Wondering when NFL teams will finally follow the Packers' lead and start treating the qb position like an apprenticeship. The game would be better for it.
That was how teams did manage their rosters for decades. The draft and start immediately is a new trend that has had questionable results. Every year the media proclaims various quarterbacks are "can't miss, the future of the NFL, will be a great player for the next decade" only to have those players riding the bench on other teams after 2 bad years and out of the league shortly thereafter. I remember when the Packers developed 2 or 3 quarterbacks behind the starter and get some extra draft picks from them. With the league being a passing offense league teams should be developing quarterbacks but until one team successfully does it the copycat league will continue to destroy quarterbacks careers by starting them too early.
Dude...what lol. The packers do it the old way. Nfl teams did this forever... the new meta is get a young qb on a cheap deal and stack everything around him.
The coach has coached him since 9th grade specifically as his position coach yet after those 4 years of H.S., 3 years college and 3 years in the NFL, 10 years total coaching this man, he needed a different coach to tell him how to address accuracy issues that have been consistently present that entire career!? Okay, either that coach ain't worth his salt OR everything he has tried also hasn't worked OR it has actually worked, incrementally, as will this, but Jordan is just not naturally a very accurate thrower of the ball. The exact opposite of Rodgers. Accuracy IS a critical skill in the NFL, it is every bit the most important skill right next to ability to read defense and anticipate. Gee, what are the two things they have most recently tried to develop??? You said it, his accuracy and his ability to anticipate (read, understand, then attack, chess like). 3 years in and they are worried about the two most important traits in an NFL qb. That is alarming to me. And it is my concern about the player since the day they drafted him. The writing on the wall tells me he'll be very athletic, he'll make some big plays with that cannon arm, he'll do some exciting stuff escaping the pocket, they might be able to design some exciting plays where he bootlegs or rushed the ball, but ultimately what will matter is when they are forced into passing situations, we'll see bad decisions, INT's, bad passes, etc. LaFleur hasn't proven to be able to carry his weight in strategy, play design, scheme (which is rich considering that is why he got his job) and I worry this is all going to come to a head that leads to retirement from Murphy and then a cleaning house of GM and coaching.
When Rodgers took over the offense he had James Jones, Donald driver, Greg gennings, Jordan Nelson and Finely at TE. I sure hope Christian picks up where he left off and that Romeo can get his confidence back. Stay healthy as well. What do you think their plan is at Wr? They need bodies

Aaron Rodgers is second to none in throwing the football. Maybe just maybe the Packers came to the conclusion that Aaron could not win the big game any more.. In his last three playoff games he under performed. I need a 50 million a year quarterback to play like one come playoff time. Let's see what Love can do, If he gets us to the playoffs and we get bounced, is it really any different. Just a whole lot cheaper.
It seems he has a strong enough arm but struggles with accuracy. His coach believes it improves when he has perfect form. So how bad is his accuracy on off platform throws? If he is forced to scramble how bad does it get? Rodgers could fit it in tight windows with both his feet off the ground. When the play breaks down can Love hit the broad side of a barn?
It'll be Jordan's team to lose, and his team to keep. I just hope that he doesn't ever take it for granted, to where he doesn't show up to volunteer practices during the off-season. It's great news, that he's practicing with the receivers during the off-season right now.

I just lost a ton of respect for Aaron. Though I still respect and appreciate him, I definitely have taken him off the pedestal. I claimed as soon as Davante Adams left that Aaron Rodgers would leave the following year. Incorrectly I predicted he’d be going to the Raiders and Carr would be going to Washington, but I knew Aaron was leaving. It just seems he’s been dishonest about his intentions. I just wish he would have said “I just want to try playing somewhere else” without trying to blame the packer organization. Despite history showing almost to a 100 percent rate, when new GM’s and coaches come in they get a new QB. Aaron thought he would be the exception. He claims there are no hard feelings when clearly he has been sticking it to the organization since drafting Love. Look how pissed off he gets when Rappaport or Sheftner accurately guess or report on what Aaron is going to do.
