Wow. Thorough review and good depth. Convinced me that Lorex is the pro in the field (I looked at Arlo Ultra 2 videos and their 4k reso sucks). I don't need person, animal, package, camera, TV detection for $10/mt.
9:21 having to have a local monitor and mouse to make changes to NVR settings is very secure but also very archaic. I just bought this system and will be placing it in a cabinet in a property 30 miles away. So having to drive there and then having a monitor in a data closet is a major PITA. The data closet is the natural place to mount the NVR and many homes and businesses have no room for a monitor. My setup is going into a cabinet that is about 7 feet off the ground... to set the left behind and missing object settings, I will have to somehow connect a monitor and mouse to the NVR 7 ft above my head. In todays world where many things are remote configured, Lorex needs a remote option via a web interface or proprietary software if desired by the user.
You're the best! I just got a Lorex system (similar to yours) from Costco and I'll be installing it soon at the house. We have already installed another system at your vacation home and it's been working solid for the past 3 years (all 4 seasons). Thank you for such a nice and thorough review!

Don't forget the snooze alert function for the second video. It works. Great. Like to avoid getting a million notifications when you are cutting the lawn . And the fact that you could lower the resolution to 1080p and get higher frame rate.
Great review. Thank you. I plan to get the current Lorax 4K NVR from Costco with eight 4K cameras plus you can hook up another eight WI-FI devices (camera, floodlight, doorbell). Thank you again for this detailed review. 🙏👍
Another excellent review. I'm shopping for one of the Lorex Fusion platforms vs the Eufy S3's and this really helped with the decision. Thanks a lot for putting these video reviews together.
I know it’s an old video but I’ve had a older (2008) Lorex system (no WiFi) hardwired system that has had 0 problem with 4ea 8k cameras on continuously. Also. Power goes out a few times each year but my system bounces right back without any problems. I don’t know anything about the newer fusion stuff but the old stuff is great !
Hey you mentioned you were going to compare to your reolink system but I didn't see that take place. I was looking forward to this as am considering doing the same
Every NVR system I've installed (I'm not a professional. I did one for my house and one for my in-laws) required a few days of testing to fine-tune the right amount of sensitivity etc to help minimize false alarms and too many notifications. You can also decide whether you want highest resolution with low frame rate (like 15 or 10) or a slightly lower resolution but with a higher frame rate. 4K is really nice, but at 15 frames per second 1080P at 30 fps is more usable in my opinion (and still looks really nice). Anyway, be sure to play around with the settings until you get the results you want. Question: When motion is detected, does this system record the event a few seconds before the event or right when it starts?* This is really useful in many cases. * People might be wondering how a camera could start recording before the event happens, but what it really means in that sort of setup is that the system is ALWAYS watching and recording but when it detects an event it sets the start of the event to a few seconds before the event triggered the system.
I have another model lorex 4k system that I have been happy with. I have a corner house, and on one side my house sits between 2 street lights so I can use color night vision with great clarity. On the other street it is very dark so I set those cameras on night vision. I was a little disappointed with some things like the audio and the ghosting, but some of the detection features were very cool! Can't wait for part two, maybe a comparison to Reolink? Thanks again for all of your hard work!
Yes, this camera definitely has ghosting issues and you have to check and test the camera you have that is in between the street lights and make sure it captures clear color footage during movement. I like the app responsiveness on the Lorex better than the Reolink plus it has rich notifications. I'll be comparing both systems soon.
@@LifeHackster Do you think the ghosting would be eliminated if you had additional flood lights illuminating the recording area? I'm considering getting this system, but I'm a little bit leery of the ghosting.

@@DatNguyen-ow3bc Night time does suck without any light source. There is a settings on the NVR itself that you can change to night time, it helps barely. I do like the system and app as a whole enough to keep it though. Nighttime sucks donkey without any light source.

