There are several factors in Mac speed ups. One place I found that succeeds in merging these is the Mels Speed Method (check it out on google) without a doubt the most useful treatment that I've heard of.Check out all the super information .
This was brilliant! Thank you for creating this video. It helped a lot with my MacBook Air from 2015. It runs much better. I deleted 50,000 files from my cache lol. I had never deleted them.
Very well done. I have a 2012 Mac Mini and following your vlog, when I emptied the trash, I kicked out 7708 files. I had programs trying to launch on my user profile that I haven't used since 2012. Now I can start saving up for the Mac Mini M1x! I don't have to immediately replace this tried but trusty old dog!
Thank you so much for this. I have had problems with my mac for months now with it freezing for minutes on end and browsers not wanting to load pages. i dont know what fixed everything from not freezing to internet issues but i am thankful that you made the video.
Thank you for making this video! I've saved this for when I get a new laptop. I've always been pretty careless with storage so I wanna get it right next time :) I might try this with my old Mac but I'm worried it'll just crash lol
Great video. I am still having issues with an old Mac (2012) on which I am not able to get into safe mode in order to reinstall my OS. Any ideas how to achieve this? Thanks.
At 18 mins I just hit empty bin and 16,490 items where deleted, already computer seems to be responding faster, we’ll see what the rest of your tips does
As a mac user since 2011, I did not even know of these features or problems with my mac. I just think maybe its because my device is old and what not. Im just mediocre user tbh using my mac without regards to what I do or not do with it, especially with system maintenance and stuff. Ive been watching your videos for days now, checking everything that I can learn from especially with the new M1. Your videos are so great and straightforward! helps a lot especially for someone who does not know much about how these things work. If anyone knows or have an idea, all it be possible for me to update my old pro late 2011 to newer OS? its stuck at Sierra 10.12.6 and there's no software update available for me in the app store.
tried the tricks from your older video a year ago and helped me a lot! now, my mac's fan doesn't constantly sound like its about to take off everytime I do some heavy work with it.
I might not have used a Macbook a lot but definitely after watching all of your video's I have learnt a lot about Macbook and it's operating system. 😇😇 By the way I think you have alot of knowledge regarding Mac's 😁😁😇
I had 43k when I got the old iMac I picked up. 1TB physical disk, 8gb ram, Intel version. It was SOOOOO slow when I got it. Cleaning out the 8gb of cached files helped a lot, but most of the help was by disconnecting the internet so it would stop reporting randomly for ad tracking, and to stop it from opening all the apps that were opening on startup. It took some doing, but it works well now. I disagree with updating to the latest version of available OS though, especially with an old computer. If you have a stable OS and run independent malware/anti-virus software, the OS upgrade will likely slow your computer down when you have out of date hardware. The most current updates are optimized for a current computer with current hardware. I updated to Sierra (10.13) and stopped. Even Google is upset about that, but oh well. It works fine, and going to a newer update won't likely help this old computer to run any faster. It would help with a newer computer, but not with old hardware.
There are a few components to Mac speed ups. One resource I found that successfully combines these is the Mels Speed Method (google it if you're interested) definately the most helpful treatment that I have ever heard of.Check out the unbelievable info .
Wow that's really helpful!! Thank you for the update, I tried some here in Catalina and at most worked well but I think the most impactful tip was the "sudo mdutil -E /" (at least for me, because my machine is from 2009)
Thank you for the video! This really helped my Macbook Air, I ended up deleting 45,000 files off it lmao, but with my iMac (late 2015) it's still really slow, even after deleting a wapping 80,000 items, do you have any suggestions on how I could repair it?
Don’t install any updates. Apple updates are designed to intentionally cripple older devices. There is no fix other than buy new every 2 years, but windows, or don’t update. But the problem with not updating is that apple also intentionally prevent apps from running if your computer isn’t up to date. Making your device useless. Be prepared to spend lots of money, or buy windows. I’m about to switch back to windows, as I’ve have nothing but problems with mac
I don’t have a mac but i just want to say that you give good advice like alway ( commenting for this giveaway tbh) sorry for the bad english, i’m french😅
I've noticed that spotlight already fix itself at boot. I see the process eating a lot of CPU usage for about a min or two then boom my mac is fast AF. I'm running Monterey so maybe they set it up to reindex at startup or something I don't know. 🤔🤔🤔 I need answers... LMAO (I'm actually trying to get rid of that 93GB of System Data... o_O)
I have now run malware bytes and it took 30 mins 11 secs to run and found nothing with a green tick ✅ next tried the First aid on data drive and another 20 mins and complete with no faults, but slowed computer, tried safe mode, but just as slow in safe mode as normal mode, log in now takes about 5 -10 mins to get to desktop.
Thank you so much! This was actually really helpful for my Mac, I will make sure check all of your upcoming videos for more tricks!
Glad it helped!

when you find out what is using the most memory what do you do? do you delete or stop them? or is there something else you can do?

Are launch daemons the same as launch agents and can they be deleted in the same way?
Thank you so much for putting this all together. 🙏🏻
Great Video. EASY TO FOLLOW. I bookmarked this to go back to at a later date if needed. The files section was GREAT and it definitely helped.
There are different ways to uninstall programs in a Mac. What's the best way of doing it?... If there's any difference at all.
