You would have never heard of this song and group if Peter Green had not started the band in the 60’s. I was fortune enough to see him play. RIP Peter. I will play this song and have my daughter sing it with me.
@@kurtmartin3095 No, he just decided to quit making lessons. What started out as a way to help teach his brother, grew to something much larger than he expected. There were also a few who had bad things to say and complain about and he finally reached his limit and decided it wasn't worth the time and effort. Miss James. He is a great teacher. I learned a LOT from him.
I watched a video of Bob Welch playing it this way. When I picked up my guitar it became apparent it wasn’t standard tuning. Thanks for clarifying the double drop D!
Thank you so much just picked up my guitar after six years and wanted to get back into the swing of things this was a great tutorial thank you for explaining everything so well ❤
Such a good tutorial. I hardly play guitar and I could follow 90% of it. I'm playing it on piano and wanted to know how easy it would be on guitar. I could now teach it will enough. Thanks.
I'm playing this in dadgad. Not the way Lindsey does it, but the interpretations are interesting to explore! Double drop d sounds like the original though. I keep adding in "The Chain"bass solo at the end because it also fits this similar song.
Love this, found that little rundown a bit hard to follow though. Would love to see this broken down. Great video, great stuff.. Thanks |Larry B (Ireland)
"This is the way I do it, I have no idea what Lindsay's doing." ... That might be a stipulation upon which one might hold reservation for making an instructional video.
James James it’s a very catchy melody. I always wonder what could have been had the stones landed page as their second guitarist to accompany Keith. Not that the stones didn’t do well without him.
@@jamesjames9275 Hi JJ. Forgive me I'm just a by ear player but in open G the opening riff is a D shape with the top string open then hammer on the 4th string 3rd fret then 6th string 3rd fret with pinky and repeat. The sequence then is D shape, G , C 5th fret G , D shape for the verse. Add the opening riff as necessary The "Did she make you cry...." sequence is :- Bb G C D top string open and the opening riff again. The outro is the opening riff repeated "Pale shadow of a woman, black widow etc" It's simple but it works for us less gifted souls.
James James - unsung guitar hero...
Too true

Damn I miss this guy! He was the best! 😢
Is he dead ?

The rundown?
Wow! 👏👏👏
Thank you I want to not go to work today and learn this the right way.
It sounds really good James don't worry m8
The J200 rocks it. But I'm wondering if they recorded that with a hummingbird?
I don't know what guitar it is, but i sounds amplified to me, slightly phased.

For you, maybe.
🤘🏆
You’ve got a good ear
🤘
Cool
Thanks bro
Yo how do you make that guitar sound so good? God damn!
Is the chord progression the same through the chorus too? The ‘did he make you cry, make you break down’ etc part?
Is there an easier chord option for the Bflat chord?
What do you think of the stones/page song scarlet?
Better than I expected. I’d always heard it described as a loose jam, but it’s more structured than I thought.
James James it’s a very catchy melody. I always wonder what could have been had the stones landed page as their second guitarist to accompany Keith. Not that the stones didn’t do well without him.
@@jamesjames9275Guitar tone sounds more Ronnie than keith or Jimmy. Reminds me of Hey Negrita...Hope you cover it!
You can make a reasonable rendition of this in open G. Not so comprehensive as your lesson
but a little bit easier for us lesser mortals!
Is this arrangement difficult?

But...the chorus?
ty. i cant figure out what chords are being played during the "go home" part on the outro?
He's just riffing on the D for the whole outro.
