  • Taking risks is essential to growing as a person. Daniel believes risks are there to teach us lessons and to keep us moving up in life.
He is a financier in the creative working field. Previously, Delgado worked with Ex-Bank-of-Mexico-Governor Carstens in the National Economic Sector, and for the past few months he has worked in Grupo Cinco, a publicity agency. This fall he will start his MBA in the Tuck School of Business.

I was never encouraged to take risks as I grew up and now I am 61 without achieving any thing of greatness. This stops today thanks to this video.... and I will urge my kids and grandkids to take risks and live life to the fullest.

When did your kids give you permission to force them into the world? Before or after you gave birth to them?
You FORCE THE GREATEST RISK - DEATH - EVER onto your kids by BREEDING them.

Death isnt a risk, its a certainty.
Also being able to have kids is a basic human right, are you asserting that he shouldnt be allowed to?

@naracia ghirga I find your comment disheartening. Imagine how life would be if all were encouraged to take risks and strive for greatness. Even failure has value as long as one learns and one keeps trying. Fall down 7 times but get up 8. I am now 65 and I have put forward as many new ideas as I can. I am getting resistance from the small-minded. I intend to keep pushing forward. If I fail I will keep pushing. Greatness is possible for all who try. We need to beat ourselves up for taking the easy way. We need to resist the idea that most people are not meant for greatness. The greatest fear of the power-elite is that the people will pull themselves out of the hole of mediocrity. Humanity belongs at the pinnacle.

@@theultimatereductionist7592 What are you saying? We are by nature driven to live and reproduce. Were you asked for permission to be forced on the world before you were born? I was not asked... I was just here. And I realize I have a choice. Live to give minimum effort and settle for minimum reward or live for maximum and soar among the eagles. Death is simply part of the cycle. We are born, grow older and die. That has been going on since life began. The real question is. Did you make the world a better place while you were here?

To be honest, my first reaction was to think the cave story was super silly, but these exaggered thoughts like "I´m gonna die" happen every time we feel paralyzing fear. Therefore, I made an effort to empathize with the speaker and then I realized I didn´t feel good about it at first because it reflected a part of me I don´t like and don´t fully accept. In summary, this talk inspired me to rethink what risk actually means to me.

Not all risks worth taking the deception element is hard to find , taking risk on a matter that surrounded by warning signs is suicide/self destruction , but taking a risk on a matter that you dont know whats their and there is no warning signs that would be the risk to take .

It is a wonderful speech. I really appreciate it sir. Honestly, I'm a risk averse person so I'm never willing to take any risks in both my professional life and personal life. From now on, I have motivation and determination to step out of my comfort zone in order to achieve something greater. If there is a failure, it will teach me valuable lessons. Thank you a lot. I was thinking about my early life. Now mind you I'm 35 years old. The thought was me flying a kite when I was young. I was having fun and it was flying great. I went to let out my string further and I got scared that at the end of the string it wasn't attached so I didn't let it out. I have always played it safe. I have a small construction business but I have always played it safe, the math. I have come to the conclusion that nobody ever makes it playing safe. They may make it but they never reach the real heights. I promise everyone reading this, I'm going to find out how high my kite can fly! I'm done playing safe

An alternative to risks is to consider running experiments. Set a time limit, that is the best part, accept failures. Failures will break your current way of thinking and will force you to think differently. And then you will live differently. Stay disciplined when running experiments! Be a better tortoise, not a hare.

Life isn’t worth anything if you never take risks. It isn’t worth anything if you don’t have memories that you can share. The one way to achieve something great in your life is to step outside your boundaries, to take a risk of what you don’t know the outcome. You could easily take a safe job,or you could take your dream job and enjoy every second of it. You could easily watch people having fun, taking risks, enjoying their life, or you could be the one out there making wonderful memories, living a life you won’t ever forget. It’s all up to Y͟o͟u͟ to decide. some people might die one day with nothing special to remember, and some people might die doing what they love, holding memories of the crazy and fun things they did in life. The easy way in life is to play it safe, but sometimes, it’s better to not play it safe and to do what your gut tells you to do. Don’t be afraid of failure, be afraid of never knowing wether you would’ve f͟a͟i͟l͟e͟d͟ ͟o͟r͟ ͟s͟u͟c͟c͟e͟e͟d͟e͟d͟.͟

    Good on you
I just come back from a 6000km ride across central America with a motorcycle, and it was my first time ever on a motorcycle, doing it alone, no motorbike knowlege except for how to open the tank.
And then I see these 40-50-60 years old men with their new BMW of 1200 parking next to my old 94 Honda 600 that I just got 2 weeks ago for 1000usd.
I feel happy for these guys to finally be making one of their ultimate dreams come true but feel sad that they had to wait 30 years to make this come true while I hit the road on my own without knowing what I was doing and I m 25
What I wanna say with this is, just take risks. Honestly just f*cking try at least. As soon as you re not putting yourself in a supid deadly situation, why not giving it a try? And alone if no one can or wants to join.
Worst case scenario you ll have the attention of all your friends for months because you ll have so many stories to tell
I speak about that in the field of adventure, but it s the same for anything else involving travel or not
Just have fun in the end and dont wait to be retired to enjoy your life🔥 yolo as we say lol

So rich guy essentially goes cave climbing/spelunking, and is about to "die", and somehow records himself without screaming or crying and makes an instagramable video of " I'm tired, and I have a lot to climb, watch me overcome!" If he really felt he was dying he would have made a message for his loved ones, or called the authorities, or made some kind of final will/message. He didn't.
