This comment is incredibly old, but I just played this game today, so here’s a tip: stand so that you’ll be in between the red and blue heads. Use a plasma shot to destroy the red head on the right while sigma sucks up the debris. Then, once the head is destroyed, wall jump into the corner of the room and stay there until the attack ends. Be sure to leave immediately after the attack ends, though - you don’t want to get squished by the heads spawning in.

The third phase always made me feel really weird. Like Sigma goes from a relatively normal looking Reploid and then he's just a giant head shooting wind and garbage at you.
I think the idea, which may have been lost in translation (not surprising considering X4's dub), was that after his Grim Reaper form was destroyed Sigma used his viral form to infect the Final Weapon itself. This is why both of the main Sigma bodies in his 3rd form have cable like attachments to the Final Weapon and how Sigma was able to set the Final Weapon to self-destruct despite being busy fighting you.
I think those are attacks from past maverick the wind is similar so storm eagle x1 and the trash similar to morph moth from x2, the laser looks similar that the one you get from cyber peacock
Yeah that attack really sucks. He won't do it if the scythe that he throws gets stuck on a wall tho. So you can bait him to throw the scythe at the wall and then he won't fire the boomerangs. The scythe gets stuck on either a wall or floor every other throw.
Oh god, that third form... Let me get this straight. X popped in on Sigma in the middle of a new body-building session, where he had a big, gun-wielding reploid without legs and the half-finished head of his new giant form? It's so weird!
A few of Sigma's bodies are unfinished when X/Zero/Axl drop in on him. That's why several of them are stationary during the final battle. It makes sense for the Maverick Hunters to try and bust him before he can complete presumed WMDs. The player characters are special ops sent to take him down before he causes further damage.
Definitely true, but I think 4 and 6 are the ones where it's clear Sigma's had the least time to prepare. I mean, what are those three sigma totem heads? My only explanation is that Sigma was super unfinished at that time, but even that's a bit vague given how two forms don't seem to match anything else he's done.
Hell no, the final Form is really easy, I only died like 4 times because I was taking my time learning the Patterns instead of trying to rush or kill him. X1 Sigma was much more challenging than him.

I've been fighting that creepy fuck for two hours and I had every powerup, and I was ready to give up until I saw your video and realized it could be done without any powerups and 15 minutes later I finally beat him. Thanks for your help!
Here is some explantation and strategies (using X, I still have to beat him with Zero): First of all, I would recommend having at least 1 or 2 subtanks (What you can find, and whatever you think should be enough for you), and having the X-Buster and Leg upgrade (You can get the helmet one if you want). -The first form is easy peasy, as you can do as you see above in the video, or if you got the X-Buster upgrade, hit him a the charged Rising Fire, and then it should have lost most of his health and finish him off. -The second form can be less of a threat with a simple pattern: After he throws his scythe the first time, the 2nd time he will throw it at you, and you should be hanging/walljumping in the wall and IMMEDIATELY drop off when he throws it to the wall (Delay some little and it will hit you), and then go to the wall above him and shoot him (kinda like the video). Rinse and repeat this, as the scythe pattern keeps repeating, and as long as you keep making the scythe hit the wall, you shouldn't have a lot of problem. -The third form: If you have the X-Buster upgrade, it will help loads. When the three heads appear without a large robot on the right/Sigma giant head on the left appearing, you should have charged the X-Buster and use it against the head that is attacking you. The yellow one can be a little more difficult with the thunders and that it's in the upper center, the red one will come from the right and shoot fireballs, and the blue one (easier one) will come from the right with a ice breath. When the large robot appears, try to see quickly what attack it will use, or rather pay attention to the colored heads position, if they form a wall, then hang in the wall, as the robot will use a attack that will always hit the ground (and you if you are in it), and if it forms kind of a ladder, then it will shoot lasers, try making it shoot down and use those chances to attack him. When the Sigma head appears, you should always keep in the right side (but not too close, there is a possibility that you could end dead in spikes) and when you notice that the heads are in the floor, use the charged buster to get rid of the heads that get in your way to hit the Sigma head, and it will be easier to not get hurt if you have the buster upgrade (the plasma balls will protect you from the debris Sigma will throw). If the heads are in the upper part, keep charging the buster and shooting it as soon as it's charged as fast as you can, along with dashing and dashing to avoid getting pushed to spikes. That is roughly what I can tell from my fight with him (which I just could beat :D), but probably there is something of that general idea in the video too (He gets through it UNHARMED).
@Juan C. my dude I didn't even remember I had written this, this was over 5 years ago I haven't even played X4 again (though I should) so hey there, good luck with that ligma
An usefull advice to everyone, configure the buttons to shoot with R1, dash with square, and jump with X, this way you can charge, dash and jump all at once.
