Well, please don’t wait too long. I just repaired a patient with a prolapse the size of a honeydew melon and her sister had told her to wait as long as she could. She concurs that that was not good advice. She’s doing well now with complete continence, and no longer has a prolapse. Just don’t continue to suffer. Let me know if there’s anything else that I can do or any other video subjects that would be best.
Thank you so much. This was so informative. I’ve been battling with stage two cystocele and rectocele for about three years now I have seen a PT and it relieve the symptoms but they tend to always come back. I have lost weight but the minute I gain two or 3 pounds I feel pressure I am 53 and perimenopause, and still getting my menstrual cycle but very heavy and very irregular now my last one seemed to have pushed the prolapse out to probably a stage three scared me to death. I do not want mesh anything foreign inside me I’ve been trying to avoid the surgery I cannot pick up my grandbabies. I cannot run around too much without suffering later on having to put my feet up the pressure is unbearable, especially right before my menstrual cycle is supposed to come, I have periods where I can go a week or two without any symptoms but now I’m at a point where I welcome the surgery but do not want mesh seems to be more my uterus and cervix than my bladder. I’ve gone to a urogyno and my bladder seems to be working fine and I empty completely I asked for a hysterectomy, but they said that would not help my problem completely. What would you suggest? I am truly exhausted
You need help and this is a severe life disabling problem that most people don’t understand. Surgery without mesh is very possible but use of biological skin grafts are extremely effective. Hysterectomy can be but is not always necessary. Good luck.
If you have not gotten a password yet, please consider getting one. It has helped me immensely. My problem is prolapsed uterus and bladder. It is at least at a very moderate stage. And pelvic floor therapy, along with the pessary may help you.
I have stage 4 bladder prolapse. I am 76. I am so glad to see this video. I wish you were my doctor! Even at stage 4 I can live with this bulge as long as it doesn't get huge! Lately there has been slight bleeding because of the irritation caused by pads worn because of slight bladder leakage. Is there a cream or gel that I can apply to the pad or onto the bulge itself without any harm? This is all I need right now. If you could kindly respond to this question, I would be most grateful. Thank you!
You are tougher than most, a stage 4 prolapse is difficult to live with. A pessary could be helpful. Estrogen cream can be helpful but Cerave cream OTC is not harmful. Petroleum jelly can help with irritation as well.
Hello doctor . Can I visit you in Tennessee? I live in Atlanta . I would be really grateful if you could assess my situation and guide me or do my surgery . But will I be able to fly back in a few days from Tennessee to Atlanta ? Can I email you

I had a bladder lift that went to stage four. It was terrible .I could not walk at this stage and surgery was finally done. Today after many years I sometimes feel like my bladder is slowly falling again so this information is very helpful. Thank YOU.
The bladder is the weakest part of the repair and often may need to be repaired again. Wait as long as you can but don’t suffer again like you did before.
Many doctors also think it is the only option as well. Just discuss the other possibilities. If you trust your doctor always consider what they do best and have a frank discussion of the alternatives.
I think there are Urogynecology physicians available at the University but I’m not sure how long will it take to get in and be evaluated and then have the correct surgery. Prayers for you to find the help you need!

CNA and lifting and repositioning people has made mine fall out I remember the day it happened I was transferring a patient and I had to Bear their weight and I felt something fall out of me and I put my residence back in bed then went to the bathroom to see what it was and my nurse/supervisor said it was a prolapse uterus from lifting all the heavy people
A uterus can fall but you have options. Certainly consider a pessary so go to your gynecologist and ask to be fitted for that. A pessary can help you keep working and feeling comfortable with lifting patients. Surgery could also help but you need to be careful with lifting with can lead to failure.