The camera gets its power from the recording unit. If someone steals the recording unit from your home, and with the SD card installed on the camera itself, you'd have a backup of what was recorded by that camera before the recorder was disconnected.
@LifeHackster I enjoy your videos a lot. I am looking for cameras to install in my house, in your opinion, which one would you recommend - this lorex fusion one or reolink 811a ?
I can’t decide between this and the reolink 4K both bundles with 6 cameras. They seem to be about $150 apart with lorex being more expensive. Is one better than the other? Which should I go with?
Great Video! If you can make a video comparing Lorex with Reolink, it will be greatly appreciated. I can't find a single video on RUclips that actually shows the comprehensive, in-depth side-by-side comparison.
I had this camera system and had to return it last week (after using it for a solid 2 months). While the Lorex camera angle is wider than the Reolink 4K bullet camera (which I now have), it was constantly sending me notifications even after fine tuning the zones and sensitivity. It constantly gets triggered whenever any bug flies in front of it or the leaves shadow moves from the wind blowing.
I bought a 10 camera smart deterrence setup and I’m about to return it also. You can’t turn off the spotlights without disabling all the motion activators and the light completely distorts picture when it detects and then so so many false alarms even a camera inside it detects a vehicle and then my cats outside or bugs constantly set them off
My friend great video. Thank you for showing us the video and audio quality of this 4k fusion cameera Would you recommend a 4k reolink 8 camera system over this one? Thank you so much!
This is an amazing review! How do you add their doorbell wifi camera to the fusion system? It's my understanding that the "fusion" system allows you to incorporate wifi cameras into the NVR system. Also, does anyone know if you can pay for cloud storage that will allow you to see further back from a remote location using the desktop app or mobile app.
Great video. I have a few questions though...1-) Can one user/account be accessed through the app in 2 different cellphones at the same time? 2-) In order to for me to be able to get the cellphone to sync with the DVR, the cellphone has to be physically present to scan the QR Code on the TV screen hooked to the NVR? The reason I'm asking is because I'll have a friend installing this system for me at my house and I won't be present. So, in order for me to make the app work on my cellphone in such way that it can access/talk to the NVR at my house, would my friend need my phone with him when he installs this system in my house? 3-) You explained how you can access the 24/7 footage via the NVR/TV and clip video footage of the length of your choosing to extract it to, say, an USB flash drive. However, can this be done on a cellphone also via the app? Or is this something that only can the done via the NVR/TV? Thank you!!
Thanks for making the video review of the Lorex camera. That was a great and thorough review! I just bought this same camera and was wondering if the features are good or not.
@LifeHackster Hoping you can answer my question. The fusion NVR being reviewed in this video seems to have the E892AB cameras however other kits with different cameras are available. Could the E892AB camera's be responsible for the poor night vision and ghosting ? Great review by the way.
Hello I just got a camera system for my business and really good and 4k but one question how can I turn off camera lights in daytime! When someone walk by it turn on the lights I want it to be off can you help me with that thanks
Awesome video as always LifeHackster. @16:08 you test audio from the camera and test the siren out. It seems extremely low but the dB test seems to show that it’s high. Was the audio lowered for the video, or was the mic far away? I can barely hear anything.

Are multiple people able to receive notifications on the app at the same time? Can 2 separate phones get notifications? I was told that Lorex only supports 1 person receiving notifications through the app.
Time will tell, I purchased Lorex 4K cameras a few years ago from Costco, been getting a lot of nusante notifications of leaves falling and insect's,spider webs. So had to turn off notifications.hope these newer cameras can detect auto and people instead.

@@BLUELEADER78 Well, whichever cameras you got hang on to them. They're apparently way better than the ones I got. I'm assuming your system is a little different than mine because I don't have a way to saving a sound clip to the camera like you can.
I have reolink & I've bin wanting lorex 4k 12MP thanks
Great video but still not sure...does every camera need to be plugged into an ethernet cable???
Can you view the video on another pc in the home?
Really good video
Awesome review. Is the audio that bad on all security cameras or just these? Its the 21st century so I'm surprised they sound so terrible.
No, some are decent.
would you know if you get notified if the camera goes offline? great review bud
Best gaslighting toy ever!
Great Video, thank you for providing a review and so much needed information. I do have a question about a PoE system for my home. I would like your suggestion on a 6 camera system, 4k, night vision, and human and vehicle detection. Is there a specific system you would choose, thank you?
You're great Bro. Can you come to my house and install this system. I have this system(4 cameras) for over a year and just don't know how to install it.
Great video, as well as others on your channel. Looking at NVR systems for my church, and even after watching a few of your videos, I can't decide between brands. I am looking at Reolink, Lorex, Zosi, and GW Security. Any general suggestions, or PROS and CONS of different brand 4k NVR systems?
Great video!
Great video. I just received the exact same system, but what is the purpose of the SYSTEM INFO and DEVICE LOG tabs in the Events page. When i select them it says 'no events'. l called Lorex support and spoke with 2 different reps, and they didn't know either.
I have this system also and I’ve never had anything show up in those sections yet either.
What an amazing video!! When you set the siren off and we were hearing the audio from the camera was it really that low? Looking to buy this bundle sometime today.
Hello thanks again for this INFORMATIVE REVIEW!! Sir, Does ALL the cameras capable of 2way talk ? THANK YOU
Yes. All the cameras are two way talk. But you can only talk through one camera at a time.
Very informative. Thanks for doing this.
the video I was looking for
Very good review.
Awesome demonstration! Thank you.😎