My best advise for this final Sigma battle is one, do your best to get as many of the heart tanks as possible since those greatly expand your life gauge! Ideally you’ll want ALL of them but if you’re one short you can make it work with at least one Energy Tank. Two, get at least one of the two Energy Tanks, even with just one you’ll have a lot more breathing room in case you take a bit of unexpected damage! It’ll just make the final fight a lot more doable. Finally, make SURE you get the Buster upgrade that gives you the proton burst! A powered up buster shot with a proton burst timed right will do a LOT of extra damage and should help you get by! I know this advice might seem obvious to some but I hope it helps at least one person!
it took me 3 replays of this game to realize that his face in the final form isn't a strange old man with a croissant-shaped head and a blonde mustache
I remember when I was fighting Sigma's two final forms, and I decided to charge up Soul Body for the lulz, then Sigma turned into that giant head form and blew the real X straight toward the spikes. I thought I was gonna die, but the spikes disappeared before the effect of Soul Body worn off. XD
When I first saw Sigma Gunner, I was like "Uh... OK." Then I heard the music and my reaction was "Well, that doesn't sound good" or "Uh-oh" type of deal. Later the 3 Sigma heads come in: "OK, that's getting weird." And at last, Earth Sigma comes into play: "OH WHADAFAK?!" All these things, plus powerful and hard to dodge attacks made up for a battle full of "OH SHIT! OH F***! OH SHIT! OH F***!"
Sigma" Prepare to become SPACEDUST!!" " TREMBLE WITH TERROR, YOU ARE FINISHED!!!' ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR FINAL JOURNEY??! Was I the only one who had a lot of trouble with this boss. I beat it last night after 3 days of hard work which is why I'm on this video. This was the first X game I have ever beaten and to me the final boss was awesome but hard.
There's a faster way on how you beat the grim reaper sigma. 1. Rising Fire 2. Rising Fire 3. Dash under him and Rising Fire. Then quickly dash on the right most / left most where he cannot hit you (It depends if he warps on the left or right but you'll get this strategy) 4. Repeat until his cloak burns Works everytime for speedrunning. I advise you stay in the middle so there is a quick time for you to avoid his scythe
What do you do about the rock sucking attack? I can dodge every one of his attacks except that one. plus i cant hit him when he does it so i die eventually before i can kill him.
I have just made an observation: every time the Sigma disappears and the three colored heads are about to appear, I think I might be able to minimize the damage I take by dashing towards and climbing up the left wall. There's not much I can do about the yellow electric head (except hit it with X's Plasma Shot), but at least I probably won't have to worry about the red head's fireballs anymore.
He placed certain restrictions on himself, like taking no damage, using no charge shot, no special weapons, etc. Unfortunately Grim Reaper Sigma only took damage from fire weapon, so he couldn't put those on the title. It was a good run though. IMO X4 final boss was the easiest, X3 is just a nightmare.
When you were partying, this man studied the frame data. When you were having premarital sex, this man mastered the charged buster. While you wasted your days at the gym in pursuit of vanity, this man cultivated inner strength.
You did good. I only managed to take no damage on the two first forms of Sigma. I know the attack you said to be the hardest to dodge, is the one he spits all kind of rocks into you, right? This attack can be very cheap at times.
By far the most fun Sigma fight out of any of the games. Fast paced, tons of attacks/projectiles that you have to dodge, crazy music, and tough at first but very doable once you learn all his attack patterns. Although the yellow helmet and projectile attacks are still somewhat hard to dodge, everything else is easy and is enough to finish him off even if those first two attacks hit you a few times. And of course, the quirky charm that only an outlandish Sigma Final Form Design can deliver. Only complaint is that the first two phases are so easy that it's just unnecessary gameplay time padding
You are utterly DERANGED for doing this, I just played through the whole game using unarmored X and no upgrades, but I gave up without even attempting this fight at the sheer thought of having to fight FOUR bosses back to back without E-tanks and no armor
+Sebastian Paredes he will aim the scythe at you, all you got to do is lure him to throw it on the wall (by positioning youself mid air when he is about to throw it .. that way he will always hit the wall and then, no boomerangs.

Wow! I couldn't even come close to doing this without the Nova Strike suit, and even then I would die. Hats off to you my man! Well done!
An usefull advice to everyone, configure the buttons to shoot with R1, dash with square, and jump with X, this way you can charge, dash and jump all at once.
Old goat I always set my dash to L1
You can still do that with the default config, just gotta keep your thumb in a more horizontal position
@@DiegoGarcia-se4on sure but I've never did that, it would be like relearning to use the controller, my playing improved a lot by shooting with R1.
Teacher: "The test is not hard"
The test:
Like the saying goes: "When life gives you lemons, hit Sigma in the face with them!"
Absolutely BOSS!!! Great tactics with no armor.
Impressive that you did that with just uncharged buster shots though. I would have thought you would use his weakness. Nice!
if you let sigma second form use its boomerangs, its GG
it took me 3 replays of this game to realize that his face in the final form isn't a strange old man with a croissant-shaped head and a blonde mustache
Sigma: *ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR FINAL JOURNEY?*
*(X dosent care and he he get away)*
Sigma: *Well.., Fuck lol*
X: shit
ARE YOU READY FOR ROUND TWO?!
