A freaking rat almost offed two of the most powerful characters in this part
Well Jotaro probably could've killed the rat on his own but Josuke needed some training and confidence boosting. But it is fun to think about how some of the worse injuries these two have gotten were from some rats.

thats what stand battles are, you can be weaker, but if you have the better situation for your stats, you have an advantage

When you think about it the rats had a perfect counter to star platnium being Long range projectiles than you can't touch. It's a little simple but then again sometimes the best solutions are.

Don't underestimate any animal with a stand Iggy, Pet Shop, and Strength/Forever/Orangutan stand user are all previous examples of how terrifying they are.
There's a reason the arrow chose them, or they even got stand in the first place.

Keicho (Okuyasu's brother) wanted a stand that could kill his dad. It was Akira (guitar dude) who shot the rats with the bow and arrow
Don't forget: Jotaro is now a marine biologist, so yeah, he loves animals. In fact he has like 3 dolphins ornaments on his clothes hahah
This episode is great. It shows that even stopping time can get rekt against a shooter stand, it gives us some family bonding time, and I think is good for Josuke to have a different kind of threat to face so he polishes his abilities. And Jotaro as a mentor is amazing, love him in part 4

Jotaro was actually weaker on this part than he was in part 3. He didn't need to fight anything for an entire decade. If he had his full power and full duration of The World, he could've just ran up to the rat and finished it off.

This episode is a prime example of the evolution of Araki's combat narrative. It went from "who can punch hardest and be the toughest" to "who understands their power and the power of their enemy best". From here on JoJo's fights only get more interesting.

Lain mhm, literally the earliest form of strategies in Jojo Fights is when Jonathan and Dio fought for the first time in boxing.
A big reason for Dio winning is his experience in street boxing, using tricks to outpace and overpower Jojo (the thumb to the eye as well, being insult to injury.)

An episode like this would've been boring af in part 3, but it works perfectly in part 4 and it's actually quite enjoyable
They tell you the plot on the first episode in part 3 and you know how is gonna end

@@amirabukar2661 some of the stands were really interesting (ex. Hanged Man, the D'arby's stands, Cream ecc.) But many of them were forgettable to say the least cuz they were just physical stands (all the Crusaders have some pretty simple and uninspired stands, and others like Tower Of Grey and Dark Blue Moon were mediocre).
What DIO needed to defeat Jotaro was place several of these rats around Egypt
If only he knew to shoot arrows at rats, and not gorillas and hawks.
It took the stardust crusaders Kakyoin's life to figure out Dio's time stop ability. It took that rat 1 shot to figure out Jotaro's lol

Jotaro got really into Marine Biology in college so he had to add it to his flair. Apparently he was always a big fan of Columbo. That explains why he's always down to play detective and you can bet he's investigating some tide pools while here vacationing in Morioh.
Also I super appreciate the Tremors references. The first is a classic and 2-6 are a fantastic bit of bizzare, just like this show.

10:20 Yes, Abi, that's exactly right. The Jostars switch from cold-tempered to hot-tempered every generation; Jonathan was calm, Joseph was wild, Jotaro was stoic, and now Josuke is how he is.
19:50 Okuyasu's brother wanted a Stand that could kill their dad, so he shot a whole bunch of people. But man, yeah, if he had gone back in time and stopped their dad from turning into a monster, then the entire arc wouldn't have ever happened. Okuyasu's brother wouldn't have needed to use the bow & arrow to make all the Stand users, and the major conflicts of the story never would've happened. That would have been kind of a crazy way to make the story go, actually.

Jotaro always came off as a bottled-feelings kind of guy, even when he found out about the death of Kakyoin and witnessed what seemed to be Joseph's death as well. Kind of outshined by more expresive characters like Polnareff and Old Joseph, still my favorite Jojo though, he nails his cool presence + the fact he does love his friends/family even though he actively chooses to act like a punk instead. But yeah, Young Joseph is Araki's magnum opus when it comes to charming Jojos.
5 more episodes, I want to see the two of you cry.

Oh god, I've never watched the uncensored version before, so even I'm disgusted by those close-ups.
Considering Rat > Jotaro and Jotaro > Dio. Therefore Rat > Dio. This is now officially canon. A fucking rat can beat one of the strongest stand users in the world. Thats what I love about the power system in this series.