I’ve had a pessary for 3 years, I have a surgically (smaller) reformed bladder, it was done after my hysterectomy. Now I don’t have prolapsed issues, just the constant pain and bloating that extends from the abdominal area. My gastro doc told me to see a urogynocologist. I did. Nothing can be done🤷🏼♀️ I feel horrible and keep bouncing from Dr to dr trying different things 😢
This sounds like a very difficult problem that I cannot know exactly what’s happening with your bladder, but sometimes scarring can lead to a restricted bladder capacity. Pain in the bladder area also can be interstitial cystitis and seeing a urologist or Urogynecologist that evaluates that would be appropriate.
Thank you for your information. I have a level two cystocel, and currently going to PT, plus using estrogen cream. I’m 74, a breast cancer survivor, and I had a hysterectomy years ago. I was referred to the PT by a gynecologist but would like a second opinion. I’m looking for someone in the Portland! Oregon area near OHSU.
Yes, I will try to get in to see someone there even if it takes a few months. I found out yesterday I now have a bladder infection. My husband passed from bladder cancer 18 months ago. It’s been difficult. Once again, thank you
3 years ago I was told that I have stage 2 bladder prolapse and a stage 1 rectum prolapse. They did mention something about a vaginal they did mention something about a rectocele but I'm not sure if that is the rectum prolapse or whether it's something different. The surgeon 3 years ago wanted me to have a complete hysterectomy because of a cyst on my ovary and at the same time the another surgeon was going to fix the rectocele. When I refused to have the hysterectomy the other rectocele surgeon said that she didn't want to fix the rectercele. Three years later (last month) I decided to get a second opinion and this surgeon said I didn't need hysterectomy. However, because of severe constipation my life is miserable. Nothing that I take relieves the constipation and I have tried everything. Miralax, enamas, fiber, colonics and of course I completely changed my diet by eliminating sugar, and dairy. I then went to another incontinence Doctor who said that my bladder prolapse was still stage 2 and my rectum was stage 1. (The same as it was 3 years ago) I'm a very young 76 years old and I use to be very active but now my whole quality of life has changed. All the incontinence doctor suggested was that I do kegel exercises and use vaginal hormone cream. I'm at a loss as what to do because I am constipated every day of the week all day. Although I don't have any pain it's very uncomfortable constant pressure. Please can you tell me what I should do because I don't feel I'm getting any answers from the many doctors that I have already seen.
I can’t tell you exactly what to do without examining you myself, but even with the stage one rectocele you could be very symptomatic with severe constipation. These problems can be repaired and often I will do that without a hysterectomy as well. A pessary, and sometimes also help with the bladder but may not help with the rectocele. I have had some patients that it really helped though. You certainly need a doctor that will give you a plan. Kegel exercises may help but they won’t fix the problem.
Hi. In regards of constipation, HAVE YOU EVER TRIED DRY PRUNES❓️ As far as I know, they never fail. 3 or 4 is all you will need but, as of course, talk to your Dr first. Be well 🙏 PS: Thank God I don't suffer constipation. However, friends & family members are greatful I recommend that to them. because they've been being helped by that
It is terrible. I am only 53 but I feel like I am 90 very uncomfortable specially, when I’m running around I have a barbecue coming up or I have to cook and entertain and I’m terrified.
Most common prolapse after hysterectomy is cystocele and upper vaginal prolapse. Do Kegel’s and try not to lift heavy weights. Surgery might be necessary at some point though.
What a lovely doctor wish you were in the UK, I had a total hysterectomy a few years ago and its now left me with a prolapse bladder, I've tried having rings inserted but didn't work for me 😢I'm now waiting to get a hospital appointment, I just pray this painful problem can be sorted, I haven't got much confidence in getting this resolved 🇬🇧😪