A first and a second this year for Rodgers, we get jsn and van ness or Nolan smith with our first 2 picks (maybe Brian branch) jsn is a MUST darnell Washington or like musgrave in the 2nd and bj ojulari or Felix uzomah with the other second, get studs to fill the offense and get this defense ROLLING
I am sad to see Roger's go, but I do have faith in Love. He has progressed over the years, and it won't take long for everyone to take notice. He is ready and must be so excited.
As a Packers' fan, I am not excited about Jordan Love. He plays like a rookie in how many years he has been in the league,? 3 or 4? I do not remember. He is not special! We have been spoiled for so many rears with hall of famer QBs, but not any more. This is great news for neighboring teams. At least, that's what I heard from people. I live in Chicago, by the way.
It was just time to start new chapter rogers had 3years left anyway so u gota pick the best qb option on the draft to have a qb after rogers. Rogers sat for three years n learned the system n stepped in when favre was hurt in Dallas love same he stepped in when rogers got hurt in Philly n love did his part. So it’s a good position to be in packers we’re 8-9 with rogers last year so u got the same team back with a young qb the packers r like the Steelers it’s a draft development organization not a free agency type of team
If the Packers go from HOF Favre to HOF Rodgers to HOF Love, someone like the Bears should feel a little cheated! I'm old enough to remember the years between Starr & Favre. Those years weren't pretty! We've been blessed in the quarterback position for decades in GB. Let's hope that continues. I was sad to see Favre leave GB, & I appreciate all that Rodgers has done, too! It's time to move on & hope for the best!
@Sidelinescoop You need to put charles woodson on that back wall Wasn't just white players that play good for Green Bay? Also can never forget reggie white if you're a real packer fan
No no don't hop on the love train now I remember y'all calling him a bust like he was really gonna beat out Rodgers a top five ish QB of all time. Dude basically didn't get a preseason one year then he got thrown in into the loudest place to play aka Kansas City then this year he kinda balled out. If he can throw 3300-3500 yards 24-28 yes I'd take that four his first year starting
YOU CANNOT PREDICT NFL ABILITY! Trade Love not Rodgers. Year after year top NCAA QBs are drafted in the first round and MOST of them are NFL busts. Dumping Rodgers for the guy on bench is total guesswork. Rodgers is the best passer in NFL history. Younger Packer fans have been spoiled for 30 years of great QB play. We older fans remember the 30 years of losing between Starr and Favre. Foolish
Hey what do you think about the Packers keeping Aaron Rodgers with this week NFC division we could probably go to the NFC Championship Game and possibly the Super Bowl with this division so weak
Are you available to be the backup? Every team has a backup or 2 but your comment indicates that you KNOW Jordan Love will be a horrible quarterback. If you are old enough to have been around during the transition from Favre to Rodgers I think you probably felt that the Packers "better have a backup" then as well. I doubt Jordan will be as good as Aaron was in his prime, nobody else has been. I do think that Jordan will have a decent career and hopefully be more of a team player and less of a malcontent distraction then Rodgers has been the past several years. Rodgers has been one of the best if not the best quarterback of all time but he has not been a team player in several years. Aaron only does what is best for himself not for the team. Aaron could have played for less money like Tom Brady did and many other players over the decades to allow their team to retain them and field as many good players as possible but Aaron did what was best for himself. Aaron demanded a commitment from the team, he received a 3 year $150 million commitment. Aaron showed his commitment by skipping voluntary team activities rather than gaining familiarity with the rookies. To show that Aaron was truly committed to the team immediately after the final game he said he would have to decide if he wanted to retire, return or request a trade, not much commitment there. To again show he was a team player he announced he would not hold the team hostage and decide BY March. Aaron decided 1/3 through March just a couple days before free agency. Then to show how understanding and loyal he is on the McAfee show he claimed he was going to retire until his people told him the Packers