What a difference the paint made on the front door. I would have paid to watch HD put together those chairs with a Alan key 😅.. Your babies fill my heart with joy watching then play together and sit in the egg chair and share chews ❤❤ adorable. Great video, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Your end results were very pretty. I was a little disappointed you didn't go bold for the door but I do understand your love of neutrals. It looks nice.
Everything looks sharp. The change of the color of the door makes a huge difference. Having the chairs not fade and loose their newness is a plus. enjoy!!
Good morning Christina, warm greetings from a sunny S. Africa today. The past two week of bitterly cold icy winds were just disgusting to say the least!! Today is sunny with good temperatures for us on the Highveld, high lying areas above sea level that is, no fierce southerly winds bringing up the icy temperatures from the mountains. I think not only will the lizards be sunning themselves today each and every one that can find a sunny spot will be enjoying themselves, The front door looks so lovely especially with the plants on either side. Practical plants I might add. The Japanese maple is always a winner in the garden. I have one which is many years but I have planted it in a planter and it always looks good. After winter when the new growth appears, there is the most lovely colour changes in the leaves. Amazing how nature is always in control. I do prefer the lighter grey on the front door it does seem to brighten things up, Grasses are always a firm favourite in the garden, very low maintenance yet so effective. Just a couple of new plants makes such a difference. After all that work, you can sit down in the late afternoon and enjoy a glass of wine or any cocktail which you can enjoy and appreciate your work. Enjoy your day together, many blessings, kind regards, Elize.
Hi Elize!! It's so crazy that around the world the weather has not been kind to all of us this year! hopefully next year it will be better!! Glad you enjoyed the video! I hope you enjoy today's new video! The weather her is hot but its nice to feel the heat every now and then!!! yes the grasses are good here, they seem to hold up with the dry environment! ❤️🙏🎨
Hi there.....love your videos. I have made a number of your projects myself. I always look forward to what you will do next. I have learned a lot from you. I love your pups. ❤ However.....I do have to say the front door looks too pale for a front door for me. I am hoping you will give it a pop of colour in the future. The landscaping is beautiful. Love the Japanese Maple. They are so pretty.
Hi Deborah thanks for the feedback! I thought about a bold color and I may end up doing that. I will see how the front sits with me and decide then. Great thing it’s just paint and it can always be repainted! 🎨🙏❤️
Thank you Christina, our summer is around the corner, you motivated me! Your front door looks beautiful. Our winter is ugly. We need to refresh everything in spring. I am looking forward 🪴🌼🌸☘️ ❤️🇿🇦
A front door/entry space makeover has been on my list of to-do projects for (way too long) years, ever since we built the house, but we just haven't done it yet. Thanks for the inspiration, maybe we'll get it done this year? Love those happy bouncy dogs, the puppies are growing up so fast! ❤
I like the black mulch or the bark, I would never buy red, just my preference. When transplanting tress and stuff you should trim some of the end of the roots so it can grow new feeder roots and it will thrive a lot better.
Christina, you are so right, small changes certainly provides us a Happy Heart! Growing up there was a magnificent red Japanese Maple on our property, as a little art student, I would take my water colors and paint the tree every season. I imaged myself as Monet’s student painting the Haystacks. Lesson learned, dreaming is good at all ages ❤️❤️
Your transformations are making this home so much more welcoming:) Which type of home do you prefer working with, vintage or modern? My home is much more modern than I would like. It was built in 1950 so I’m always trying to bring more of a vintage feel into it. It seems like it’s a never ending process. We live in the foothills of the Adirondacks in upstate New York and we are surrounded by beautiful vintage homes everywhere. I would love to get my hands on one:)
That sounds nice! We love the vintage homes and modern both styles there is so much you can do with either. I like transforming both, for me like furniture paint the piece or home will tell you what it needs. 🎨🙏❤️
@@TheReclaimedHeirloomThank you! I’ve gotten some new inspiration and ideas from your channel. I had lost steam and creativity for a while. As you know healthcare work has been no picnic over the last few years. Keep on inspiring:)
The front of your house looks lovely with the changes you made. Your puppies are the cutest! They have so much fun together, I could watch them all day💕

Hey Christina! I always look forward to watching your videos. I love all of the improvements especially the red Japanese maple tree. My question is do you and Ryan have future plans to replace the front door? Or the side door panels with glass windowpanes? 😊❤I love the puppies they’re adorable 🥰.

You said the planting hole should be 2x the width and 2x depth of the root ball of what you are planting. I think that’s your problem … yes 2x width, but depth should be just enough for the new tree to sit at or slightly above the surface. That’s what I have read many places/times. Christina, all looks great. One thing, I noticed you put the dead tree and plants, etc. in a garbage bag. Doesn’t BC have organic pick up with recycling every week? Here in Ontario all my garden stuff, branches, weeds, even our grass goes in the green bin and/or brown paper bags for weekly pick up. Kim in Niagara
Hi Kim! We have to take our dead tree to the local waste management center (no regular pickup schedule here in Bc for this large amount of Garden waste, just the regular pickup every other week for waste/recycling/green) and they have a bin for garden waste. I placed the tree in the black garbage bag to transport it to the bin (the needles were falling off). The bin doesn't allow for the garbage bags so you have to empty the bag. ❤️🎨🙏
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom oh I see. I think we are moving to 2 week recycle and organic pick up in the new year. Which isn’t good. People will start to dump in our rural areas😡. Here it’s 1 bag of garbage every 2 weeks. Not bad in winter but summer not so good with the heat. Your new paint colour coordinates nicely with the brick and brightens up the front.
It has been a real inspiration to watch you transform the front of your house. Amazing!! Love the chairs & the entrance itself is much more welcoming & attractive. And Japanese maple is one of my favourites - an excellent choice. ❤