@@erehquelam at your age most likely it is not prolapse, but you should certainly see your pediatrician and have that evaluated. It will be a little bit embarrassing, but it’s worth understanding what’s going on.
I am stage 4 pelvic floor prolapse. A few years ago I had my uterus removed. Now my bladder fills my hand. I am going in for some big surgery July 30. They will pull up everything and attach it to my sacrum. The doctor said it is a mess. I can't remember everything he said but basically i am a mess. I am hoping this is a safe surgery for me. He has me putting a tiny pill inside to strengthen the tissues before surgery. He will also use mesh for the bladder sling. It will be robotic. Any suggestions? I don't get along with anesthesia as I have a difficult time waking up and it takes a long time. Thanks.
You are having a surgery called a Sacral Colpopexy. It is a very effective surgery using mesh attaching the upper vaginal area directly to ligaments on the tailbone. It’s a very effective procedure if done by the right person. The bladder sling is also very effective and should be great ways to fix your problems. I’ve seen the effectiveness for both of these procedures to be over 95%.
@@DrJeffreyMcQueary That sounds great. Thanks for the encouragement. Dr. Ty Erickson is my doctor and he goes to Africa and does this for the poor, mistreated women over there and does a lot of them here in the US as well. good luck with your surgery and post operative recovery! There are many medications that can help with nausea after the surgery. Ask anesthesia to help.

Thank you for your kind comments. I think there are many caring physicians, all over the world who enjoy helping women with these problems. But certainly don’t suffer and seek help for prolapse issues. The goal of my videos is to make sure that people know what is available.
I'm sorry I don't understand if this is normal. Why are women not told this especially after having children. I feel its a set-up by the medical field. I'm 63 now have bladder prolaspe and my cervix has fallen and possible stage 1 rectal prolaspe. I think this happened to me b/c of hard coughing from being sick last year. I also had a UFE 2011 now my uterine lining is scared, to thick (to thick to be bisoped b/c uterus is scared) and possible change in fibroids increasing in size (up in size). I started BHT after menopause I guess it did'nt help because I still ended up with proplase. I had a UFE to keep my uterus to keep my organs in place and still ended up with prolaspe. I was fitted with a pressary last week, but was told it is something I won't be able to wear one forever. I was told my only options are remove the uterus use mesh or use my own tissue. Was told using my own tissue could only lead to prolaspe again. How do you determine if your tissue is strong enough to be used? Do you know of any doctors in the Chicago area?
Well, please don’t be ashamed to go to the doctor. They see these type of problems all the time. You have the right to be helped as well as anybody, and there are many things that can be done including non-surgical techniques. That can be very successful.
I am now 35 and I also had this problem . It is in the forth stage and now i did a sling sugery. Now i am doing exercises. But my doctor said my intestine is also coming down.
This can all be repaired. Did you only have a sling and not repair of the prolapse? Exercises will not help a enterocele very much which is when the intestines are falling. This can be fixed.
Urethral prolapse does cause stress incontinence, which is leaking with coughing and sneezing. This certainly can be improved with both physical therapy and kegel exercises, as well as potentially even surgery.
thank you for explaining the different forms it can take, this is for my mum and DRs just say er exercise Keagle, diet blah! you mention Mesh is this not dangerous? thanks again
That is why I published these videos because women need more information in a practical form. I did mention mash, but that typically is only used around the urethra or abdominal suspension and is safe when done by an experienced reconstructive surgeon.
It sounds like you have severe nerve damage or potentially have prolapse that is causing poor flow of urine and stool. He certainly need evaluation by a gynecologist to determine that.
Your biggest issue is probably trying to empty your bladder. Try to always push up on your bladder so that will empty better. Kegels exercises can definitely help to make things stronger. But if nothing is helping, then consider surgery because it can be very successful in solving your issues.
This doctor is lovely. Easy to talk to and kind

what helps me: Kegel exercises, pelvic strengthening exercises, Sex ( pushes the bladder into place, often for a whole day!!!
have decided against surgery at this point!!!
@@DrJeffreyMcQueary thanks, having mine checked regularly.....getting better w exercise and hormone cream!
Good luck.

I feel so sorry for you! I have mild to moderate and that's bad enough.
If you have not gotten a password yet, please consider getting one. It has helped me immensely. My problem is prolapsed uterus and bladder. It is at least at a very moderate stage.
And pelvic floor therapy, along with the pessary may help you.
Thank you so much for your information I've been dealing with this from 2016 im 56yrs thx from South Africa 🎉
Hope you find help!