had looked into potential trade partners that Aaron might actually agree to be traded to. Aaron is intelligent enough to know that the Packers would have to look into potential trade partners before free agency began. You can be fooled into feeling Aaron is the victim but I am sure that Aaron orchestrated this entire scenario. Unfortunately for Aaron the Packers are not fooled and are holding strong to get decent trade value for him. If the Jets don't want to pay, Aaron can decide if he wants to be the highest paid backup in the history of the NFL or retire. Unlike you appear to be an Aaron Rodgers fan, I and many others are Packers fans. I wish Aaron well, I hope the Jets pay the asking price and Aaron has success with his new team or Aaron enjoys his retirement. Aaron has shown his time in Green Bay is over. Aaron forgot that the Packers drafted him at #24 overall when no other teams wanted him. The Packers developed him and gave him the opportunity to become one of the best quarterbacks ever and made him wealthy. If the Packers didn't draft Rodgers he was predicted to be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round. If another team drafted him in later rounds would he have become the player he became? Most likely not based on other players development. Most likely Aaron would have warmed the bench for 3 - 5 years and would be out of the league for several years now. But hey, keep being an Aaron Rodgers fan I'll keep being a Packers fan.
Call me crazy.. bring in Kenny golladay on a cheap deal. Dude was solid with the lions, went to a shit organization where he didn’t care. Hes still 29 and a big body contested catch receiver.

I think he's being setup for success. If he can handle the immense pressure, he'll be just fine. I think that was a reason why Aaron wanted Tom Clements back, because he helped Aaron loads early in his career
I think love will be a great quarterback and have a great career.. he’s handled this whole situation well … and literally shut his mouth didn’t say a word and worked hard and approach everyone well in lock room and media whenever he shows face
I hope love diddnt learn any bad habits from #12, such as running the play clock down to zero , hero ball, taking third down sacks, blaming receivers, being a narcissist, can’t wait for j love to play within the lafluer offense
To be fair all QBs usually run the play clock down to zero. Especially QBs who make a lot of adjustments on the fly like Brady, Peyton and brees. That’s not a negative
Coming out of college, Love already had a certain level of heroball to his game which is part of why he was drafted. You want a guy who is capable of it when necessary. Problem with Rodgers was he developed a nasty habit of doing it when he didnt need to. Here's to hoping Love finds the guidance to know when and when not to let it loose.
Love the 'hero ball' complaint lmao so his jobs wasn't to carry the packers as far as he could and doesn't have the highest td/int, competition percentage, and passer rating in history...
@@prophettheproducer5053 Its a negative when it becomes predictable and defenses start using it against you. Ever wonder why defensive pass rushers look so much faster coming off the ball? Its cuz they dont have to guess.

What do you expect this guy to say? Love will need a full season of starts to know what he will be.
Go Pack Go
As a Packers' fan, I am not excited about Jordan Love.
My familys LOVE 10 jerseys are in the mail 🎉💯🫡
His Hi School coach NOT an NFL caliber coach ..... Sure he does look great until the NFL defenses plan for him next season .
Not to mention Matt was a quarterbacks coach in Washington! Guy is going to be fine
Love played 2 possessions in bend don’t break garbage time last year, doesn’t mean he can’t be good but you ain’t seen nothing yet
@BC Born Crazy Yet, we will!
Heal from what?
@Sidelinescoop You need to put charles woodson on that back wall Wasn't just white players that play good for Green Bay? Also can never forget reggie white if you're a real packer fan
When I hear a 4 minute run on sentence I know I am hearing propaganda.
He had one good season in college
The other season, he had a bad OL.
Foolish
Wow his coach says he’s good!
😂
Exactly. LOL...A paid cheerleader basically
Yeah that would be hilarious if his coach said he sucks and the Packers are totally screwed
Hey what do you think about the Packers keeping Aaron Rodgers with this week NFC division we could probably go to the NFC Championship Game and possibly the Super Bowl with this division so weak
Better have a back up
Danny Etling has played better than Jordan Love.