Sigma's battle is pretty easy once you learn his patterns
the sound fx during his 2nd reaper form sound epic. Almost like an anime.
Um no Sigma I am not cause I got plenty of Journeys left in this Gamer🕹🎮🎮☺😊😃 SIgma will make you earn your win on his 3rd Form with consists of 2 Mini forms AHH😲 gotta get that Nova Strike!!baby!!I own him as X on Sigma with it⚡⚡
Was I the only one who had a lot of trouble with this boss. I beat it last night after 3 days of hard work which is why I'm on this video. This was the first X game I have ever beaten and to me the final boss was awesome but hard.
I have mad respect for you beating this buster only
There's a faster way on how you beat the grim reaper sigma.
1. Rising Fire
2. Rising Fire
3. Dash under him and Rising Fire. Then quickly dash on the right most / left most where he cannot hit you (It depends if he warps on the left or right but you'll get this strategy)
4. Repeat until his cloak burns
Works everytime for speedrunning. I advise you stay in the middle so there is a quick time for you to avoid his scythe
The Naval Repliforce Era. Dynamo and Gates will raise from its debris on megaman X5
Sigma brought a scythe and boomerangs this time. Two weapons! He must be getting desperate.
Sigma looks like quagmire 🤣🤣🤣
Is it OK if I yell and cry every time I die at the finale boss
"No one can stop it now"
X: *Damn*
What do you do about the rock sucking attack? I can dodge every one of his attacks except that one. plus i cant hit him when he does it so i die eventually before i can kill him.
2:59 - Great music! I will forever remember this game!
Tremble in terror are finished-sigma x4
There hasnt been a megaman game to date that I havent beaten. X4 is still my favorite out of the series. Next would be the m zero series.
What a gamer!
Being ready for round two
"wtf megaman x4 sigma is so fucking hard"
this guy:
I have just made an observation: every time the Sigma disappears and the three colored heads are about to appear, I think I might be able to minimize the damage I take by dashing towards and climbing up the left wall. There's not much I can do about the yellow electric head (except hit it with X's Plasma Shot), but at least I probably won't have to worry about the red head's fireballs anymore.
0:10 Space Dust? Your the one who's about to become Space Dust Sigma! Regardless if you think you'll survive out of this final battle!
This was a massive pimp slap. I salute you, Maverick Hunter.
@XellosDarkSlayer
This is the hardest sigma out of all 8 games. None of the others give me trouble.
1:01 are you ready for round 2
Couldn’t sleep, had to watch this for some reason
When you were partying, this man studied the frame data. When you were having premarital sex, this man mastered the charged buster. While you wasted your days at the gym in pursuit of vanity, this man cultivated inner strength.
Most likely that happens because you let his scythe hit the floor and not walls.
You did good. I only managed to take no damage on the two first forms of Sigma. I know the attack you said to be the hardest to dodge, is the one he spits all kind of rocks into you, right? This attack can be very cheap at times.
It looks like he was trying to avoid them by triggering the wind/wall spikes attack by wall jumping into the top corner. I'll have to try that.
If u had giga strike. Those tricks won't hold u down.
Very impressive performance indeed. You definitely studied the Attack Pattern for this fight VERY well. Do you still actively play the X Games?
That was amazing!
Intelligent and clean playing, I like it.
Wait, why are you fighting the second half of the first Sigma fight Buster Only? I know that his weakness is the Web Attack
He switched to no weapon b/c unlike the first form 2nd can be hurt by the buster. using the weakness is too easy.
oh
Because weakness is too easy for a No Damage Battle. He only used the fire weapon on the 1st phase because that's the only way to hurt him
By far the most fun Sigma fight out of any of the games.
This is the true meaning of slow n steady wins the race.
Impressive. I have trouble even with the ultimate armor. Does the final form have any weakness weapon?
darkwzrd4 The head, or Earth Sigma as it’s apparently called, is weak to Ground Hunter.
And Gunner Sigma is weak to Soul Body.
Thanks for saying it, I was trying to beat him with no damage using Zero and this shit was the only thing that I couldn't manage to dodge properly.
You are utterly DERANGED for doing this, I just played through the whole game using unarmored X and no upgrades, but I gave up without even attempting this fight at the sheer thought of having to fight FOUR bosses back to back without E-tanks and no armor
0:06 MOTÖRHEAD!
why sigma never throws his boomerangs? if he doesn't throw them is waaaaaay easier to defeat him withoug getting hit
Scythe hits the wall = beams. Scythe hits the floor = boomerangs. It never hit the floor in this video.
i just played this like a week ago, and sigma did both beams and boomerangs when the scythe hit the floor... rockmanx4 pc
+Sebastian Paredes if you jump before he throws his scythe, he will hit the wall, thus no boomerangs
+Sebastian Paredes he will aim the scythe at you, all you got to do is lure him to throw it on the wall (by positioning youself mid air when he is about to throw it .. that way he will always hit the wall and then, no boomerangs.
I always find easier to evade the boomerangs and damage him than getting him to the wall haha.
