. When you select a part of your piece in photoshop and cut it out you can use the option to 'paste in place'. I know the pc shortcut is ctrl+shift+v. Not sure what the mac option is off the top of my head but the drop down menu is 'edit/paste special/ paste in place. This way you don't have to double check if the part is lined up because photoshop put it right back where it cut out.

    • @katlandreth6430

    I JUST found this RUclips and I'm diggin' the vibe. I love seeing other artists process vids, thank you for sharing!
    I have a tip on the sketching process: Draw it out, scan it, and change the pencil lines to a non-photo blue. Print it out with the blue line work on heavier paper. THEN ink it on that blue ink print out. I agree that a direct hand-drawn piece looks much more alive. Once you dig that ink look, scan it again and drop out that blue in Photoshop.
    I know that final resellable artwork is a great addition to your flow, but should you get the need for a switch up this is a great option. This way enables you to play with your final inked look w/o sacrificing the final piece.

    Isn’t a vectorized image advisable when printing? And not a rasterized image?

    • @elletangere8964
      @elletangere8964 5 лет назад

      Please answer. I was taught that was the case as a raster image may not print with high quality.

    • @justynea7171

      @@elletangere8964 thats what I learned too! If a raster image needs to be printed for a larger print the edges will become pixelated if it wasn't created for the larger size!

      @everlopez7436 5 лет назад

      As long as your image is at least 300dpi, it doesn't have to be vectorized. Vector is safer though.

    • @MrCvG
      @MrCvG 5 лет назад

      True, you just need to be 300dpi image at original size you will print and then dont have problems, but i think is quite easy if he use AI to vectorize the lineart, more easy to him to colorize!!!

    From a screen printer:
    The main reason screen printing limits the number of colors you can use is because screen printing doesn't work like your typical ink jet printer. Each color in the artwork requires a screen, which is essentially a stencil. So if your art uses six colors, the job will require six stencils (or screens). The other limiting factor is the maximum number of print heads on the press. They come in 1, 4, 6, 8, 10, & 12 head configurations. Each color in your design is applied one at a time.

    Hi Ten Hundred. I enjoyed your video. Here's a Photoshop tip that will help you when you selected the bottom third of your image and floated it onto it's own layer. When you make your selection use the shortcut "command-shift-j" and that will cut and float the selection onto it's own layer in the exact same spot you selected it. No more cutting and pasting and having to line it up again. Hope that helps streamline your workflow a bit. Don't know if anyone else gave you that tip, but I didn't feel like wading through 500+ comments to see...Thanks for the video!

      After I made this, i relized i didnt even need to copy and past at all. I could have just adjusted the selection and it only would have affected the selected area

      Use your entire arm rather than your wrist when trying to draw straight lines. You will build up muscle memory with time and practice.