Thank you for describing so many different options. I didn’t know they existed. I thought hysterectomy was the only option.
Many doctors also think it is the only option as well. Just discuss the other possibilities. If you trust your doctor always consider what they do best and have a frank discussion of the alternatives.
Thank you Dr. for your professionalism. Please move to Toronto. I would love to come see u. I need help!
I think there are Urogynecology physicians available at the University but I’m not sure how long will it take to get in and be evaluated and then have the correct surgery. Prayers for you to find the help you need!

Once again, thank you
A few months is common and they should do well for you!
This very helpful
I hope this video was able to give you some information that can make your life better.
However,
because of severe constipation my life is miserable.
(The same as it was 3 years ago)
I'm a very young 76 years old and I use to be very active but now my whole quality of life has changed.
In regards to constipation I drinking mango juice helps.
Hi. In regards of constipation, HAVE YOU EVER TRIED DRY PRUNES❓️ As far as I know, they never fail. 3 or 4 is all you will need but, as of course, talk to your Dr first. Be well 🙏
PS: Thank God I don't suffer constipation. However, friends & family members are greatful I recommend that to them. because they've been being helped by that
Have you tried taking magnesium for constipation? It keeps me regular.
Thank you so much I’m currently afraid I may be going through this and too embarrassed to talk on it
Don’t be embarrassed! Many women have these problems just get help because you can get help!

I had a total hysterectomy 35 years ago, and now have a prolapse of some sort, don’t know what it is.
Most common prolapse after hysterectomy is cystocele and upper vaginal prolapse. Do Kegel’s and try not to lift heavy weights. Surgery might be necessary at some point though.

Dr. Ty Erickson is my doctor and he goes to Africa and does this for the poor, mistreated women over there and does a lot of them here in the US as well. What kind of estrogen?
Vaginal estradiol or Premarin cream
Do you know of any doctors in the Chicago area?
hope my explanation helps
I need ur advice I have prolapse I'm scared and shamed to go to doctor
Well, please don’t be ashamed to go to the doctor. They see these type of problems all the time. You have the right to be helped as well as anybody, and there are many things that can be done including non-surgical techniques. That can be very successful.
I am now 35 and I also had this problem . It is in the forth stage and now i did a sling sugery. Now i am doing exercises. But my doctor said my intestine is also coming down.
This can all be repaired. Did you only have a sling and not repair of the prolapse? Exercises will not help a enterocele very much which is when the intestines are falling. This can be fixed.
Prolups exercises helps me a lot
Great
I am diagnosed with mild urethra prolapse recently, and my symptoms affect my quality of life.
Urethral prolapse does cause stress incontinence, which is leaking with coughing and sneezing. This certainly can be improved with both physical therapy and kegel exercises, as well as potentially even surgery.
@@DrJeffreyMcQueary thank you
thank you for explaining the different forms it can take, this is for my mum and DRs just say er exercise Keagle, diet blah! you mention Mesh is this not dangerous? thanks again
That is why I published these videos because women need more information in a practical form. I did mention mash, but that typically is only used around the urethra or abdominal suspension and is safe when done by an experienced reconstructive surgeon.
Good afternoon
I had lower back surgery the L4&L5 fused after surgery I use a catheter and has problems with passing stools. What can I do
It sounds like you have severe nerve damage or potentially have prolapse that is causing poor flow of urine and stool. He certainly need evaluation by a gynecologist to determine that.
Very frustrating
True
I had a hysterectomy and I think my bladder is prolapsed. Dr I what you think about the impressa the over counter pessari.
It is mostly for stress incontinence. It can help if you have that problem.
I hv cystocele 2 .
Do you feel surgery or kegels will help. Kindly suggest
Your biggest issue is probably trying to empty your bladder. Try to always push up on your bladder so that will empty better. Kegels exercises can definitely help to make things stronger. But if nothing is helping, then consider surgery because it can be very successful in solving your issues.
