    there's a live at Wacken recording of Perennial which is studio quality AND she works the crowd all the time. they are that good.

    You should checkout the Live in Waken version of Perennial, something about seeing those vocal switch ups live is wild. The recording of that performance was flawless.

    Pit of Counciousness LIVE in Kiev. This one you have to do live, the recording is absolutely insane.
    Kudos to the engineers involved in capturing that show and video.

    And It will go on and on and on. First I could not believe it, but after a few tracks and vids it dawned on me I stumbled into a world class four piece unit with a huge catalogue and a humongous live reputation! Out of all places: Ukraine?!!! How can that be?

  • @steveherman6909
    @steveherman6909 Год назад +19

    I can't properly put into words how tight this band plays as many of their tracks have limited repetition. The heavy open pluck Eugene does twice on his B string at the close of "Teacher, Teacher" is such a cool sound.
    Musically brilliant in all of their choices, whether Tatiana's cleans to harsh, Roman's very interesting chord progressions, Eugene's tapping and slides to go along with his heavy finger picking and Vlad going from blast beats to ghosting on the snare with syncopated cymbal hits.
    Their MV's are all excellent quality, but you won't be disappointed if you dip into any live performances such as you did with "Who Is Gonna Be the One?" I know you were a bit perplexed by the ending tempo and stylistic change in that reaction, but as you go further with this incredible band, I think you will perhaps grasp how it fits with their approach to song composition.

      @steveherman6909 Год назад +4

      Agreed Frank. Still a killer track regardless, but mildly surprised as Cheezy does enjoy live performance a little more than the studio recording. As with all of their MV's, excellent quality, so we do get the experience.

    I had to sub! Watching you be affected by this band reminds me of my own experience in 2020, right at the start of the pandemic. Dark times, until Jinjer turned my world upside down. See, I can count on one hand the number of new bands I've gotten into since the 1980s. So for a modern band to grab me like this is really something. Jinjer is one of those special bands that have something magical about them. It makes me so happy to see people like you enjoy this magic for the first time. I really hope you enjoy this rabbit hole.

    There are tracks that Jinjer does layer in Tati's vocals, some more obvious than others, but they are all her with some standard effects (reverb, echo, etc.). Her growls are genuine and not colored with distortion and the layering is to add a roundness to fill out the space.

    The twin songs Home Back, about losing their homes in Eastern Ukraine in 2014 and Retrospection about missing their families are both heartfelt, gripping, incredible lyrically, with powerful videos and total fucking bangers. You are seeing why Jinjer is my favorite band.

    As far as new music goes this band is the
    G O A T.... Although they're getting a small amount of internet Fame they are still not getting much overall worldwide recognition as they should be. This band is phenomenal. I've been a big fan and following them for about three years and I just can't imagine any band being better than these guys. I wish they would start playing them on rock radio and also I'd like to see this band at an awards show.

      it's a fringe genre. they're never going to get mainstream success the way Metallica or somebody like that could. unless they sell out which I wouldn't blame them if they did but I don't see it happening. shit their last album was less accessible than any they've ever done... and it was a fucking masterpiece