As post Brett Aaron had 2 down years so will Jordon post Aaron. Hold on packer fans time will tell from a packer fan since 68 lol
Call me crazy.. bring in Kenny golladay on a cheap deal. Dude was solid with the lions, went to a shit organization where he didn’t care. Hes still 29 and a big body contested catch receiver.
Wish his private coach was Tom
draft Grayson McCall from COASTAL CAROLINA late round 7th ?? he is good will be better than LOVE
We know absolutely nothing about how Love will perform. This whole podcast is off season time kill.
Packer fan since 56'.......perfectly fine with Rodgers leaving - it's just time.......I believe Green Bay is the quarterback school of the NFL.....and.....feel really good that Jordan Love is a future HOF'er!!! Can't wait to see if I'm right about him.....
Either that or we will see how bad of an organization they actually are when they don't have a generational qb winning games for them
They don't need that shit
I think he's being setup for success. If he can handle the immense pressure, he'll be just fine. I think that was a reason why Aaron wanted Tom Clements back, because he helped Aaron loads early in his career
Sry It was 6-10 I just looked it up
He's going to be a bust and the Packers are going to be the worst team in the north for a while.
I think love will be a great quarterback and have a great career.. he’s handled this whole situation well … and literally shut his mouth didn’t say a word and worked hard and approach everyone well in lock room and media whenever he shows face
I believe we can make the playoffs with love year one
Excited for the Love era. 2nd year Doubs and Watson should make for some good Packer football
He is 24
Some college prospects that are being drafted this year are 24. Devonte Wyatt was drafted at age 24, last April.
@@prophettheproducer5053 it became a negative when teams started getting a jump on the snap cause they knew it was going right down to 0
Love the 'hero ball' complaint lmao so his jobs wasn't to carry the packers as far as he could and doesn't have the highest td/int, competition percentage, and passer rating in history...
@@prophettheproducer5053 Its a negative when it becomes predictable and defenses start using it against you. Ever wonder why defensive pass rushers look so much faster coming off the ball? Its cuz they dont have to guess.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if Love comes out and absolutely balls out?! I believe in the Packer way.. draft the right type of player with right work ethic and talent and have him learn behind a HOF. Does anyone remember how Rodgers played in his first couple of professional preseason games??
GPG! 🧀
God I hope he’s the next arod. I havent been this excited for a season since 2011.
He's the next Big thing!
I'm super excited to see him take this offense over. When he gets his chance I think he's gonna take Advantage of it. He ain't gonna look like the same Love from that horrible chefs game I bet.
Yes Don a Learning YEAR
I WATCHED HIS COMBINE. He is way closer to Mahone Than any other QB
OUT THERE.I think once he can read different Defensive scrams.I’m ACTUALLY EXCITED. He has Brett Farve love of the game ONLY 100 x more mobile.RODGERS LOVE TO WIN BUT WITHOUT FAVORITE WR
W E G O T A B A L L E R
Men & women. GOooooooooo Pack
He's always gonna be compared to 12.. like 12 was compared to 4.. but let's all just enjoy this new ride.. support the kid eh?.. lfg
It might take a year or two but J-Lo will guileless on the path of righteousness
The way it’s looking he might not play. I think 12 and the packers want to stay together me personally
🤦♂️ bro it’s over he ain’t coming back get over already it’s the love era now
Is he trolling?
@@stevenl4950 personally I don’t care who the QB is… I was just saying that they both act like they don’t want to depart. Aaron really don’t want to go but he will because he wants the money
Ummmmmmm, no.
@@drodericknathen3984 he's getting the money either way. He's got a contract
Packers are already ahead this year with Love instead of Rodgers Love is a team player Love it
He never going to be anything close what AARON R did no way never ????😂Is joke this packers fans
He doesn’t need to Rodgers he needs to just be himself.
We don't need any drama qb
He pays this man lol
