At La Mer they started charging ridiculous parking fees if I remember correctly and this obviously put off footfall. Add the poor connectivity of the public transport to the coast. As for City Walk: I've been there half a dozen times and from 2019 - 2022 and it's filled with sub standard vendors. We'd literally walk up and down disappointed with so many average dining options and just settle for PF Chang which is available everywhere for a lack of better options. As for J1 or the new La Mer choosing 13 highly pretentious beach clubs?! Just what this City doesn't need any more of... Cringe crypto bro's, escorts and Instaho "influencers"
Dubai lack public beaches, The government should think of having a lot more public areas and beaches. Not everything needs to be a shopping mall. A. typical seaside city in Europe will have a beach promenade long tens of kilometers
A big mistake has been made, I think. Green beaches are being destroyed. Jumeirah Beach Park was the first oasis in the desert to be demolished along with a large forested area. Now it's the turn of a very soulful, romantic, green beach park - La mer beach. We fell in love with Dubai for its modernity and comfortable green beaches. Instead of beautiful beach parks now restaurants on the beach with their own expensive sunbeds. And then there is face control, evening dresses. What kind of vacation is that? On vacation, you want to relax

La Mer looked really impressive to me . Sad it's gone before I went there
First what you should do with city walk is to fix the parking !
most feel like La Mer is for emirati's plus most people don't go that far up
It was under construction when I left , it looked like a beautiful project, surprised it went wrong ..the location seems bit disconnected
Completely nonsense
The Secirty gards/beach gards are really respectlos, at la mer, men don't feel free, stupid securty
